Great food and not up tight atmosphere. Casual friendly. Try Rasta-pasta with the steak.

Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat not only in Springfield, but anywhere. The Full Ride is as good as it gets.

This place has an awesome atmosphere! My server was hilarious and the cooks had me laughing pretty hard. Everything is laid back and the service is awesome. I started with the hottest wings and they were good. I am very tolerant to heat, but they had great flavor and would knock some people over. They were crispy, so tell the server if you don’t like the that way. I got a burger(don’t remember which one, but it had jalapeños) and dang was it good. It was cooked perfectly. The fries were awesome too. You definitely need to come here. I know I will be back anytime I’m in the area.

I love this place. I’m not sure if they’d like me calling it a hipster joint, but it’s as close as you can get for Springfield. The food is always prepared fresh and hot to your table. A great variety in the menu, but not too much to overwhelm you. Great patio in the back for those cool evenings or warm afternoons. It’s not a huge place, so come early to beat the crowds. Park on the south side in between the music store and Grad School.

Do not be fooled by the people who call this just another burger place. I don’t really know how to classify this place. It is somewhere between american, mexican, and italian, so in other words it’s like if Salina Gomez was a restaurant. The restaurant is bigger than it appears from the outside because it is really deep. When I went recently we sat at the bar and watched our food being cooked which was a crazy process in such a small space, but they somehow managed to be extremely efficient and very obviously they were enjoying themselves as well! We had an appetizer that consisted of mushrooms covered in mashed potatoes on a bed of a marinara like sauce, two different wing flavors, one was«deathstar» and the other was the in house flavor. Deathstar was fire, literally, and the house flavor was kind of a sweet sesame flavor. Finally for our entrees we both got the Full ride burger based off of previous Unilocalers suggestions and it was fantastic! They do have patio seating out the back of the building as well as a large array of drink selections. The parking is pretty busy on weekends but you can almost always find a spot on that side of downtown other than on extremely busy weekends. Definitely give this place a shot!

Greasy diner type place but seriously SOSO good. Even though I wouldn’t say super kid friendly the staff were so accommodating to our little man while we were here! I am sure that Mr. W and I will be attending this place again! Their burger was so good and the pasta that was on special was outstanding!

Great service even when they were busy they forgot our appetizer and still took full on responsibility and gave it to us for free which is a plus. Their full ride burgers are to die for! Check this place out for sure

Not worth it. This may have been a good place once but they have really taken their eye off the ball. The first time we went, the wait for our meal was glacial. When the food arrived it was pretty good. So we decided to give it another try tonight. We could have eaten in 2 places in the time it took this place to deliver the food. My wife burrito had few vegetables, overcooked chicken and poorly cooked rice. My steak sandwich was good. During our wait we were entertained by watching the chefs drink PBRs, talk loudly in sentences laced with the F word and switch the music to head banger music. I could go on but just skip this place. Plenty of other good, we’ll manged places downtown.

This place is awesome has a home town dinner feel with an edge and a whole lot of heavy metal. Servers are nice and friendly. Food came out rather quickly even though there was quiet a rush inside when we arrived. And the food is even better then environment will be coming back

Grad school never disappoints. Everything is fresh with recipes that add a little twist. The wait staff and cooks are fun and interesting. Be warned: portions are big.

Unbelievable meal as always, but the bar have been raised a notch tonight. Wednesday night soup was the Creamy Carrot Coconut Curry. Again unbelievably great. This is a five star restaurant in disguise. I have never been let down and if you have never been step up to the plate and be prepared to be blown away. Most people get the Full ride. Great meal, but don’t be afraid to explore and the soups in the winter are incredible.

The reason I went here was because one of my former coworkers told me how great it was. So since I was in the area I thought I would check it out. The service was awesome, a lot of the people working here were hipsters covered with a lot of tattoos. But still they were pretty chill and the speed of the service was satisfactory. The food was very good. I had the Micah Chicken. It was very spicy but good. It came with rice and a few other veggies. What shocked me was the fact that this whole in the wall restaurant did a good job with the presentation of the dish. Looks can be deceiving I guess. This restaurant is a tiny little place located right next door to a music shop. Before this place opened up there used to be a coffee shop located here. I’m glad they found a better way of utilizing the space. In short great food and service from an unlikely spot and people.

