Great food, great people! The only down fall is the take out. I ordered 4 chicken Phở’s and when I got home, the amount of noodles and sprouts were minimal and the spring rolls had no pork or mint in them. Very disappointed in the take out food, won’t do it again. When you eat in house, food is unbelievable!!!

My mother and I were up visiting my brother in Enfield, Connecticut. We needed to find a place to eat for dinner. I can across this place on Unilocal and the reviews/ratings are spot on. They have awesome food! Hands down some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. The flavors and quality are on point. Also the girl that served us helped us out so much since my mom is a vegetarian. Great place! I have already recommended this place and I will make a point to go back when I’m in the area again.

Our first time at a Vietnamese restaurant. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. We chose the clay pot shrimp and the butter fried chicken wings. Both very good however the clay pot shrimp won table favorite.

Small shrine in the corner of the entrance, old men in gossiping while their phones ring off the hook with Vietnamese songs, oddly enough this was a good sign for me as it reminded me of the homeland. I was ecstatic to see that they had thai tea, along with a vast selection of other smoothies and drinks. I asked the waiter for his preference between the bun thit nuong and bun bo hue, he suggested the latter with no hesitation. I also ordered extra cha on the side. The bowl came out piping hot, which meant they either microwaved it or the food is fairly fresh(I’m sticking with the second explanation). Typical me, I burned my tongue while sipping the soup but it had a minimal amount of spiciness(there is chili sauce on the side to add). Needless to say I very much enjoyed the dish. As a spoiled Floridian, I would have appreciated some stronger air conditioning in here because the combination of the heat from the dish and the weather caused me to sweat bullets. The waiter saw my sweating and kindly brought out extra napkins, which added to the tip I was going to give him. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, no problems in that area. They will definitely be seeing more of me in the future!

Everything one wants in great cuisine. Atmosphere is the only draw back. I prefer warm spaces however the quality of the food will keep me coming back.

Excellent!!! The food was delicious and the service was perfect!!! Anne and I were wrapping up a day of charity and were near the area and decided to try a new Phở restuarant. After Anne introduced me to Phở restaurants, i cannot get enough and really enjoy it! Soc Trang was an excellent choice!!! I ordered the Beef Phở, which is the Phở Dac Biet which is rare steak, meatball, brisket, flank with rice noodle. The broth was perfect and delicious; the bowl size was perfect, there is a larger size if you are really hungry! I also enjoyed the app of Goi Cuon, which is pork meat, shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce; very nice! Anne ordered an app of Bi Cuon which is also a spring roll but with just shrimp and the dish where you make your own spring rolls with different types of meat and ingredients, such as grilled chicken with basil, mint and rice noodle. Anne had allot of fun making her spring rolls and it was also very good! We enjoyed house tea with our meal! It was a very good lunch and am already looking forward to going back as the beef broth was really good. The service was great, our waitress helped us with the menu and was very friendly. Did I mention that I am looking forward to visiting again!!!

The pull(and craving of fresh spring rolls) was strong this afternoon so I was luckily to be traveling with my +1 who is always in the mood for some Vietnamese food(especially when Phở is on the menu). Shoutout to Thein N. for his review which steered us to this awesome restaurant. Although we arrived in between lunch and dinner, and the restaurant was completely empty, we were waited upon by a lovely employee during the duration of our visit to Soc Trang. After receiving our beverages(Unsweetened iced Vietnamese tea, I think) I started to pursue the expansive, but not overly daunting menu of noodle, rice and hot pot dishes. Our waitress was sweet and answered all of my questions, and did not even bat an eye when I asked to modify my fresh spring roll order to omit the pork. My first choice was the shredded cabbage salad but they were out — boo — however my second choice — a make your own spring roll dish — caught my eye and I went for it! My +1 — predictably ordered the beef Phở. In no time both our spring rolls and our main meals were brought to us. A bit perplexed when all the ingredients were put in front of me, our waitress easily explained the«how to» of assemblage and consumption. There is something to be said about assembling your own dish(hello tacos!) but the ingredients were on point and each bite was burst of excitement to my taste buds. Perfectly seasoned(and moist) chicken, layered with basil(or mint), steamed rice noodles, cucumbers, bean sprouts, and lettuce were all available to wrap up in rice paper that I learned to gently dip into hot water to soften. I have always been a bit of an over stuffer but the moisten rice paper took on the load. My meal was perfectly satisfying and a steal at 11.95 and can see why this place gets so many positive reviews. I don’t head to Springfield that often but will definately keep this restuarant in my wheelhouse!

