My first experience with The Sweet Spot was incredibly disappointing. I chose them despite the lack of reviews because they were one of the few bakeries that I could find that baked gluten free cake. First, I was told the cake would be ready for pickup when they opened at 11am. When I got there, the cake had yet to be iced because it was still cooling. I was told another 30 min was needed. I couldn’t come back until 2pm when I was presented a cake that looked like I had made it and decorated it(not a good thing) and had obviously been iced when still warm as the icing had melted down the sides of the cake. To make matters worse, after handing out the first slices of cake, we discovered that the middle of the cake had a layer of still raw batter. I’m rating 2 stars instead of 1 because the flavor of the cake was quite yummy, especially for a gluten cake. Not yummy enough, however to overcome the presentation and delay. I have pictures to prove the raw batter and poor decorating but not sure how to add them to this post.
