Was way over hyped. The other reviews are correct… the service is slow. We ordered off the Sunset menu. It is available 5 –6 but you have to ask for it. We placed ourder. After about 20 minutes our waiter returns and says they our out of my wife’s entry. So we both had the bacon wrapped medallions. One of my pieces of meat was overcooked the other was good. The vegetables were not what I expected. The Mediterranean Dip was fantastic. I heartily recommend it. While waiting for our first course we asked about bread. We were told they usually served it between the first and second course. Our second course came as soon as we had finished the first. We again asked about our bread and we’re told that sine there hadn’t been a time gap he had skipped the bread. They only use the bread to keep food in front of customers while waiting. We requested bread and he brought it. It was four small cupcakes of chocolate chips. Dessert was OK. Nothing special.

Where to start. Went for valentines dinner. The hostesses didn’t have a clue. Just started seating people randomly. Even said to us, «I don’t know who was here first so I will just take you.» Took us to the banquet room full of cocktail tables the size of a dinner plate. The room was so packed the hostess was running into people as she tried to seat us. The room was oddly quiet and they were burning floral scent candles(not what I wanted to smell when I am trying to eat). We set down for about 20 seconds and then left. Not wasting my money.

Went tonight for early Valentine date. Had such a lovely experience! John, our server, cared for each element of our meal like we were guests in his home. He asked our names and remembered them the whole evening. The food was perfect(hubby had the giant ribeye and I had the ahi tuna). A big plus for us is when we are not rushed through the meal. Timing of each course was perfect! Great job, Chef Mike & crew! John though was the highlight! Ask for him when you go.

We frequently go to Touch not only for the great food, but for the wonderful HH prices. The excellent drink prices and Tapas make this the best spot in town for some after work chill time. Then stay for dinner and enjoy the excellent variety of meat on the menu. It is a little more expensive when you transition to the dinner menu, but you should already expect that going to a fine dinning restaurant.

I have a hard time giving Touch five stars… It’s like voting the most popular girl prom queen. The food is clearly delicious. You don’t need another review gushing over the bacon wrapped dates or the sea bass(both of which are amazing… I have dreamt of the mushroom risotto they serve with that sea bass… My goodness). So, I will lend a critical eye instead. For starters, I was seated under the spiral staircase like some sort of troll. I understand getting as many tables seated as possible, but putting two very tall people under a staircase is pretty inconsiderate. Neither of us could stand up without crouching. Plus, a nice dinner out is interrupted by people constantly clomping up and down the stairs over your head. Another downfall is when the young lady wiping down the tables is wearing a short dress, and the backs of her thighs are right next to your silverware. I did enjoy my lobster bisque appetizer, but it was more pudding than soup. It would benefit from more cream and could be a bit warmer… it tastes delicious but it’s pretty solid. Bringing it back to a positive note is their brilliant flourless chocolate torte paired with mint chocolate chip Andy’s custard and a raspberry topping. It’s the best $ 4 I’ve ever spent on a dessert in my life.

Loved it! Great food! As good as any world class restaurant and between the two of us, in our military careers, have eaten at a few. We are both stuffed and are bringing part of it home. My husband loved the leg of lamb, said it was as good as any he ate in the Middle East, while stationed there. My Ribeye was cooked just right. The vegetables that were substituted due to gluten were wonderful. The flourless chocolate cake was decadent and delicious! The prices were very reasonable especially for the huge portions. What a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Will be back

Fantastic!!! We came here as a group of four today. We were all visiting Springfield, MO from different parts of the country for a business. I have to say, due to my work I travel a lot and eat at fine dining restaurants frequently. This restaurant ranks high/and is on par with some of the best fine dining restaurants across the country. The food, the ambience and the service, all were fantastic. Our server Loren was caring, helpful and attentive to our needs and questions. He cares about the people he serves, and it shows in his actions. He is a true service professional. If we are in the area, we will definitely come back to this restaurant. I would recommend it to my fellow workers who travel to this demographic.

The bacon wrapped dates are to die for!!! The Happy Hour is a great way to try their appetizers and drinks without paying the large dinner prices.

I seem to have started out with one of their best offerings(see previous review). This visit, I intended to try the ahi tuna diablo, but was crushed when I was informed the kitchen ran out for the night. My plan B was the crazy surf ‘n turf, a combo of meatloaf and a shrimp cake with flash fried spinach. Overall, it was a little overwhelming with the salt in the loaf. I did enjoy the crunchiness of the spinach. Plan B+ was an order of the bread pudding, which was a hunk of sweetness finished with a marshmallow-tasting sauce. I was expecting more breadiness, but it reminded me of a cross between a flan and a poundcake… like slick, but dense. Also noticed both times I’ve walked into this place that the host stand was not occupied, or there was a delay with getting tended to, despite an ample looking staff. I’d give this latest meal 3 stars, but I’m averaging the overall rating with the previous review.