Delicious food and a very friendly environment. I have gone here at least four times now and have ordered take out twice. Each time the people are very nice and friendly. The Spring Rolls are fantastic along with the chicken wings for appetizer. For the main course, I love all of their noodle, rice noodle, and udon soups. Also, the fried rice is the bomb. They also serve Hot Pot which was absolutely fantastic! You get to pick all the ingredients you want to cook and what soup you like. You cook the food yourself so it takes a bit of time but it is extremely fun and very delicious! Definitely a great place to go if you like Asian food and are in the mood for very flavorful meal!

Wow. Just wow. It’s always a treat to find quality, Vietnamese food. For the last 10 years, these folks owned and operated Vinh Chau. With the new space, they now can serve and cater to over 200 guests, host local shows, and thankfully, they brought over the same recipes! I’ve been here a number of times, and every single time — Soc Trang really delivers on fresh, delicious and well-made Vietnamese meals. To start, the entire menu is reasonably priced. Spring rolls are plump, phở is on point — the broth is perfect. A plate of ALL the necessary fresh herbs accompanies your bowl. The bun(vermicelli), rice or egg noodle bowls, beef stews and rice dishes are all just fantastic. Service is friendly, courteous, and prompt. The fruit smoothies and boba teas are good to. Trust me when I say, check out Soc Trang, you won’t be disappointed!

Still new to the area, so it’s always a nice find when I come across a delicious Vietnamese restaurant that is up to par. Coming from OC in California and growing up with authentic Viet foods, it’s been hard finding a Vietnamese community that has all the usual food that I have been craving. This place has been good so far, and I hope to try the rest of their menu! The waitress, Kim, was very welcoming.

Went as a large group, 6, on a Wednesday. Unfortunately, there were actually several tables who came in around the same time and one server all by herself, so follow up service was weak. The food came out pretty quickly however. Hubs and I had the egg rolls which were AWESOME! I would recommend them any day, and would go back just for them! The phở tai bo vien was good but nothing special with the competition that is so close by. The rare steak was nice and tender but I would skip the meatballs next time. They have an extensive menu that demands further investigation, lots of noodle dishes and meat plates that look wonderful– and beyond the local offerings.

Food was good, service was attentive and very good, professional ! Place is nice and tidy. The menu is extensive, however, still missed the«authentic» tastes. Don’t get me wrong, food was very flavorful, but seemed to lack some«authenticity». Definitely a GO but not a 5 star from me :)

Definitely will be back to Soc Trang, a great Vietnamese phở joint. I ordered take-out today, but would be happy to dine-in at some point in the near future. Ambiance: Like most Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to, there’s a lot of tables in a big open room. It’s not exactly intimate or high class, but it’s very common. I have a feeling that they spruce up the tables for dinner service, because I don’t recall seeing tablecloths during the lunch hour. There are also multiple TVs in the dining area. Service: Ordering over the phone was a breeze. The woman I spoke to answered the couple of questions I had easily. My order was ready in 15 minutes, and she even included an extra to-go container so my fiancé would have his own container to eat out of. Food: We ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls with pork and shrimp(be advised, they also have one with shredded pork only) for $ 5.75. An order comes with two rolls and peanut sauce. They were pretty tasty, but not served cool, as I prefer. We also ordered rare beef phở($ 7.50). When I asked, the lady who took my order said that for $ 1 more, they will make the order extra large. I opted for that, which was enough for two people… that’s a STEAL. The phở was good, everything was packed separately and we put it together ourselves. Garnish included: bean sprouts, basil, lime, 2 slices of jalapeño, and some chopped scallions and cilantro. I’d definitely ask for extra cilantro next time. The broth was great and the meat portion was of a nice size. My only complaint is that the Sriracha is put in the same container as the hoisin sauce(which I loathe). This was the perfect New Year’s Day lunch and both of us really enjoyed it. We will be back soon!

This was my first time there in a very long time. I went there when they first opened and remembered the Phở as being good but not necessarily exceptional. This time I ordered the Duck noodle soup, when it was delivered to the table two things stood out, one, it was beautifully presented with 3 halfs of Shanghai bok choy, mushrooms, and dried crispy onions and two, it was piping hot and I do mean hot. The broth while good was an amalgam of beef and duck, not the rich 100% duck broth I was hoping for, that being said, it still was pretty darn good. The bean sprouts, culantro and basil, the standard garnish for Vietnamese soup, were extremely fresh, plentiful and of course accompanied by a slice of fresh lime. I am anxious at some point to return and try some other dishes.

