I called The Divine Cupcake the day before Mother’s Day because I really didn’t want to send flowers, and their website said they delivered. I thought maybe it was a long shot, since it was the day before Mother’s Day, and I hadn’t ordered this ahead of time. To my delight, the owner told me they could fill my order, and by exactly the time she’d said they would, they delivered two dozen cupcakes to my grandmother’s house. I didn’t get to try the cupcakes, of course(I live in NY), but I got to see pictures. They were beautiful! They were neatly packaged, and delivered with a very pretty card. My grandma and mom shared them with everyone at a family gathering on Mother’s Day, and they received rave reviews! In short: Wonderful customer service, wonderful cupcakes. I recommend this business to anyone looking to send a little sugar-fueled love from across the miles.

WOW– I am a fan! The cake was so moist, not at all dense. Very light. The frosting was fluffy, light, and flavorful. The filled cupcakes were just enough to make an impression without making a gloppy mess. Absolutely delightful! In full disclosure, I started out being VERY skeptical of The Divine Cupcake. I visited a couple of times when they were on West 11th for trivia night a couple of years ago. We were sad when they disappeared but figured meh. I found the cupcakes THEN to be middle-of-the-road. The icing was crunchy and weird. The kitsch and decoration made it look like half a kitchen store? Maybe? They have sure stepped up their game! They apparently have new owners. I just visited now that they are in Springfield, and wow; they have really revamped the recipe in not only the frosting, but decorations and even the cakes seemed more varied and moist. I drove past the new location a couple of times before the bell went off and I figured out that they were in the new strip mall just before the Fred Meyer on Q street. In complete fairness, rushing over right after work to hit them up before they close with a whining, tired toddler in the backseat anyone is liable to be distracted. They would do well with a nice, big, neon arrow pointing the way, but all good things in time, right? The café was dead silent when we came in 15 minutes before closing. Two employees were at the counter, waiting to help us. They had an impressive variety of cupcakes available such as Banana Split, Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana(dude, where’s the bacon?! Coulda made this an Elvis!), and Pina Colada. I got a dozen which included the above, Cappuccino, and traditional Chocolate and French Vanilla cupcakes. We’re trying my 12 year old on a gluten-free diet. She came in with me to inhale the intoxicating aroma fully prepared to be disappointed.(Preteens need their daily dose of angst, yo) but this was not to be. The Divine Cupcake has an impressive collection of gluten-free options in a separate display case. To our delight, they also seem to be experimenting with cookies and chocolates. YUM! The café seems to have plenty of seating, though not as cozy as the previous location(e.g. hard chairs instead of easy chairs, which in all fairness are much easier to clean.) Definitely someplace I could see kicking back with a group for a small get-together or party.

After enjoying a Death By Chocolate birthday cake at work from The Divine Cupcake, which was super yummy, I had to visit Mariah’s shop. This month she is doing girl scout cookie flavors, and the Tagalong was AMAZING!

My wife has a gluten and rice allergy. I was able to delight her with the Divine Cupcakes variety of their gluten and rice free cupcakes. They are also able to do a regular gluten and rice free birthday cake in any of their normal flavor varieties. When my wife’s birthday comes around, I’ll be able to buy her a birthday cake from the Divine Cupcake, and she has a choice of many styles and flavors. Many thanks to the folks at The Divine Cupcake.

Okay people, the owner/baker of this establishment is incredible and willing to make whatever your heart desires. I was craving an old-fashioned pineapple upsidedown cake and called to see if they would make one and described my idea of what it should be. Although the owner(Mariah)had not made one before, she did not hesitate to say she would. It was so scrumptious I have since ordered more. When my grown up daughters asked for a Harry Potter birthday cake, I once again called Mariah to see if she would consider making and creating one. Again, she did not hesitate to say yes. We chose the flavor and she created the«Harry Potter book cake». I can NOT describe how perfect, creative, and amazing this cake was! Pictures were being taken of it by everyone at the party! It was decadent and gorgeous! Thank you for everything you do! The one criticism is… when you call the phone message creates a sense that everything HAS to be ordered on their website which it doesn’t. Call and talk to Mariah in person! Can’t wait for the next special occasion(or craving) comes up! :)

Very unprofessional and unreliable. I had Called and made appointment with owner to discuss my wedding cupcakes about one week in advance, she took my name and phone number and we confirmed the day to meet. Me and my fiancé show up for our appointment and she isn’t there. I call her and she had forgotten about us, her excuse was that one of her employees was sick and she couldn’t call me to re-schedule. I know 100% I gave her my phone number. We got Stood up. Very disappointing. Guess she didn’t want our business very bad.

Still in business under new ownership. THEBESTCUPCAKESEVER. You know how you crave a cupcake and you get one from a grocery store and you’re sad? Those are yuck-cakes. This is not that. I mowed down a dozen flavors of their small cupcakes this weekend(they make about that many flavors each day) and each one blew my mind. I went in to talk to the owner, Mariah, and it turns out they really aren’t that high in calories because of some recipe sorcery(no butter/dairy…something like that). Great prices and service… especially if you have someone with a special food need — they will 100% guarantee to get it right, whether that’s no nuts, gluten-free, vegan, etc. The location is a bit sublime, behind the The Bow Rack… I sorely wish everyone who loved cupcakes could find their way here.

I am really sad they closed their shop, but I think they are still available for catering. We chose Divine Cupcake to cater 100 cupcakes at our wedding and they were AMAZING. We shopped all around town for the best cupcake(Sweet Life, Market of Choice, Larry’s Cupcakes) and Divine won the contest by far. At the wedding we had these flavors: Carrot Cake, Coconut Extravaganza, Salted Caramel, and Gingersnap. They were 100 times better than wedding cake and much easier to serve. The salted caramel cupcake was the best. Well I guess the only good part about the café closing is that my waistline will stay smaller.

Great cupcakes that come in a whole range of flavors… from pumpkin to green tea, they all taste amazing. Moist and delicious without being too oily or laden with artificial ingredients, this is the place to order cupcakes for any party or event. They use organic and often local ingredients to create desserts you don’t have to feel guilty about eating. Divine Cupcakes is also great at working around any food allergy. As someone who cannot eat gluten, soy, dairy, corn or most nuts, it is amazing to find a place about to work around those sensitivities. Highly recommend; fabulous owners, amazing product. Totally reasonably priced for the great quality and one-of-a-kind treats.
