Used to go there on a regular basis for lunch of shepherds pie, fish and chips and typical pub food. Figured I’d try the new place for fish and chips. Very disappointed in what could pass for fish fingers. Batter not crisp and fish tasteless. Food in earlier trips not gourmet but passable. Hopefully at some time in future they’ll get act together. Server was very nice.

Corned beef and cabbage is a classic Irish dish and it was not good. The corned beef was very thin, pink, and rubbery. An Irish pub should have mastered this dish. Also, the cabbage was way too soft. Also, the waitress was very slow and couldn’t give us a pen when we wanted to pay by credit card.

The food and beer selection is average at best, but what makes this place less than average is the poor service. Went here on a Thursday night and I must have waited about 25 – 30 minutes to get any kind of service. When I tried to flag down the waitress, she immediately turned her back to me and walked away.

Lousy service we sat in an empty dining room 20 minutes without being waited on!!! Never again!

Loved the old Place — nice job on the renovations but so far the food does not compare to the level I recall — terrible ribeye, slow service even when the place is empty and some very weird drugged out locals — no longer my neighborhood go to for good burgers and tavern steaks

Heard about new owner and renovations. Really wanted to give a local restaurant business. So sad that they can’t get their act together in the dining room. Visited tonite, Friday nite, dinner hour. Two in wait-staff with one in training. None of them could get out of there own way. The fun began when they got our bar order wrong. Never read us the specials… Got worse as 3 tables, including ours, had to get our own ketchup and more napkins from bus station —(containers all empty). Fun continued when restaurant was invaded by «Christmas Carolers», one on guitar, who proceeded from table to table with Santa hat held out asking for $$$$. Disruptive and inappropriate!!! Who gave them permission to come in? Saw them later down the street going into Picante restaurant. But the show really began when the waitress went off loudly on a guest who dared to request/complain — The first time the manager showed her face — Maybe she was in the bar area??? Not sure cause she never made her way to the back til guest asked for her! Never saw«Nicholas». Can’t fault the waiter/or waitress in training(‘cept the one who yelled at guest) as they were clearly overwhelmed and under trained! Oh– and the food? Meh… all the drama overshadowed what may have been a reason to return.

Bravo Nicholas! Change is good! Excellent renovation that compliments the upgraded menu. The colors and contrast create a theme that puts one in a very relaxing mood making the dining experience much more pleasurable. Great to see the same attentive and polite staff is back. All the best to the new Mclynns! Ray

As much as I don’t want to, I have to lower my rating. The improvements that were promised is not happening fast enough to this potentially great pub. I had high hopes for this place because I so loved the customers and the new owner. I still do but haven’t seen any real changes to menu, which I was told was going to be modernized and soon. Then one day I was driving by and saw a dude with a sandwich board advertising half price drinks. Oh boy. Where’s the modern gastro pub? Updated food? Push the physical renovations(which is needs) back and focus on the food, please. I still like the place but if the menu doesn’t change soon, not sure I’ll keep coming back.

I wish this was my neighborhood watering hole! Sadly I live about 4.5 hours south but this Irish pub still has a special place in my heart for sure. One of the best things about this place is the craft beer selection on tap, in bottles, and in cans. For any IPA-guzzling beer snob there’s a great selection for great prices to get you good and proper. The best thing? A few bottles and a good list of cans are on special starting at $ 3, which I was blown away by. 90 Minute IPA Dogfish Head bottles for $ 3?! Name one other bar where you could get that beer for that price, I DAREYOU; BAMBI(shouts to Nicki Minaj). How ’bout Sculpin for $ 3? HUHWHATWHERE?! Here at McLynn’s you can get 90 Minute, Sculpin, and other great beers on the cheap. It’d be great to visit often and see what rotates on special and try some new brews. The owner, Nick, has a great philosophy about pricing these craft beers so that people aren’t afraid to drink their favorites and/or try new things. I love the selection of craft beers in cans for a great price too. The bartender was attentive and the regulars were friendly. Looking at the pictures of food, though, makes me want to come back to eat here. They will be doing renovations so I”m excited to see the changes coming soon.

We went in the afternoon on a weekday. Only one person was there to tend the bar and wait on all the tables. I had the Shepard’s Pie and it was mediocre. My boyfriend had the BLT which was very good(the bacon was amazing). Overall a very«meh» experience.

This place is awesome. Came with family and friends and both times we had a blast. The bartender was attentive and the owner was always friendly. We also had the guinness cheesecake the first time we were there and it was very tastey. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by! You won’t be disappointed!

I go because I live in town and its a decent enough Irish place. However, I think food can be a bit pricy for what you really get. Very rarely do they have beer specials.

Great neighborhood bar and plenty of craft beer selections under new ownership. I came with the family on a Saturday night and the band was popping! Although the bar was packed, the bartender was very attentive. We had a bunch of beers which I’ve never had before… and I’m a total craft beer snob. I enjoyed a lot of local NJ brews. The kitchen was closed when we got there but we got some bread pudding and Guinness cheesecake with a peanut butter crust. they get it from the bakery across the street. The vibe was awesome! I’ll definitely try the food next time.

Lovely Irish pub, tasty food and attentive & courteous service from our server, Dana. We had the chili, spinach and artichoke dip & a Guinness cheesecake. The drinks flowed & Dana frequently checked in to see if we wanted more or anything else. In addition, we were treated to Joe Taino’s live acoustic performance(guitar). We were happy to hear they are planning to make a nice establishment even better with a renovation — new hardwood floors & a new sound system.

Food was terrible, I felt like they did not want me there. My chicken was very tough, I don’t remember the last time I had chicken that hard to chew from a restaurant. My shrimp was unbelievably salty, unreal. I rinsed it off with water and it was still salty. I almost feel like this was all done on purpose. No business!

Love their food! Definitely the best buy in town for miles around. Very inexpensive and delicious – especially their specials. Still a great inexpensive place for good food and pleasant Irish décor. My favorite place in the area. Dinner specials are great, especially fish dishes.

Parking Lot in the back makes this a convenient choice. The lunch menu always has daily specials and there’s a fair selection of choices. The salads are really big and and sandwiches are filling but not to heavy. I went with the Grilled Chicken on a roll this time, I’ve been twice now and will return.

They put time and care into the preparation of their food, so if that means a short wait, trust me that it is worth it. Steak or shepherd’s pie are my favorites, and of course a Guinness on draft. The only downside is that service can be spotty, depending on who’s working tables. Occasionally I’ve gotten my food after people who ordered well after I did.

Your typical run of the mill Irish pub. Typical draft beers. Typical locals sitting at the bar for happy hour. Typical menu-burgers, sandwiches, and«American entrees» like crab cakes. Overall, I’ve been here for dinner and what you see is what you get. Decent meal-nothing to brag about but at a decent price. The burgers we got were average. Overall, good for a decent meal but I wouldn’t set out to go here.