This restaurant has a beautiful dining room and lovely atmosphere. It is extremely dark, however, and four of the five people at my table used their iPhone flashlight apps to read the menu. The service was good, but our server was just dripping with sweat. He actually carried a cloth napkin with him and mopped his face and forehead multiple times during his table visits. I was put off a bit by the uniforms worn by the female bar wait staff. They wore black satin tap pants, black shoes, and black camisoles. Basically, they were walking around the bar and dining area in their underwear. I’m no prude, but it was pretty weird. And the uniform was not flattering on any of the servers I saw. The menu is limited, but the food descriptions made everything sound good. I like it that they serve tapas. We started with the Mediterranean dip, hummus, and pecan crusted goat cheese. The dip was okay and was the only starter we didn’t finish. The hummus was served with fresh veggies and warm pita bread and was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real star of the starters was the pecan crusted goat cheese, served with garlic baguette slices, carmelized onions, and roasted garlic cloves. It was fantastic. One of my dinner companions ordered one of the specials, a 20-ounce smoked pork chop. It was delicious, but who the heck can eat a 20-ounce pork chop? The diner was a big guy and he didn’t even finish half of it. He took it home, but it just seemed silly to give such a gigantic portion. One of our diners had only a bowl of the lobster bisque. I tasted it and it was divine. Another of our diners had the spicy shrimp and grits and was disappointed. The grits were gummy and under-seasoned. There were five small under-seasoned shrimp served on top of the grits and the dish was topped with a greasy, sunny-side-up egg. The dish was a mess of lack of seasoning and weird textures. Another diner and I ordered the bacon-wrapped medallions. The beef was cooked to our specifications, but they were topped with a sweet sauce with a very strange taste. The medallions were lying on a bed of creamy polenta that was under-seasoned and completely congealed. I tried to scoop up a forkful of polenta and actually pulled up the entire bed because it was solidified and barely warm. The dish came with roasted vegetables that were very good. Overall, this food wasn’t good enough for how much we spent — $ 190, without tip. I’ll give it another shot, but I really expected more.

When my wife and I were back home visiting my folks, we took my mother here for an early Mother’s Day dinner. It’s possible that what follows can be chalked up as a regional taste preference(we live in DC). First, if you go, ask for Laura. She was a fantastic server. On service, alone, this would be a 5-star review. As for starters, the lobster bisque was actually quite good, with a latent heat and just the right consistency. I forget which salad my mom got, but it was fairly wilted as it was(as is often the case) overdressed. For mains, I will say that my lamb shank was phenomenal. However, it was only served with flat bread, as a side, along with the yogurt and herb tapenade sauces. While the shank was well prepared and fell right off the bone, it was basically a giant plate of meat(and, seriously, it was giant). I’d prefer to have some balance to the plate with another flavor and/or vegetable. And no, the fried onions don’t count(and I’d actually recommend scooting them to the side). The primary reason for the 2-star review is because the other main courses at the table were nearly inedible. The tenderloin medallions were served with a cloyingly sweet maple sauce, not at all balanced by the mustard or jalapenos described on the menu. These were served on polenta that was dry and stiff, and the accompanying vegetables(carrots and kale) that were both undercooked and in serious need of acid. The other main was the surf and turf, and while I didn’t try this, myself, my dad had very mild praise, at best. Finally, the desserts: I had the crème brule, with accompanying chocolate pots de crème. Generally, pretty good. Minor tweak would have a been to have a better crust on the crème brule, and to serve them in something other than two stainless steal ramekins(e.g. two white espresso cups would be nice). But my wife and parents loved their flourless chocolate cake. Starters and desserts were probably 3 and 4 stars, respectively, but the two mains I tried(and by proxy, my fathers opinion of his) really weigh this review down. You can tell there’s a lot of potential and creativity, here, and perhaps it was simply an off night for execution. If you do go, the E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone is an ideal wine. It was the only wine I had off their list, but if it’s any indication of their discerning taste, it lends credence to the idea that the place has potential.

The appetizers were delicious, and the waiter was nice and helpful. However, my boyfriend’s lamb was all fat, no meat. Our meals also took a while to come out, but that could be because it was prom night and very busy. It’s a bit pricy, and unless you get something like the steak or appetizers its probably good to go eat somewhere cheaper that may offer the same quality.

There has been a lot of hype surrounding this place recently, so my partner and I decided to go try it out one night before 417’s Fashionation. We opted to sit in the lounge area and try out their tapas menu. We were greeted by an extremely pleasant waitress who provided us with what I can only call outstanding service. I wish I had gotten her name so I could drop it here because she was really that great. Anyway, we both ordered drinks from her: I started with a mint julep, while my partner opted to try the patio life. The mint julep was really very good, but I tried the patio life and immediately switched to that after finishing the julep.(I seriously can’t wait to sit on their patio and drink those things — so refreshing with the cucumber infused gin!) For tapas, we ordered the grilled romaine caesar salad, shrimp bijans, lobster bisque and meatloaf. The lobster bisque was absolutely phenomenal! I could probably eat a gallon of that stuff. And, I had to come clean to my mom that the meatloaf was some of the best I’ve ever had. The salad was good and the shrimp bijan was just as I remember it being: delicious! For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée, which was out of this world. Seriously, that dessert was to die for. The overall ambiance and environment of the place is inviting, pleasant and the lounge area seemed like it would be a fun place to hang out after dark. And as I mentioned earlier, they have a beautiful patio that I can’t wait to sit on when the weather warms up. Overall, I’ll be honest. I didn’t want to believe the hype but I’m a believer now and will definitely be coming back. Great service, great food, and great environment — it’s hard to beat!

