We were craving some cheesesteaks and since we were already at the mall we were excited to see Tony Luke’s. We decided right then and there to eat instead of driving to a cheesesteak place in South Philly because we were getting hangry. For a mall location, this is pretty alright food. Don’t expect it to be like the original Tony Luke’s location and not as authentic an experience as lining up for Pat’s or Geno’s…but still pretty good cheesesteaks here. The cheesesteak comes as defauly with Wiz, onions, and steak. The steak is pretty juicy, but it makes the sandwich a bit soggy/messy. The traditional size is 9″ long, it looked a little smaller than what you would get at Pat’s/Geno’s. I think you also get less cheese than you would expect here at Tony Luke’s mall location. The Italian roast pork was not very good, I wouldn’t order it again. The spices were too overpowering and the vegetables weren’t really legit broccoli rabe. Still though, it was tasty and filling. The cheese fries were just ok, they made the fries a little soggy but it was good that the cheese covered and stuck on the fries pretty well. Not drippy cheese. The portion of fries is pretty big as well. The service was pretty quick and nice, didn’t have to wait in a long line of tourists and we got satisfying meals. Not amazing but pretty decent.

Tony Luke’s produces a better cheese steak than most places, and it is dependable quality. I’m fonder of the King of Prussia outpost, though.

Delicious cheesteaks! One of the managers, Chelsea, is awesome & always remembers my name & my order(I usually visit once a week). It’s so nice to go to a business with great customer service! Best place at the mall! Update… as of October 2015 the place has gone downhill! Ordered a cheesesteak to go, and when I opened it up at home discovered that they forgot something, the cheese! No one answers the phone and I never heard back from management when I e-mailed.

Once I heard that Tony Luke’s is opening a location in the Springfield Mall, I was very excited. This is very convenient for me as it’s right in my neck of the woods. Though the sandwiches at it’s flagship South Philly location are more favorable, Tony Luke’s Springfield Mall location is probably the best quick-meal stop in the mall.

You love Tony Luke’s — you know you do. But, unless you live across the street or are heading to the sports complex anyway, it is a little bit of a pain to get to — to say nothing of the parking, lines, or bathrooms(or lack thereof) That is why I got nothin bad to say about Tony Luke expanding his empire(well — except for those frozen sandwiches — they’re not very good). Maybe it is just my Philly prejudice, but even at however many locations Tony Luke’s has, I don’t consider them a «chain.» I have visited the Springfield Mall location often. It is located at the end of the mall near Target in a quasi-food court area with Sbarro, Subway, and a Chinese restaurant. There are some common tables in the middle of the mall. The food is not as good as the original — I have had steaks, cutlets, and roast pork and they all come up just a little bit short — but they come pretty close. Add in the shorter line, air conditioning, and bathrooms and you have yourself an enjoyable experience. Just don’t bring your out of town visitors here as part of a cheesesteak tour — gotta go to S. Philly for that. You coming to Springfield to get Tony Luke’s can be our little secret — ok?

Well… as much as I love Tony Luke’s…this is definitely not like the original. Roll was soggy… Sharp Prove wasn’t even SHARP!(c’mon now). The pork was bland. Overall, the service was fast and the place was pretty clean. Honestly, the fries were the best part of my meal.

Just like the others stated below this place is nothing like the original. I got the chicken cheese steak to go. Service was fast and the roll was fresh but the sandwich was bland, nothing special like the original location. I wont go back here again, I will stick with the Oregan Ave location from here on out… I think he really should have put more thought into franchising. So far I have eaten at this location and also the KOP mall. And the food is nothing like the original.

This location is the best of the chains. The roast pork is almost perfect, the roll and sharp prov are on point. Their broccoli rabe needs some work to be like the original, but thats it.

Considering the limited amount of dining choices in the(dying) SPringfield Mall, my 8 year old was excited to get a chicken cutlet sandwich from Tony Lukes. It was fine — but nothing to write home about. I know Tony Luke(and his lovely new-ish girlfriend) and have eaten at the Oregon Avenue location many times. It rocks. This location does not rock. But it is affordable and a viable alternative to the other mall choices.

