I have a shower that was built very poorly and when David looked at it June 2015, it was leaking through to the next level. David was the most educational & professional communicator of the estimates I spoke to. The price was good, not the cheapest but still very fair. I think David will be slightly less for some projects and slightly more for others but he’s still the solid choice and reliable. If I chose the wrong contractor, the price could add up in the hundreds or thousands more if things go wrong and the job is not done properly. In my case, over the past 7 years two others came to fix the problem, took my money and it wasn’t really fixed. David seemed trustworthy and he was. In fact, by the end I saw how much work went into the project on two floors and thought the price was all the more very reasonable. David will tackle a lot of challenges as part of his commitment without tacking on little extra charges whereas other contractors drop a low price to get the business and once they start working present good reasons why additional charges are needed along the way. In fact, I think it’s fair to charge more when unexpected things come up but David did not raise the price. In the end, David did a great job with a project that two people before him did very poorly.

Working with Summit Renovations has produced mixed emotions for my wife and I: The pros: Dave is a nice person who will work with you to create the project you seek. His crew are generally good folks who do good work. His prices are comparable or better than most other renovation companies. We’re mostly happy with the two projects he’s done in our home. The Cons: Dave is often slow to respond to phone calls/emails and sometimes doesn’t respond at all. We had to remind him to finish some aspects of our projects and — six months later — still haven’t had some small elements finished(sealed holes in drywall, trim piece installed, etc.). I’ve been told by his workers that Dave will make you the center of attention until he has a better job come along and then you will be placed on the back burner; my experience verifies that to be true. They did a poor job cleaning up. All in all, you can get good work done by Dave and Summit Renovations. However, make sure you are very specific about what you want, when you want it, and then hold him to finishing the project as promised.

We had our master bath shower retiled after we found a leak in the 25 year old original shower. I got many estimates. David from Summit Renovations was by far the most professional and prepared. He came with a folder of his work along with copies of his license and insurance and references. He was not the cheapest but seemed by far the most knowledgable and very attentive to details. He offered suggestions that no one else had mentioned. We got exactly what we wanted and even better. My only complaint(and reduction from 5 stars) is that he wasn’t good about informing me when the workers’ schedule would change. Sometimes they showed up earlier than planned and sometimes later. Overall, David did a great job and very high quality. When I had one issue with a threshold he had his workers take it up and fix it within a ½ hour of my phone call. He never gave me a hard time. His attitude is to make the customer happy.
