Kicking 2016 off early Friday morning, Mike and I decided to let someone else cook us breakfast so we headed to #eatlocal at the Parkway Café. I’ve eaten here numerous times over the years, but this was the first time in a while so I kept it simple. Two egg combo with bacon, hash browns and toast. $ 6 for breakfast! That’s a deal. My eggs were cooked perfectly over easy and the hash browns were crispy in parts and didn’t taste of oil. Bacon was crispy and delicious and my rye toast(not pictured) was over toasted, but still edible. I’m giving the Parkway four stars for consistent and tasty food over the years, breakfast all day, and reasonable pricing.

Burnt hash browns with a tiny bit of onion and green pepper in top(80 cents extra). You should be ashamed to charge extra for the scant amount of vegetables you put on the hash browns! Weak coffee and limp toast. At least the eggs were edible.

Good stuff, met friends last night. Tea glass never got less than half full(good thing after a hot day) and my simple hamburger and fries was very good and tasty. Will come back for more elaborate dinner soon.

Quaint friendly little country place. Authentic fresh eggs and sausage patties. French toast made w real butter and the fresh eggs. Presentation might not look like the bigger chains, but food had a lot more flavor. Staff is super super friendly. Manager/Owner come around to say hi and see how you liked your food. This Chicago native is coming back on next trip to Springfield.

This is just basic food, nothing spectacular. I have been here three times within a couple of months of each other. The first time the service was great and food was cooked well. Second time was nothing to write home about. The third and last time(I will not be going again) was terrible. Service was VERY slow. Took a rather long time to get our food. I asked for crispy bacon and the bacon I was served was barely even cooked. Tried to find our waitress but to no avail. I mentioned the experience as we were paying the bill and all the girl could say was, «She has a big table to take care of.» So I guess we weren’t important enough since there was only two of us.

This has always been a cozy family favorite spot. A huge menu offering Homestyle everything and local favorites. Their breakfast menu is fantastic. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. I’ve had many delicious meals here. Their milkshakes and desserts are delicious! The only meal I don’t recommend is their fried chicken because I thought it was really dry, but their mashed potatoes are real and with the gravy… it’s yum yum! Get the meatloaf instead.

Good but don’t go out of your way. Basic food. Have had salad and a horseshoe. They were OK. Cheap too. Servers are really nice!

Great food! A friendly home town atmosphere in a world of impersonal fast food. Loved the pork tenderloin sandwich, not on the menu, just ask for it. Onion rings the way they should be, fresh made, beer battered, done just right. I lived in Springfield many years ago, the Parkway Café is just like the home owned eateries that I remember and so rarely find anywhere else.

You’ve just arrived at the north side of Springfield. You’re likely greeted by a chain of chain restaurants just off the highway, but you’re craving something a little slower and a little more local. Leann’s Parkway Café(the name says a lot, doesn’t it?) boasts a large menu replete with solid choices and good service to boot.
