I might be a little biased in my review of this place, as it is ran by my aunt and uncle. This place has great food, a small, home-like décor that I haven’t seen in a lot of places around the area and is affordable. Service is great, food is even better and I’m confident in saying this is the best home-style restaurant in Springfield and around the area.

Not the most outgoing, friendly service. Having never been there before, I had some questions about the menu and the girl looked at me like I was bothering her by asking a question. I chose this placed based on Unilocal and to support a local establishment while in town for business. Although my cilantro pesto chicken salad was ok, it’s doubtful I’ll be back.

Catering services A+ We just had our wedding catered by them and they did a GREAT job, no complaints, except for the incredible chop job/mangling they did to our cake(even I might have done a bit better than how they hacked it up, but oh well!!) They gave us ONE free certificate(two might have been nice, since we’re a COUPLE!!) for lunch at their restaurant, which is only open M-F for lunch. How to put this… ummm, nicely… you should either a) just use their catering services, or b) steer CLEAR from their daily specials… Yuck! Old lady/school lunch room-tasting food!!! Our«special» was chicken and cheese enchiladas w/salad, «Mexican» rice and beans. I wish I had gotten one of their sandwiches or salads, which sounded better, but I think with the certificate, we might have had to stick to the specials. The grouchy cashier didn’t make it clear… So our«1 free lunch, w/gazpacho(great!!) along w/a second special and two drinks came to $ 16.95!?! Ummmm, ok, but Burger King and Mike an Rosey’s Deli are right around the corner… hint, hint!!!

A nice simple, quiet place to eat a meal and read a book. I ordered the Pepper Jack, Turkey & Avocado grilled cheese. Folks it was REAL turkey, not that nasty sliced stuff from the grocery store. Plenty of cheese as well. If I got it again I would ask for mayo on the bread, but that is a personal preference and not needed. I also got the macaroni salad & reg. potato salad for sides. I enjoyed them both, but won’t get the macaroni salad again just because it wasn’t as sweet as I prefer it. Prices seemed a little high for the setting and the fact that it isn’t a full service restaurant. The sandwich was $ 7 with chips & a pickle, but it was the sides I felt where a little high. $ 3 for two ¼ cup(maybe ½) sized sides and I think for how small they were $ 1 a piece would’ve been more appropriate. You order at the register, but there is no sign telling you this. It wasn’t to hot and I run warm, but once it gets even hotter out I hope they bump up the air. The gentleman near me had some type of salad with grilled chicken and sauteed veggies that looked amazing. I will definitely go back and try something new next time.

This is a catering company that during certain hours has a small restaurant in the front. It is small,(like 6 tables) but it is well worth the time to stop in. Their food was wonderful. I ordered the special(stuffed pork chop, green beans, scalloped potato’s and roll for 10.95. The portions they brought out were giant. I had to take most of it home with me. I also tried a cup(more like a bowl) of chili, it was very good. My husband got the bacon grilled cheese on sourdough with a cup of potato soup. He loved his sandwich and soup! If you have the time, stop in the food and even the staff are worth the time. The staff were very polite and accommodating.
