I cannot say enough good things about Kaleidoscope! I have gotten both of my tattoos here, and I recently got my first piercing from here. Ryan has done both of my tattoos, and I only want him to ever do mine! He is amazing at what he does! So nice and professional! Ben pierced my daith, and he made the experience so calm! He was so professional, and explained the procedure and healing process so well. Everyone that works here is always so nice and helpful, and I really appreciate that! Such a wonderful local shop that I wall always go to!

I’ve had 6 piercings done here, 4 by Ben, 2 by Eddie. Both guys are super nice and it’s very clean. You can definitely go get piercings cheaper elsewhere but it’s worth the extra $$ to ensure a good experience in a clean establishnent. They are very knowledgeable and willing to take time and answer questions. They are also willing to change out jewelry for no charge. Definitely a good place to go for piercings.

Very fun place for gag gifts and everything in between. I have seen the pierces get a Lil attitude with people when they get busy like they are being put out by people. But overall great place

I had lost a nose ring and was too lazy to go buy a new one for a few weeks. I’m sorta new to town but I drive by kaleidoscope every day on my way to work, so I figured I’d pop in one day on my way home. I walked in and was immediately distracted by all the fun novelty stuff, as well as how clean and organized the store was.
I wandered over to the piercing counter and was promptly helped. I always get the same jewelry so I can’t speak to how great the selection is, but they had exactly what I wanted and for cheaper than usual. Since my piercing had been out for a while, the girl at the counter recommended that I have the piercer insert it for me, so I roamed around and tried to talk myself out of buying yet another purse with skulls on it while I wait. A few minutes later, I was called back to the piercing room which was clean and everything the piercer did was hygienic. I was in, out and on my way in just a few minutes. Was everyone so friendly that they wanted to stick around and chat? No, but they were as helpful as I needed them to be and would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a piercing or a unique gift.

Kaleidoscope is a unique find native to Springfield since the 1970’s. They have gifts, clothing, shoes, jewelry, and more adventurous finds in their adult boutique, Eros, next door. The staff is very professional– in a head shop sometimes I think that people forget that there are constant and ever changing rules these folks have to keep up with so they stick to them. The piercers are some of the best trained in the nation and the tattooers are great to boot. You have to see Ryan if you’re getting a tattoo. The staff is nice and won’t make you feel like you should turn around and run if it’s your first tattoo, unlike a lot of shops in town. If you’re bored or need a unique gift check this place out :)

Disregard the reviewer trying to claim that Cosmic Fish has a better body jewelry selection than Kaleidoscope; they’re obviously just here to make sure Cosmic Fish can ride on the coattails of Kaleidoscope’s popularity by name dropping them in the review you see here. You can simply visit the Kaleidoscope Facebook page and see that they offer super high quality jewelry and have an ENORMOUS selection. Their staff are knowledgeable and will bend over backwards or even do the hokey pokey to make customers happy.
In addition to their huge jewelry selection, they also have a very large variety of products in their smoke shop and one of the more classy adult stores in town. Oh, and the clothes! I can’t think of many places in town where I can fins a new dress, get pierced, purchase a pipe and purchase items for a bachelorette party all in the same place. And! They sell the absolute best coffee in town.
This place is a Springfield staple — which is why they’ve been around for over 4 decades.

Prefer cosmic fish. This place never has a good selection of gauges and just never liked the «feel» of this place. Check out cosmic fish first!

The wife decided that she wanted to get her navel pierced so we made our way here. Much to our surprise the facility was extremely clean and the customer service was top notch. Qui Qui did my wife’s piercing and we were both super impressed with not only his skill but also with his thoroughness and knowledge when we had questions. Very professional guy and I would recommend my grandma to see him. Anyways very great experience and glad we chose the best in Springfield to do her piercing!

Hands down, favorite place to shop. The piercings are super cheap and the clothes are adorable. I only go back for the piercers and the piercings.

I recently got my first micro dermals done here by Qui Qui and I must say, out of all the piercings I’ve had over the years, he was definitely one of the best piercers I’ve had. He was very quick with the piercing itself (I actually got 2 done) so the pain was minimal as well as the bleeding and even hours after getting them done there was no pain or redness. This is the 2^nd time I’ve gotten a piercing at Kaleidoscope and I will say they are very clean, friendly, and knowledgeable about what they’re doing. I would seriously recommend Qui Qui to anyone looking to get a cute new piercing and if I decide to get anymore piercings I will certainly be going back to Kaleidoscope.

Always go to Kaleidoscope for piercings, tattooing, or smoking supplies. Friendly staff and really laid back atmosphere. Qui Qui pierced my nose and is always helpful if I need a piercing changed. Got my first tattoo from Josh and he was totally chill and professional. Love shopping here!

Kaleidoscope is a great. This place is a Springfield GEM. They have a great selection of incense, glass, and clothing… I always take friends here to shop around and see the new merch they have. The workers are very friendly and always kind.
I got both my tattoos here and a piercing… I was not ripped off. SHOP LOCAL keep LOCAL businesses thriving…

It’s not only uncool to steal someone elses portfolio photos, but it is also illegal. It has been brought to my attention that this shop tried to steal one of my photos along with another shops and pass it off as their own work. They might have gotten away with it if it hadn’t been the photo I placed in in last years Earmageddon contest. If it happens again, they’ll be hearing from my lawyer.

I really enjoy shopping at Kaleidoscope! Everytime I have been in there, I have received the best customer service. Also, Tom and his wife are super nice, and that is one of the things that has kept me coming back again and again.

I love this shop! It has a lot of good, eclectic things. I trust them with all of my piercings too, which is quite a big deal!

Back in the late 90s/​early 00s Kaleidoscope employed a piercer named Ryan, one of the hottest men ever to grace the Earth. I paid to have holes put in my navel, nipple and right ear cartilage just to have his beautiful, patchouli accented fingers touch me. Good old days.
Since Ryan left and Kaleidoscope moved from the half-​standing shack to the new place they have lost some of their edge. The old place had nag champa practically bleeding from the ceiling, walking up the rickety staircase to the piercing area and smoke shop meant taking your life in your hands, and the stereo system in the shack rocked, literally and figuratively. I’m sure they are still the best place in town for incense, 420 supplies, body jewelry, sex toys and racy pop-​up cards featuring naked 500lb women eating birthday cake, but I’m afraid their true glory days are behind them.

I remember when I was kid going here and giggling over the penis shaped cookie cutters. I had no idea what the bongs or bowls were, and that never seemed to matter to me. Now I live in San Francisco and we have several blocks of this store on a street called Haight, and I can appreciate Kaleidoscope a bit more for bringing a bit of that to southern Missouri. But still, this just isn’t my kind of place.

The place to go to get a funny card for just about any occasion. They also have a bunch of Rock T’s, funny T’s, jewelery, stickers, and ton’s of other stuff. I think they have a piercing studio there too, really cool place.