Must try: dates, dry-aged steaks, flourless chocolate torte. If you have something to celebrate Touch is fabulous– they have a sample size dessert portion served with a firework. Seriously!

When I first moved into town, I thought Touch was a great place. Great ambience and food. However, being that there are not a lot of high end restaurants in the area, I visited this place multiple times which left me, unfortunately, aching for a change in menu(my fault). The menu has not really changed since opening, except for small changes here and there. I think a revamp of the menu, such as more Persian or Lebanese cuisine could add some well needed change. However, the food is well done and the ambiance is fantastic! I highly recommend the high demand pizza!

After researching 417 Magazine for their Best Of list, my husband and I decided on Touch for my birthday dinner choice. We had eaten at their sister restaurant, Flame, about 3 years ago and had a good time, so I expected an equal good time at Touch. I do not live in Springfield, but a smaller town with not much by way of swanky lounge type establishments. Touch was definitely in this style — sort of upscale in a trendy way with velvet booths and stuffed pillows right in your seat. I was feeling the vibe and was looking forward to a really great meal. We got the mojitos to start — mine the Berry version. I’m not a big mojito drinker, but the addition of the strawberries made an otherwise mediocre drink(for me) rather tasty and refreshing. Decided to go with a table full of tapas for dinner. We got a couple of the specials — the scallops(3) with mussels(3) drizzled in tarragon beurre blanc. This was an exquisite dish. Perhaps the best beurre blanc I’ve ever tasted. In fact, if this came in a shooter glass, I’d probably drink it. The other special was called 3 Little Pigs, which was sage sausage, proscuitto, and some other pork version that I cannot recall. We didn’t read the whole description, so was quite surprised that it came out on a pizza. My husband isn’t a pizza lover, but he did say this was very good. I thought it had an extremely savory flavor. I could have eaten all six slices, but I needed to make sure I saved room for the rest. The other tapas we ordered were from their normal menu. Chose the jalapeño stuffed dates, which were very good. Not too spicy. Perfect size morsel to pop in your mouth. Got the lobster ravioli which had terrific flavor. Hopefully the ravioli is homemade, but you can never be too sure. I will say, however, the first batch came out cool in the center so they had to redo the order. I know these things happen, so I didn’t make a big deal about it. We also got the Mediterranean dip, which was one of the top two things we ate. Crispy pita chips and this bowl of super creamy delicious hummus, dill yogurt, chickpeas, tomato lobster coulis, spinach, feta, olive tapenade … holy moly. The other favortie of the night was the Nova Scotia mussels laying in a pan of that decadent beurre blanc. Everything was terrific. I would go back in a heartbeat. Even got a free pot de crème for my birthday, which topped off the meal perfectly. Our server was friendly, service was expedited nicely. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Well since I apparently have PLENTY of time to write this review while waiting on my food, again, I guess I will. Oh wait! Here’s my food, 5 dates and 2 jalapeño dates for my husband. Oh, you mixed the 2 jalapeño dates in with the regular ones? Um, nice. The waitresses spend most of their time chatting with each other at the bar. Ok, waiting on my dr pepper short ribs, oh no I’m not because they say it’s not marinaded enough yet. Ugh this is the second bad experience on the bar side. Definitely sit on the main side if you want an experienced waiter that knows what they’re doing and not just there to look pretty. Good bread pudding.

This evening, I met a friend here for happy hour. I had only ever eaten here once with my husband for Touch’s pre-priced 3 course dinner, which was okay. Honestly, I’m not sure what the draw to Touch is. Flame, the sister restaurant, has a better happy hour foodwise. However, Touch has more variety with the Tapas menu. I ordered a Touch salad with no bacon and a Touch Berry Mojito. The salad wasn’t anything to write home about and a bit dry. I was expecting a lot more flavor to be honest. The adjectives and the ingredients had a more«wow» factor than the actual salad itself. My drink was not fantastic at all. The mint was limp, and the soda over-powered every bit of the rum and the berry flavors. Sprite has a better flavor, even without the alcohol. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for these items.(Happy Hour is from 4−7pm. Half-price drinks sans premium, and some half-priced Tapas). I would agree with the previous comments about the ambiance of urban lounges with the middle-aged to senior-citizens who believe they are Springfieldian socialites. Strange. The service was decent and made up for the lack-luster of food and drink. I’m all for eating local and for a higher class of restaurant, but the food and drink must be able to speak for itself. Then, and only then, will foodies start to frequent the establishment. ps. Can bacon not be on every menu item? Thanks. I’m probably the .25% of the American population to not like bacon, but hey, I feel like a vegan in Texas when it comes to being in the midst of bacon and Touch’s relationship.
