I’ve used them 3 times before but have never written a review but today… They moved my baby grand piano and were perfect. I also needed a couple things around the home moved and they were very helpful! Why hire two men when Sierra sent me three. Thanks again Dawn!

Sierra Moving moved my mom and she couldn’t have been happier. The movers were not only professional but personable as well. They were quick and efficient and took care with her stuff.

My problem: A full rental truck in Ozark and movers(another company arranged thru ) were no-shows. I picked Sierra Moving off of . Called Chris and explained my predicament. If I couldn’t get truck unloaded soon, I’d owe another day plus a penalty. Chris said he’d try to round up a crew for me that afternoon. Got a status call an hour or so later – no luck yet, but he’d come himself if he could find one more guy to help. Indeed, the guys arrived a little later and emptied our truck carefully and efficiently. The cost was $ 150, the 2-hour minimum charge. They went above and beyond to help us out. Would use again.

I scheduled movers 2 weeks in advance to arrive at 10:30am. At 10:45am on move day I called to see why they had not arrived. I was told they stopped to move a couch on the way and would be there shortly. At 12:30(2 hours later) I called again, they said they would send a different truck(why didn’t they do that in the first place?). Three miles away, movers arrived at 1:10pm — 2:40 minutes late. We used Powerhouse Movers 4 years ago. They loaded, drove and unloaded us in 2 hours. Sierra movers took 5−½ hours. They stopped for cigarette breaks, one of the guys called his girlfriend to come and take their lunch order and they chatted with her for about 15 minutes. Then she came back and they took a lunch break(at 2:45 in the afternoon), then had a cigarette. About an hour after that they took another break. It’s not like the temperature was extreme, it was 75° that day. Once we they finally drove 1.6 miles to our new home they took nearly 2 hours to unload. During that time they took another smoke break, then shortly afterwards just«took a breather» of a break. No sense of urgency, these guys just took their time and seemed more interested in chatting than moving us. When they finished and figured charges they tried to charge us for 5−½ hours. I mentioned the number of cigarette breaks, lunch break, other breaks and suggested 4 hours. He said«How about 4.25 hours?» I said no, 4 hours. So he wrote 4 hours @ $ 85/hour = $ 361.25.(Actually, 4 hours at $ 85/hour = $ 340.) They overcharged us. I called and spoke to the manager and he sent a check back for the difference, but that should not have happened. So the movers left at 6:00pm and then we had to make 5 trips with our own pick-up truck to get all of the stuff that they didn’t move because they said«it wouldn’t fit in their truck». We had everything in boxes and our biggest furniture was a queen size bed and a love seat, moving to a 900 sq. ft apartment, but they couldn’t fit all of our stuff in their truck? We finally finished at 2:00am. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I was told by a colleague that the guys Sierra Movers hire to move are ex-convicts. Granted, this is hearsay, but now I feel the need to immediately get renters insurance because they know where we live and what we have. Bottom line, if you need a mover, use Powerhouse Moving in Springfield. All movers charge from the time they leave their business until the time they return, and we paid Powerhouse for 1 hour(round trip) to get here and back, but they were still cheaper, faster, and more professional than using Sierra Moving. And, Powerhouse Movers don’t take breaks. [Powerhouse Movers charged us 3 hours @ $ 90/hour = $ 270. I tipped them $ 20 each for a total of $ 310, with an hour of that just being drive time. Powerhouse was $ 30 cheaper and took 1⁄3 the time.] Won’t use Sierra Moving again…
