Jose Locos

If you’re looking for some tasty Mexican food, look no further! This is your place! My girlfriends and I come to Jose on the regular. Their fajitas are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Their signature dishes can’t be beat. One of my favorites includes the «Pollo Loco» which is two hearty tender chicken breasts in a creamy white wine cheese sauce with sautéed mushrooms, onions and bell peppers served on a piping hot fajita skillet. Can you really turn that down?
Their chips and salsa are some of the best I’ve ever tasted, and I am kind of a chips and salsa snob. You can tell the salsa is freshly made.
In the mood for an alcoholic beverage? They have some of the tastiest margaritas. On Sunday’s they have $ 8 small pitchers which isn’t too bad!
If you’re not very hungry, I would recommend splitting a meal with a friend as the meal
portions tend to be pretty large. I always leave with a generous sized lunch for the next day!
Not to mention their staff is some of THE friendliest I’ve ever come across; accommodating, warm, and generous – they are there to make sure your foodie needs are met!
Another positive thing about Jose is that your food comes out in lightning record time!
The only thing I would recommend is their prices could be lowered just a tad on some of the dishes, but hey, you probably wouldn’t be eating quality food if they were lowered TOO much right? So it’s a good thing they’re somewhat where they are.

Disclaimer: Another Jose location is soon to be opening up on Battlefield, or so I’ve heard. So that’s rather exciting!

While the service and friendly staff are second to none, there’s very little else about Jose Locos that differentiates it from the myriad other Mexican dining options in Springfield. That’s not to suggest that the food isn’t good — it’s absolutely acceptable, and for the price, one would be hard-​pressed to find reason to complain. But it falls far short of spectacular, which is what I expected given the near-​unanimity among rave reviews. I’d be willing to come back, but I won’t go out of my way to make it happen.

Just went to the location on Battlefield and it was TERRIBLE! Gave this one a try because the other location was excellent. First off we thought there would be taco Tuesday, ordered kids enchiladas with no sauce and they were covered in it, I asked for a beef and bean burrito with my cheese enchilada and received plain beef with a cold enchilada, my husbands chicken looked like canned meat (hopefully he doesn’t get sick) and to top it off our server couldn’t figure out how to give us a receipt for our food! Don’t waste your $ 38.

We love this, location. Just tried the new, one on battlefield and it was disgusting. Tasted like pre packageed food on a, fancy plate. Service was slow. We will make the drive up Glenstone for this location every time. Great food. Great service and the best margaritas we have ever had.

Food was good, but service is ROUGH. I understand they are busy, but it took a long time to get our food. Even so, we had to ask several different people for napkins and more salsa. We gave our server our credit card almost fifteen minutes ago. Our server has taken orders at two other tables, exchanged a soda at another, and come back with chips and salsa twice. If he didn’t have my credit card, we would have walked out a long time ago.

Missing my Hispanic food (from California) and got my fair fix here! I’ll be back again, probably with a group! Path was my waiter and she was phenomenal! You can bet she got a hefty tip from us!

Came here after a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Everything we had was well seasoned, generously portioned, and fairly priced. Excited to come back and try more menu items! Would recommend and definitely coming back!

Bless this place. I’ve been searching for a Mexican restaurant since I moved here that stands up to par with the restaurant I’m in love with in my old town. this one is just about as good as I could get, it’s still not the same but it’s still amazing! Friendly and fast service and the food was so good! I ordered some kind of chicken and shrimp combo with a side of queso and I was in heaven. the only complaint was that the table was a little small to hold all of the food! Seriously though they gave us so much and it wasn’t very expensive. Will definitely eat here again!

Our after church lunch group stopped in here one Sunday, and we liked it a lot. They were able to accommodate our large group (8) with no problem. Our waiter had 2 large groups, us and a birthday party next to each other in the same area, and he was a crack up. Very friendly, helpful, and funny. Food was served quick and correctly. Price was very decent. Place was clean. It was an enjoyable experience, and I believe they will be in our regular after church lunch rotation. We recommend them.

I just am not a fan of this place. I am spoiled maybe or I just have high standards. Lol.
My husband loves it. My grandmother, brothers-​in-​law, father-​in-​law, and so many others love it. Not me. I am not a fan of Texmix. I love authentic Mexican food.
Here they over season everything and it really doesn’t matter what you order cuz it all tastes the same. The fish tacos are over seasoned diced pieces on a bed of shredded lettuce. Yuck! When I asked for my chicken tacos to not be seasoned apparently the chef didn’t think I knew what I liked and seasoned them anyway.
This visit, the waitress never refilled our glasses and I had to go get more napkins cuz the one wrapped around the silverware was all we were given.
The two stars represent the décor which is nice.

I really love this place. The staff is friendly, and the food is great. It’s a great place to go, if you are in a hurry, as the service is fast, without sacrificing great taste. If I’m dropping by at lunch, I like to sit at the bar. They always remember a face, and are happy to see you!

We found this restraunt two Sundays ago. We have been back twice since then. The offer authentic Mexican food. Food is very well seasoned. The salsa they offer has a nice mild heat. Chips were very fresh. Service was very fast and very friendly. We were able to get in, order, and eat within 45 minutes.

Taco Tuesday is amazing!!! Chicken or beef tacos for $ 1. Great speedy lunch to get you through the beginning of the week funk! Take friends. Go early. My friend topped off with ten tacos! Have you seen anyone eat more in one sitting… and go back to work?!

Favorite Mexican restaurant in Springfield so far.

Food is always delicious one of my favorite Mexican places in town. I had the burrito hayo. Filled with beef shrimp avacado fries and a cheesy white sauce. Buritto was definitely sloppy but delicious. I recommend getting a steak knife to make it easier to eat…

Chicken enchiladas were pretty good. Shrimp tacos were pretty dried. The prices are way too high for the amount of food you get.

They brought us the wrong order twice. The third time they came back, they had my friend’s orders (still wrong, mind you, but my friends accepted it) and didn’t even have my meal. The waiter said «where’s your tacos?»… In a way that sounded like he was upset with me that I didn’t have my food… What?
This whole place has me confused. Weirdest service ever.

Fantastic friendly service. Tamales are great. Chicken with Chipotle Cream is a family favorite. My wife loves the Grilled chicken and shrimp.

I was driving from branson mo to kc mo. My regular route up 65 to 44 to 13. I needed dinner so I turned on Unilocal.I was directed many miles off the hiway. Best decision ever. The food was amazing. Mix the hot salsa with the mild for a great medium salsa. The best part of the experience was the service. There where people in black shirts everywhere. I had at least 5 people interact with me. Unilocal did me right again. Solid 5 stars. Well worth the drive.
The shrimp tacos were amazing. $ 8. Great deal.
