Ate here frequently as a college student(who doesn’t love fresh homemade donuts?) and was back in town on a college visit with my daughter. We stopped by in late afternoon for some snacks for the road and were not disappointed. A huge assortment of different flavors of cupcakes(only $ 1 each too — take that all you cupcake specialty stores that charge $ 2+ each), large delicious cookies, and a big assortment of doughnuts that were still fresh and yummy. They skewer the donut holes on a wooden stick — made it so easy to eat while driving! So soft and delicious and sweet — I’d be here every day if I lived closer! Be sure to stop in!

Schuler’s is… fine. It suffers from being overhyped by locals who enjoy supporting a company that supports the community, but nostalgia taints the taste buds of a people eating this for decades. As the company expanded, the quality of the goods declined. Everything has the same bland, sugary flavor, lacking substance or diversity. You’re not going to go wrong if you want a donut or some cookies, but I wouldn’t suggest traveling a particular distance for it. There are better, smaller bakeries in town for cakes & cupcakes, & bigger chains with better quality for donuts. Try it if someone brings a box to a meeting, but don’t go out of your way.

I currently live in NYC but I’m in the area visiting for the holidays. Schuler’s was recommended to me by a few people. I was immediately excited to try these doughnuts the second I walked into the store and smelled them baking! Schuler’s would be considered a gourmet independent bakery in nyc. Everyone was friendly and of course the doughnuts were beyond delicious! I will go back the next time I’m in town!

Really would like to love this place after all the rave reviews. Bought a cake from there today and couldn’t have been worse. Absolutely lacked flavor and felt like they tried to compensate lack of flavor with a ton of frosting, which just made it worse as frosting was the texture of paste. The worse part was it was overpriced as well. Looks can definitely be deceiving the only thing going is the appealing decorations in cakes and cookies. Only giving two stars as the donuts aren’t terrible, not the best but not the worse. I couldn’t find anything worth going back for.
