Grumpy’s Lounge

Grumpy’s is at the end of a little strip mall tucked back on South Campbell. Not a place where you would expect to find a bar… also not a place where you expect to find food, but I’ll get into that later. Grumpy’s is just what the name suggests. If you were to have a grumpy ass uncle with a garage bar, this would be it. Gumpy’s deserves five stars of that’s the kind of establishment you were expecting… If you know you’re headed to a dive bar, it’s great. If you think you’re headed to a classy evening out, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
Lots of handwritten signs taped to every door and wall and window, $ 2 tallboy can beer specials (that come with your own koozies that I’m pretty sure you have to give back). I’ve been here for karaōke, and I’ve been here just for a lazy night playing pool. They also have a brand new touch tones kind of jukebox that takes your credit card. One of the most irritating things for me when I go to grumpys as I get hungry. There’s a Pizza Hut two doors down in the strip mall, but it closes at 10 for carry out. You can order delivery, but there’s a $ 2 delivery charge for the drivers to walk 10 feet. I would walk 10 feet to go pick up my breadsticks. But, the beer is cheap, the staff is nice, and they do a lot of benefits and helpful things for their patrons. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood.
