The club is well maintained, has good equipment etc. ***WARNING!*** Remember that you are signing a contract. They do not like to even say the word contract, but it is a contract. Read the contract carefully, if you do not pay, they can damage your credit rating. No matter what they say, This is a corporation, all this corporation cares about is money. Missouri law states that when you sign a contract with them you have 3 days to back out of the contract.

I signed up under Ozark Fitness for a 3 year contract, the price was higher than I wanted to pay, but at the end of the 3 years, I was only supposed to be charged like $ 30 a year, so I figured, why not?! Even if I don’t use the membership, my husband will and $ 30 a year was cheap. The facility was nice and everyone seemed super nice. I even hired a personal trainer through Custom Built at the club. What a joke that was! The trainer was nice enough, but totally inexperienced on dealing with people with limited mobility, I ended up with a messed up Achilles tendon and spent 8 weeks in a walking boot. I was originally told that if I became physically unable to use the trainer or moved x amount of miles away, I could cancel my contract without a penalty. They refused to let me out of my contract, unless I paid a $ 350 cancellation fee. I paid it to be done with them. After all, I signed a contract and an honorable person honors a contract, I gave my word. Genesis bought out Ozark Fitness and I was concerned about my contract with the club itself, this was the entire reason I’d been paying so much money every month after all. I was assured that they would honor my contract. My contract is now up in March, so I called and spoke with a very nice man named Aaron(sp?), who did absolutely nothing, except to confirm my fears. They will NOT be honoring my contract. They will however let me sign another meaningless contract(meaningless on their side anyway) with them for a much lower fee than they normally charge, but will not honor the $ 30 a year membership. I’m NOT a happy camper about this, my husband used the facilities quite a bit and now we will be canceling when the contract ends. I understand that Genesis took on Ozark Fitness customers and I signed with Ozark Fitness, not Genesis, but this is NOT a good way to do business. I have had my fill of contracts with this business and their predecessors. Their contracts ONLY mean something when it benefits the company and NOT the customer. Think long and hard before you sign a contract with this company or any other gym.

I went here to see what the gym was like. I told the trainer Ihad a gym for the next three months and just needed to try this gym for the a free pass to see what it was like. He wasted 45 minutes of my time and offered me a memebership when I explained I didn’t need it till June. Fitness 10 and Planet Fitness both offer free 24 hr passes. It is horrible that this one didn’t. When I asked why, he said«oh that is because we are private.» I came with my gym bag in hand. Only to be turned away. I’m sitting at home now in pain. I will not choose this gym in May orJune. It will be Planet Fitness or Fitness 10. These people will string you along, they just have that way about them. BTW, a starting fee of $ 200 is rediculous! Don’t go here!

I absolutely love this place. Cameron, Marcus & Jason are great and will guide you at every step to achieve your goals. I was afraid joining a gym that I might be judged because of the shape I was in but I had nothing to worry. After checking out most gyms here in Springfield I am glad that I found the best. Well worth the money.

These people really care about helping you reach your goals! I was in town on business, the hotel fitness center just did not have the equipment I needed to stay on track with my fitness routine. I contacted Anthony at Genesis about working out for the week. I was expecting to have to pay some type of fee for the week, but when I went in to speak with him, he gave we a pass for the week! Thank you Anthony and all the staff at Genesis for your hospitality!

Very disappointing. I joined almost 2 years ago when it was Ozark fitness. The equipment was a little outdated but it was clean and pretty much all of the staff was awesome. How I miss those days. Now, after only a few months in control of the facility, its going to he!!. Machines are always breaking but you don’t know until you get on it and try to use it since they don’t put signs up, the wifi is shotty at best so it you listen to online radio while you workout you’re SOL, the tv’s hooked up to the machines only get reception on a few channels(hope you like golf and public access, and that’s IF you can find a remote), there is a thick layer of sweat grime and dust on EVERYTHING, the girl’s bathroom is always wrecked(seriously gross), and there are always free weights and misc equipment EVERYWHERE. Seriously, considering all you ever see the employees doing is standing around bitching or flirting with people, you’d think someone could manage to do a quick walk through and pick junk up. The manager is a total jerk. An associate told my sister 3 months ago when she went to cancel her month-to-month plan due to an injury, that she could put it on hold for 3 months and it would just be $ 10 a month. This information was ONTHECONTRACTTHEYGAVEHER and when she went in to re-activate her account, they told her she owed back payment on the last 3 months totaling $ 90! Then when she showed the«manager» the contract the guy had given her, he refused to honor it and basically told her to eff off. We contacted their corporate offices and never received a response. I seriously cannot wait until my contract is up. It is not even ALMOST worth the $ 40 a month I pay. This place is crap. Crappy equipment, crappy employees, crappy service. You can find a much better deal at any other gym.
