Microtel Inn Springfield

Linens, floors, bed, and shower all very clean. Room smelled good. pets allowed for a $ 15 fee. Staff was polite. Good deal from Priceline: $ 60/​night. Room includes coffee pot, closet and drawers, flat screen tv, clothes iron, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. Comfortable bed. Good shower water pressure. Great value for the price!

I rated this hotel a 3 star with everything considered. I probably would return to this hotel for one good reason. Cleanliness. I know this because I wasn’t up all night with a stuffy head.
There were good and bad points to this hotel that I will share with you.
The Good: 1) The staff is very friendly and

2) It is updated.
3) Very Clean
4) Right off the interstate.
5) Its a great deal. Affordable
The Bad: 1) The continental breakfast is so
Small and effortless, it is an
Obvious promotion ploy.
2) There is a placard in each room
that list what you will be charged
If you take anything.
I.e. Rag $ 5.00, Alarm clock
$ 50.00.
(It is an industry problem with
Guests stealing rags and towels,
Etc. And it kills any profit for the
Given room).
Recommendation: Charge for
Items removed, but only charge
Item cost. This will go a long
way in maintaining credibility.
3) I checked into my room with
Only a ¼ roll of toilet paper.
With a wife and a grandson,
This lasted thru the night, but
ran out. But I will not charge
$ 50.00 for the inconvienance.
Summary: Overall its a good hotel, and I would stay hear again.

This place is amazing! Cleanest place for an amazing price. Lady at the front desk at night was very nice. Will come back again for sure.

Listen, Jack. This is not a 4 star hotel in the literal sense where you’ll have an awesome restaurant on site, or where there will be a concierge service. Microtel has always been a budget minded motel best suited to either single travelers or at the most — two travelers. This location is no different than any others I’ve stayed at, but a few points:
Location: 4 out of 5
If you’re passing through Springfield for the evening, this is right north of the highway. Maybe not the most obvious to spot visually, but once you follow the signs, you’ll see where it is. Plenty of free parking all around the motel with a gas station nearby. If you want something to eat, there’s a Waffle House right across the parking lot; otherwise, you’ll have to drive just a little bit.
Customer Service: 4 out of 5
I might have lucked out with this one, because when I checked in, it seemed like another franchisee was trying to check in as well, so the lady working the front desk was super attentive and scripted. She even did the standard call up to the room five minutes after checking in to make sure that I had everything that I needed. Listen — I don’t need anyone calling me to make sure that I’m ok — if I have any issues, I’ll come around and ask for help on my own, but the touch was nice.

Oh yeah, I was upgraded to a nicer room with a microwave AND a fridge. Daaannnng, son. The toiletries are commensurate with other budge hotels. Shampoo in little packets, face soap, towels that are a little on the scratchy side. The ubiquitous day bed along the window was there, as was the TV mounted high up and at an angle to save space. My tablet had no issues picking up the WiFi signal, either.
Condition and Cleanliness: 4.5 out of 5
Actually — this particular room that I was in was clean and newer looking. The carpet wasn’t worn through, it seemed to be well maintained, and there weren’t unsightly lines on the shower curtains or dirty grout. Hrm.
Price: 3.5 out of 5
Commensurate with all other Microtels. I think I paid about 55 inclusive of all fees and taxes. IF you find the coupons online or at the rest stop magazines, you can probably drop this down even more.

Yes, it’s a Microtel, but if you know what you’re getting into, you really won’t be disappointed. Perfect for a one night stop.

I really wanted to give them 4 stars, very clean, small place, friendly desk, nice room and best wifi ever but place is just a little plain, excellent rate with coupon

Not a whole lot to say about this place. The bed and linens were comfortable and everything was clean. Not the NICEST place I’ve ever stayed but I truely had no complaints (especially for the price!) I’d have no problem staying here again.