Waaaaaaaaaa… … It’s not twenty years ago. Waaaaaaaaaa… it’s not the south Philly location. Waaaaaaaaaa… I’m such an ingnoranus that I actually think that expansion is bad. Waaaaaaaaaa… I’m dumb enough to let myself think that Tony Luke let’s his name go out on a product that’s inferior to the one that made him famous. Waaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaa, sniffle, Waaaaaaaaaa!!! Oh my word. Reading these TL reviews makes me want to quit Unilocal. You people are nothing like Big Texas. Get a grip and kill your underachieving mentality. If youd rather have Sbarro at the mall, go right ahead. I’m gonna have a roast pork and sharp provolone at Tony Luke’s and enjoy my life while you wallow in your miserable hatin’ ass existence(while we’re at it, smack your hatin’ ass parents, cuz they made you). This is America. Growth is good. If you live in south Philly then by all means stick with your spot, but none of you whiny pip squeaks from delco were going to south Philly on any sort of regular basis, anyway. You went there once and decided it was the best(and you weren’t wrong). In order to attain that experience you had to venture in to the real life city… OHEMMMGEEE!!! You’re sooooo Philly!!! You’re not. You’re a suburban schmuck too uninformed to really realize that the religious experience you had, that one time in band camp, was merely a(great) sandwich. You’ve assigned more meaning to it b/c you don’t get out much. The reality is that this sandwich is made of THEEXACTSAMESTUFFASTHEOTHERS, INTHEEXACTSAMEWAY. Eat it, enjoy it, and tell em Big Texas sent you!

*Disclaimer* I did not actually eat there… However, I never plan to either because I don’t want to contract any racing bowl movements that liquify my intestinal track… While at the mall with my wife, we went to Subway to get a sandwich. I observed a worker from Tony Luke’s grab an employee from sbarro who was coming into work through the mall doors and make her go out for a cig while he was wearing his food service glove on one hand.(I didn’t know Michael Jackson was reincarnated and Tony F’n Lukes) After a few minutes he came back in, with the glove still on. He stood around a bit, talking to people as we went and sat down. Then I watched him go back into the Tony Luke’s area and start touching food products… STILLWEARINGTHEGLOVE!!! I don’t know if people are being foolish assholes or are just complete ignorant jackasses, but he fit both of those pretty well that day. I’ll never, EVER eat there. I shared what he did with my wife who was appalled and she told everyone that works in her store in that mall. What an idiot.(Harsh? Maybe. But someone could die from whatever he picked up on that glove and spread all over the food)

So, can we talk about how Tony Luke, Jr has totally sold out? There are now 14 locations where one can seek out a Tony Luke’s sandwich, and 4 more on the way. I’ve been to this Springfield mall outpost twice now and I’ve decided I’m never going again. It really doesn’t even compare to the original. The only good thing I can say is that I like the option of getting a junior size. Next time, I will drive to South Philly and get the original. Or, better yet, I’ll jump on the train and go to Tommy DiNic’s in the Reading Terminal Market.

Just like the others said, this place is definitely not like the original. It’s not expected to be, but the food itself should be close and it’s just not. The fries are soggy and the cheese has an odd taste. The cheesesteaks are bland and the roast pork, a Tony Luke’s staple, is constantly served too dry. It’d be a shame for a tourist to stop here thinking they would be getting the real experience.

I was at the Springfield mall, shopping at Target, when the hunger pangs started. I tried really hard to thwart them, just wasn’t happening. So my plan was to grab a ‘light bite’ from the food court. That light bite turned into a 6″ cheesesteak combo at Tony Luke’s. Coming in at under $ 8, the value is certainly there. The combo came with their fresh cut fries and a small drink. Plenty of food… I don’t think I finished the fries, and that’s rare for me! As with typical South Philly joints, you have your choice of cheese: wiz, American, provolone. Pretty sure fried onions were optional and cost extra $$$, so i went«witout.» As for the quality… there was definitely room for improvement. The sandwich looked pretty pathetic… the roll appeared to be a grocery store knockoff of a true Amoroso roll, and the«steak» looked like steak-ums. But it tasted pretty good actually. Despite the appearance, I was impressed by the flavor. The meat was well-seasoned and there was just the right amount of cheese wiz. The«fresh cut» fries were not quite cooked properly. They could have been so much better. Despite that, they were more than edible and better than most fast food options. As with any good cheesesteak, I felt shame and self loathing immediately after eating it. I probably would have given 3.5 stars if it were an option. I didn’t LOVE it, but I’d eat it again without thinking twice.

Someone has to be the first to say it. It might as well be me. This place is nowhere near as good as the original. Just get that out of the way right now. It’s not even close. If any of you are going to this sandwich stand thinking that you are getting a Tony Luke’s sandwich, stop right now, drive your butt over to the Blue Route, and head for South Philly right now. Seriously, if you’re reading this, do it now! Now, that all being said, it’s not too bad for eating in a shopping mall. I was in the mall, feeling lazy enough to give them another shot this week(my 2nd ever visit to this stand). The roast pork sandwich is on a pretty decent roll. It’s more salty than flavorful. Since they were out of broccoli rabe at 7:30 on a Monday, I went for spinach and provolone. It wasn’t too bad. I finished it off happily. But really, when the best thing you have going for you is that you’re better than Sbarro, you aren’t saying much. But if you’re in the mall looking for a bite, it’s not a bad choice.
