I was looking on line to see the hours for tomorrow and I noticed there was just a 2.5 Unilocal rating and I thought wow how could that be??? I read the the 2 stars review and just couldn’t believe the prediction that this location would die. I sincerely hope not! I really don’t like paying extra for delivery and the worry of food sitting outside my house. I’ve never had a problem parking here. I do plan to spend 10 minutes getting helped, because you are individually helped and can ask questions it takes a little longer. The salesclerks are very pleasant and happy to answer questions. I see complaints about the quality, yet I don’t see that anyone took it back to the store manager. They stand behind their products and will take it back if you’re not happy, I know because we’ve done it. I have to admit we buy during the specials because the prices are better and are usually very happy. We like the 5 oz filets and the 5oz burgers the best and my dogs are crazy about their dog biscuits! If I visit tomorrow and the place is disgusting and filthy, I get sick from the product or they don’t have it and the sales clerks are rude and unhelpful, I will come back and edit my 4 star review.

I was a Big OS catalog customer(website) back in tha day, so I went in to see if I could get some bone-in 14 oz. Strips. There were 2 other customers and a delivery man ion the store all waiting to be helpeed. So I browsed around a bit and left. Meh customer Service. I will order online if I need help quickly. This location is gonna die. Horrible Parking lot.

Louis B, I’m in total agreement with you! Why do the few Unilocalers who visited this location hate Omaha Steaks? I’m a fan! My boyfriend gets one of the Omaha Steak package deals for a gift every year, so I’ve had their products in the past and have enjoyed them. Now, I don’t disagree that going to a butcher is better, but sometimes you just don’t feel like leaving the house and having that delicious vacuum-packed goodness just waiting for you in the freezer is a delicious sight. I’ve had the bacon-wrapped fillets, chicken, plain fillets, burgers, and stuffed baked potatoes in the past. They were all pretty good!(And coming from someone who loves her steak, this is saying a lot.) That being said, I’ve purposely avoided going in Omaha Steaks for a while now since I know I’d spend a lot of money. They were having some good deals for Black Friday, so I decided to stop in and check it out, hopefully finding a gift for my dad.(He’s so hard to shop for!) I was surprised to see that the store wasn’t overly busy for the«holiday,» and I was immediately greeted by one of the workers. I confessed to her that I didn’t know what I was looking for and she was able to point me in the right direction. Porterhouses and bacon-wrapped fillets — perfect for my dad! The only real complaint that I had was that she got a little pushy with her«is there anything else you’d like?» or «how about something for yourself?» mind games. I’d like to say«I’ll have one of everything!» but my wallet wouldn’t allow it. But since I’m a sucker, I did walk out of there with a few things for myself.(Salted caramel brownies? Yes, please.) I walked out of Omaha Steaks feeling pretty good. I will definitely consider going back here for gifts(for myself and others) in the future, ESPECIALLY if there’s a good sale going on.

After reading some of the disparaging comments about Omaha Steaks spanning a few years, I decided to come in and pay them a visit. My only interaction with Omaha Steaks was through the mail when I sent a package to a friend and they raved about it. Still, I was ready to be unimpressed based on the ratings. That changed quickly. Apparently the company has instituted a new business model as fewer people indulge into red meats as a food staple. Omaha still has the old offerings of filet mignon and other red meats, but in addition, they now feature fully prepared, upscale frozen selections including fish, chicken, legumes and vegetables. So I bought three different menus, all reasonably priced, and brought them home. The first dish I opened was a selection of stuffed chicken that was absolutely delicious. Although microwavable, the best way to cook them is in the oven. In addition, I also warmed up a delicious black bean soup, which I doctored up with some Cuban spices. Put together with some steamed broccoli and white rice it made for a delicious meal. My next«I’m too lazy to cook«day came in a few days later. I opened up their package of Hickory Smoked Salmon Fillets. It was superb. And oh yes, I did buy a couple of the packages of fillet mignon.

I agree with Michael and I am not going to be gracious enough to give a second star. The meats were all tough and flavorless. The pricing is absolutely ridiculous for what amounts to supermarket grade quality. Their sides are equally unappealing.

Ok, so I’m absolutely boggled why people are so in love with this place. It is a complete and total rip off. If you can’t find better local steak you must live in India. Neat fact — they actually have a stand in the airport in Omaha. I’ve tried several offerings from this place with gift certificates given to me from friends, and I just don’t get it. The meat is frozen, for starters, and yes, it’s vacuum packed, but even with careful defrosting you’re not getting the same taste as fresh steak. I will give you the meat is tender, but seriously — six four ounce fillets are $ 84 plus shipping, so figure $ 100. That’s over $ 65 a pound! You can get good Kobe for that!(Note — not great Kobe, but good Kobe). Plus the taste just isn’t there to warrant this price. I guess I’m spoiled buying from Burt’s Farms up in Gilbertsville, but his meat is delicious, you actually taste depth and flavor. Heck I can tell whether the cattle are grain fed or grass fed when I buy his fresh meat as you can literally taste the undertones in the meat itself. Not so here. I mean, yes, it’s good, but not $ 65 a pound good. I’ll spend $ 28 a pound and get some prime aged ribeye at Wegmans any day versus fillets from here. Oh, I do notice their dog treats are $ 5.99. For 3 oz. Hmm — that’s OVER $ 30 A POUND. Save your money and just buy your dog prime aged ribeye at Wegman’s. It’s cheaper and tastes better!
