I ate there before and it was good, but today they didn’t answer their phone for a carry-​out order so I ate somewhere else.

We start to walk in the door and a guy literally runs up and tells us «we’re closed». It’s 2:15 on a Saturday and their posted hours are until 3:00. Steer clear if their food is as bad as their attitude.

Good service. Spicy black eyed pea soup — very good, cleared my sinuses. Scarsdale salad very good.

Wonderful dinner, reasonably priced, good natured service. My wife had the pork special, I had a salad and a cup of soup. Each had two glasses of wine and I had a coke. Split a piece of chocolate cream pie. $ 46. Go find all of that for the great price. Situated right in front of the old capital building,

My brother and I tried to have lunch here on a Friday while on a break from a conference. The place was full and only had three people working. We waited patiently to be seated. One of the servers barked at us to take an open table for two. When we tried to explain that there was a woman in front of us, he rudely complained that no one would take the open table. We finally agreed to sit down at the table after being yelled at again., even though the table was full of food scraps from the previous customers. After no one approached to even clear the table after a few minutes, we questioned why we would give a place that had treated us so rudely our money. Needless to say, we left.

I happened to be passing through Springfield on my way home and originally wanted to eat at The Feed Store next door because it had great reviews on here. Well, apparently they are not open on Saturdays (even though their window says they are!), so I was forced to eat at Robbie’s. Not really forced, of course, but it was one of the restaurants open on the same street so my Mom and I thought we would give it a try.
I really wish I could nominate this restaurant for Restaurant Impossible… that’s the first thought I had in my head when I walked in the door. The décor is incredibly outdated. I was greeted by a server and was told to sit wherever we would like. This later became an issue with the waitstaff, because they weren’t sure which tables were theirs and it was mass confusion. I think someone else wrote about a lack of a hostess in another review.
The food was terrible. And the service was even worse. There weren’t very many people in there for a Saturday lunch, but the service was lacking. It took a while for our server to take our order and then to bring our check. I had the special sloppy joe with a side salad. The sloppy joe wasn’t great and the salad was from a bag.
I would not recommend this restaurant.

Terrible service. As for the food. it was mediocre at best. The only redeeming quality was how nice of a day it was and that we were sitting outside. Beyond that, I would not go back and wish we hadn’t in the first place.

OK, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. My pastrami sandwich had very little pastrami and was only slightly toasted. The chips that were served looked like they came from a bag that had been sat on.

I was here on a Friday night for live music. The place was packed and the music was amazing. I sat at the bar and had drinks and an appetizer. The service was friendly and appetizer (hot wings) was good. Seems like a perfectly friendly place and I will return.

We stopped for a beer and soup late in the day. Beer — Okay. Wine — Okay. Salad — Eh. Soup — Eh.
Robbie’s owner/​waiter was not very friendly considering we were the only people in here. Our beer/​wine/​soup/​salad was $ 25.
