I don’t normally post reviews but I seriously felt the need to today. I’ve always gotten my glasses here but lately the service has been the worst. Aren’t sales people supposed to help you choose glasses? I received absolutely no help. The salesperson was not friendly, mumbled the entire time and gave an attitude. If you hate your job so much, why work here? If I could give 0 stars I would.

I wanted to give this zero stars, but Unilocal wouldnt let me. Dr. DiGiacomo is arrogant and dangerous. He tried to convince me(for 30 minutes straight) to switch to a brand of contacts that i know i am gravely allergic to. He was so aggressive about it that i can only assume he is being paid a commission by the pharmaceutical company. To add insult to injury, he pressured me to order my contacts thru his office(instead of 1−800-CONTACTS, where i normally order them and where they take only 1 – 2 days to arrive from), because«it will be much faster through my office.» Well, five days later, his office has my money, my contacts have still not arrived, and no one can seem to track the package. I had to call his office SIX times in one morning because no one will return any calls, even after they say they will. When i asked to have the tracking number and do it myself, the receptionist refused. When i asked to speak to the doctor about the situation she told me «that isnt how it works here. He will not talk to you.» At this moment, the situation remains unresolved. I am attempting to work with the other doctor there to at least track the package, but she told me i would have to wait for any further help until she saw all of her patients for the day. This office is incompetent and seriously dangerous to any patient unwilling to really stand up for themselves. After being a LensCrafters patient for over 15 years, i will unfortunately never go to one again.

This review is for the optometrist office affiliated with this LensCrafters. I had an appointment BUT I had to wait 2HOURS for the doctor to see me. I was told by the receptionist that they often see walk-ins before customers who had appointments. [WTF?! What’s the point of making an appointment then?] The prescreening part was as expected. However, I didn’t see the forehead and chin rest wiped off. The chair did not adjust for height so the posture for the tests were uncomfortable. I headed to the wait room. While I read a magazine from a 6-month old magazine in the small waiting area, I had to hear a very long conversation between the receptionist and her friend about the Nissan she was going to buy. There was some ramblings about a baby bump… They were loud. This was very unprofessional. I think they need to train their staff. I finally got to see the optometrist. She was very frazzled. She rushed me through. She was likely hungry since there were opened packages of granola bar on the counter. After it was over, the actual eye-glass store was already closed. The sales associates were vacuuming and the doors were locked. We had to wait for my prescription to be printed out since the doctor forgot to do so. Ten minutes later, I ordered my glasses. Thank goodness the sales team at the LensCrafters store were fairly fast. Take home message: Stay away from the optometrist office, but the store front is actually ok.

The fact about waiting a while after your appointment is scheduled is correct. I had to wait about 25 minutes for mine. I have never used LensCrafters for an eye examination before but the experience, other than the wait, was pleasant. The staff was helpful, friendly, and the doctor answered all my questions. They have state of the art and modern equipment, including the OptoMat, which takes a picture of your eye and cuts out the need to use eye drops. Which is good, because I HATE eye drops! Haha. They helped me with insurance questions and the staff helped me pick out glasses, as well. They dealt with my indecisiveness and didn’t seem to get impatient. Even took pictures of me in two different glasses, so I could see myself side by side. Nice service!

The objective was to get an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. Because I hadn’t been to my old eye doctor in years, I was fairly certain I was too old for him as he technically specialized in kids and young adults. So off to Lenscrafters I went, while home for Thanksgiving. I had no idea how a Lenscrafters worked as far as staff on hand and equipment, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the attached doctor’s office(Dr. Paver) was equipped with more state of the art tech than my old eye caregiver. The technological highlight for me was a camera that took a highly detailed picture of the eye and displayed it immediately. That already sounds cool, but considering that it replaced the process of getting your eyes dilated and then probed with a plastic telescope, this is upgraded to «fantastic.» My eyes checked out and I got a prescription for new glasses, which I took into the Lenscrafters proper to have filled. Using a 50% off coupon I just received from the doctor’s office(thank you), I selected a new rig that makes me look like a hipster from the not-too-distant future. Which was, of course, exactly what I was going for. They’re shipping the glasses, once completed, up to Boston so I can pick them up at my convenience. How’s that for service? Overall, a great experience.