Loved the food! This place is tiny its kind of one way in one way out but they make it work. As soon as you walk in you are greeted. Service was great I had the burger being new to Springfield everyone said this was the best in town, and they were correct! This burger was delicious I also tasted their burrito and tacos all very good. I will be going back soon!

Made my first visit to Grad School today as I go down my lists of Springfield reported best burgers. As suggested by friends I ordered the full ride and fries and ponied up to the counter. I definitely suggest sitting at the counter. For one its a great show watching someone that knows how to work a griddle plus you are privy to what can be interesting conversations between the staff which actually adds to the fun. Just watching my full ride prepared with two griddled patties, caramelized onions, bacon and what looks like a cup of sharp cheddar cheese spread was like waiting to see if you got the last number right on your lottery ticket. So how was it… it was amazing! I cant tell you the last time I ate a burger and fries that I didnt ask for a little ketchup or mustard. Nothing would have made this burger tastier. Add to that the fried which are huge in portion size and hand cut heaven. All i all a cool place that is what it is and that’s a darn fine place to grab a burger. I plan on going back soon and taking someone that will try some other menu items. Me, I have a lot more full rides in my future.

What happened to the full-ride of yesteryear? I was one of the first diners this place had and my friends and I would eat here several times per week. The service was great and the food was great with the right prices. I visited recently and received a full-ride that was comparable to a burger one could buy at Steak n Shake. My friend even looked up and said, «this just isn’t nearly the same as it was in the past.» I agree. I’ve also noticed reviews on this place trending down. I think they must be cutting costs and I notice they’re no longer able to serve alcohol. Too bad.

I’ve heard rave reviews about this place. Had to wait outside in the summer heat, for ½ hour, just to be seated. Walking in, you see plates of fries and delicious sandwiches being prepared on the grill. We were pointed(not escorted) to a grungy table in the back of this shot-gun style eatery. We swatted flies while reviewing the menu. Our friend enjoyed her Alfredo, and her husband said sandwich was great. I ordered jerk chicken, which was dry but had a good flavor. Veggies were ok but rice was dry. There was no sauce so the whole plate seemed dry and incomplete. Did I mention dry? Don’t order the chicken when you go and don’t inspect the place for cleanliness or customer service. And don’t sit by the back door swarming with flies. I won’t be back.

Got off the interstate and ventured in to town for something to eat and this place came up on Unilocal with good reviews so I decided to try. I had the deathstar ‘wangs’ to start. They were super hot and very good. Then I had the mushroom ‘steak’ sandwich. The sandwich was good but I loved the fries. Hand cut, crispy, so good. Service was great and pretty fast. Come on in.

Grad School… One of my favorite places in Springfield. Great, alternative atmosphere. Great food. The cooks are fun to watch and the Dive feel is one-of-a-kind. The Full Ride is my «go to» entrée at the burger joint. Having moved from the sgf area to central Missouri, I take every chance I get to eat at this place whenever I am passing through town or whether I’m visiting. My first visit was with a former professor of mine from undergrad and we both fell in-love with the place and have been hooked ever since. Start with the Full Ride and make as many return visits as possible in order to taste the ENTIRE menu! You will not be disappointed.

Worth a trip. You’ll probably smell like grease and hot sauce when you leave, but it’s a tasty meal. I could go on and on about the Full Ride burger and how the portions are huge and they could use a better beer selection… but I won’t. I am actually amazed at the service. You wouldn’t think that Grad School would be tops in their attention to their customers… but my last visit, I left with the biggest smile on my face! I am a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, and I took my Little to her first meal at Grad School. We sat at the counter right by the grill and grabbed menus. My little is picky(no cheese, no peppers, etc) but wanted to order the fettuccine. I told her the portions were big and I didn’t think she could eat that much. The server behind the counter offered a half-order and would leave out whatever ingredients she didn’t want(without me asking!). They let her see her chicken cooking on the grill, and even took her and her brother outside to show them how the exhaust fan vented to the outside. We also got dessert, and the staff was beyond accommodating to a couple kids who don’t get treated that special in their day to day lives. Thank you, Grad School, for having great, patient, friendly employees… and some damn good food. :)
