I purchased a Groupon for this place, and I’m not gonna lie, at first drive by we almost kept driving. The outside says«unless you belong here, you don’t belong here» but we opted to give it a shot for the sake of Unilocal. My husband and I visited on a Friday night about 7:00 and although we did not have high expectations we were pretty pleasantly surprised. The drinks are crazy cheap and the food, at least the appetizers, were pretty good although certainly food service product. We tried the toasted ravioli, jalepeno poppers, pretzels and fries. Everything was deep fried but good and hot. The inside of the bar is honestly dark, dingy, and could use a serious face lift, but if you’re in the mood for something un-prissy this is a really good place to try. Our tab was less than $ 40 with 4 apps and 6 drinks. The service was pretty good as well. It’s a nice go to place in the middle of town. I also have to mention that it’s the kind of place that has people standing blocking the front door smoking, and people belligerently drunk at 6:00. Everyone was nice, but if that kind of environment makes you uncomfortable this is definitely not the place for you. If you think of Metro Grill, and then think of it’s polar and total opposite you’ve arrived at The Hangout!