This place is SOGOOD! I took one of my coworkers who had never had Vietnamese food here when we were in town for a trade show. It’s a huge dining room(which looked like it could accommodate large parties), and we were one of the first ones there around 5:30pm. We started with the Goi Cuon — fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. I was mentioning how much I loooooooooooved the fish sauce, so our super sweet server brought me over some to eat with the spring roll! YUM. I had my usual — vermicelli with grilled shrimp, pork, and egg roll. I LOVETHISDISH. It always tastes super fresh. It’s just cooked vermicelli over a bed of lettuce, with grilled meats on top served with a side of fish sauce. It’s the PERFECT mouthful. You get the smokey meatiness of the grilled meat, the tangy-ness from the fish sauce, and the fresh crunch of the lettuce with the vermicelli noodles — serious noms. My coworker had a curry which he liked, but he was SOJEALOUS of my dish. Obviously. I was also probably moaning in pleasure as I was scarfing it down. We also shared a «steamed tiny rice noodle» dish, which was a plate of vegetables and grilled meat with vermicelli which was rolled into individual portions, as well as some rice paper. I had never had it with the rice paper before, but you literally make your own spring roll and eat it dipped in fish sauce. SOGOOD. It was very similar to my entrée, so of course I loved it(it was incredibly good). We left completely full. My coworker is now HOOKED on Vietnamese food. Our amazing server brought us one of their takeout menus with what we had ordered highlighted on it for his future reference. She was awesome! Would definitely come back if ever in the area again!

There were several places to choose between for Vietnamese food in the Springfield area and based on what we wanted to try and other reviews we chose Soc Trang. We entered the address into our navigation system and headed out. Upon arrival we were glad to find a parking lot, though it is rather small. As it was empty when we got there, this wasn’t a problem. We chose a table and opened the menu which has a lot of options, though not bánh mì so if you’re looking for this sandwich(which we weren’t) you’ll want to go elsewhere. We started with an appetizer of fresh spring rolls(gi cun) which were delicious. I ordered the bún tht nng and my wife ordered a shrimp clay pot(tôm kho t) and we were both very happy with our selections. While I usually avoid caffeine, I did treat myself to a Vietnamese iced coffee which was small but tasty. The prices are extremely reasonable and our server was attentive and friendly. Overall we had no complaints and we will definitely be going back.

The new old Vinh Chau! No seriously. Nearly four years ago I reviewed Vinh Chau, back when it was run by the current owners of Soc Trang. Whatever I said back then is certainly true now of Soc Trang(not that Vinh Chau is really lacking, and it’s still byob as far as I know). Anyways, my point is that this is the best phở in Springfield. Yes it’s not the most posh or romantic spot to eat but if you’re craving quality Vietnamese this pragmatic eatery will more than deliver. For various reasons I still find myself at the competitors(Bamboo House also serves Chinese, Vinh Chau for the aforementioned reason and the old familiarity, and Phở Saigon for outward polish) but when I’m considering Phở only there’s no question — I’ll be at Soc Trang.

I attended a recent Phở Society gathering here and it is definitely going into my regular rotation. The food was wonderful and inexpensive, the interior was clean and spacious, and the staff was outstanding and quick with suggestions, menu explanations and water refills. They also graciously accommodated our large group’s request for separate checks without skipping a beat, and even wrote down all of our names and called us by them throughout the evening. The menu is quite large and includes helpful photos of several selections. After much deliberation(and some assistance from our server) I went with the spicy lemongrass soup which came with a choice of chicken, beef or tofu. Ryan got the spicy lemongrass chicken stir fry, and we split an order of egg rolls(we had also ordered the buttered wings that we had heard about, but a couple of hours into our service and when we were just finishing up our entrees, one of the servers came to tell us that they had run out of wings). Everything was delicious and super fresh. I wanted a shake to take with me, and the server let me know which were made fresh in house and which were from powder. I chose the made-in-house jack fruit shake sans tapioca, because they were out. My one complaint… and I imagine it had solely to do with the size of our group and would not be an issue otherwise… was that there didn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to what food came out when. Soups, appetizers and entrees were brought out at random and very sporadic intervals; some of our dining companions were completely finished eating before others had even received appetizers. I would guess that there was approximately a two-hour difference between when some people got their food. Again, it was a large and casual group with lots of socializing so I think it worked out alright, but it would have been nice if, say, they did all of the table’s appetizers before starting on entrees. Perhaps that would have been too hard with so many tickets? Not sure. In any event, Soc Trang was a good find and we will definitely be back.
