They are a great company for their apartments. I live in southwinds and they have been great!

worst company i have ever rented from… you call and they never fix anything… i have lived at an apartment owned by the wooten company for almost two years now and i the ceiling has leaked every time it rains and pretty sure by now there is mold in the walls… i have never been so upset with anywhere i have lived… do not rent from them… this is your warning

I have had the absolute worst experience with the Wooten Company. I am a current tenant at Pebblecreek Apartments and was having trouble with a horrible stench in my apartment. I wrote it on my move-​in form, called the managers a total of four times and nothing ever happened. I thought that I would try and call the Wooten company to see if someone else could help me. Well that turned out to go even worse. They were horribly rude and actually tried to make me feel like an idiot and said that her «trusted» staff couldn’t smell anything when they went in there. So I wised up and had someone from the City of Springfield come and inspect the odor and he verified that it was there and could not believe the apartment was trying to cover it up. This is a horrible company and a horrible apartment complex.
Never live there.

Worst internet and living area at cherry plaza. A/​C doesn’t work half the time and grounds people don’t take care of the property at all. Looks like I am living in a hell hole now.

We have dealt with the Wooten Company through two different complexes in the past 6 months, and both experiences were beyond awful. We initially moved into Seminole North, and lived there for about 4 months. We knew it was not the best of the best by any means, but the product we got was below subpar. We are non-​smokers, and were assured the property allowed smoking but it wouldn’t be an issue in our apartment. Unfortunately, all of our belongings (clothes, furniture, everything) began to noticeably smell like smoke and we both started with a bad cough. We looked into options of remedying the situation, but the landlord essentially told us that the person below us just smoked too much to do anything about it. There was an almost monthly spray for German cockroaches… literally. The giant ones. The parking lot was a constant drug deal, and the police were generally in the vicinity at least once a week. The security guards knew the loud folks by name and upon complaints typically just checked in with them to say hi, instead of actually resolving the issue. Our landlord told us there wasn’t anything we could do except try another apartment in the same complex for a $ 325 transfer fee. It wasn’t until I contacted a different Wooten property did I find out that we could in fact get out of Seminole North and transfer our lease to another Wooten property for $ 100. Needless to say, we jumped at the chance and moved to Lakewood Village apartments on the south side of Springfield. Sadly, our Wooten experience just got worse. We had just finished moving into the new apartment the week prior, when one fine Tuesday afternoon we came home to a completely flooded apartment. The ceiling collapsed, water was coming out of the plug-​ins, and there was standing water in the bathroom and bedroom (this was the second floor). The resident manager as well as maintenance and the corporate staff had no idea what they were doing… and didn’t even know where the water shut-​off was. All in all, 5 units were destroyed. We were told to stay in the living room, even though we didn’t have power and a majority of the apartment was in standing water. It took the corporate office three days to give us an answer on what was going on, and the only answer then was that we needed to move out by the next week and our deposit would be refunded along with prorated rent from when we couldn’t live there. Now, a month later, we still have not received any funds from Wooten and cannot get the corporate office to return phone calls. Later, we found out the apartment was condemned and they had no choice but to let us out of the lease. We (along with the other residents who were not at fault) were treated with incredibly poor customer service and over all awful general manners from a property we all paid each month to ensure habitability. I hope that any future tenants make the wise choice to run, not walk, to any other choice of rental company besides Wooten Properties.
