I love coming to Maple City Diner for Sunday brunch. The meals are delicious diner food, and you’ll definitely get a large helping. The sides are a bit pricey, so I try not to order anything additional, but you really do get a lot of variety from the meals so it’s not a problem. I love their waffles and breakfast sandwiches!

Fantastic breakfast selection. The hungry man is excellent. The French Toast is good too

Breakfast here is consistently great. First off, they have literally the best home fries we have tried in the St. Albans/Swanton area. Each time I’ve ordered the eggs over medium, they have made them perfectly. We have liked everything we have tried — pancakes, bacon waffles, homemade corned beef hash, ham, skillets — it’s all good here. Plus, the servers are friendly and attentive.

First visit here, and so glad we did. I was with four business colleagues and we wanted something simple, relaxed, no fuss, and good. We walked in at 7:55PM and were disappointed to find out they close at 8PM. We were immediately greeted and shown to our table. And it just got better from there. Our waitress was delightful, friendly and attentive. I knew she had lots of other responsibilities with closing, but you wouldn’t have known it from the service. Another thing I loved about this place: breakfast all DAY. I was prepared to order an omelet until we were told about the SPECIALS. There were three awesome specials. One of them was the maple-glazed ham with home-made Mac ‘n cheese. Absolutely delicious. They even had great horseradish. Pretty much anything we asked for, they had. Someone ordered the eggs benedict and said it was outstanding. They had a decent beer selection and ‘OK’ wine selection. I went for the coffee(d-caf) and it was GREAT! Desserts? Would have loved to try one of their home-made pies or cakes that we saw in the front case. Honestly, the meals were HUGE, and couldn’t fit another bite. The prices were great too. The whole meal for five of us was less than $ 70. Anyways, can’t say enough about this place. Thank you!

This diner is a great go-to for comfort food and not just for breakfast food(which they serve all day). I think my absolute favorite is the country fried steak and gravy. It’s the perfect blend of crispness and gooey gravy. Also the side salads that come with the meals are like REAL salads, not just an afterthought bowl of greens, it’s a real service of beautiful fresh and chopped produce. The service here is superb and always friendly. They are also very attentive. I’ve never had to wait long for a meal, ever. It is a diner, however they have a very small counter service compared to the dining area. The dining area is a mix of booths and tables. The booths are starting to get along in age as they have some uneven padding here and there but are still comfortable. I highly recommend it to families and travelers. Kid menus are available as well. They also have a nice selection of pies you can buy and take home.

My Boys & I love to come here for breakfast or even dinner for breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes are great and my youngest loves to get a stack of three with fried potatoes and sausage. They never seem to balk at his request for extra syrup and they keep the chocolate milk flowing. My oldest loves the Skillets and the middle boy and I like to explore the menu. I haven’t run into anything bad yet. As with any place service is hit or miss at times, but the food is always good. If you come on a Saturday or Sunday be prepared to wait!

Okay. This place is awesome. I am from Jersey and we are famous for our diners. Maple City doesn’t even come close to comparing with Jersey diners. Maple City is a hundred times better! The prices can not be beat and the food is so fresh and flavorful. That’s Vermont for you. I had the Vermont skillet that came with runny eggs, apple and caramelized onion. My friend had the gravy and biscuits– omg so good. I couldn’t stop stealing bites. The food is so so good and fresh. Service is hit or miss but the food makes up for it. Love this place!

One of my favorite places to eat! Staff is attentive and polite. Very handicap accessible. Food surpasses most other eateries in the area. My personal favorites are the maple parsnip soup, The eggs benedict, any of the burgers, the sweet potato fries, onion rings and they have a fine selection of desserts. The only improvement they could possibly make is to add a children’s breakfast menu.

Great down home diner. Friendly and efficient server. Large menu. Daily specials. Breakfast all day. My wife and I shared turkey, cheddar, apple and cranberry wrap with fries. Plenty of food for two people and very tasty. Crispy lettuce on wrap, fresh fries.

Mmmmm-the maple shake is exceedingly delicious! The kid’s pizza is not… not even the hungry four year old pizza lover would eat it. The Flatlander is always a hit. :) Will have the kiddo order pancakes next time. The maple shake alone is worth another visit or ten.

Went here today for the first time. We actually drove a long way out of our way to check it out based on the restaurant week menu and curiosity. We were not disappointed. I had the maple shake(so much maple, yum!), the bacon stuffed waffle with maple cream, and then maple cream pie. The waffle was quite good. The pie is unlike anything I have ever had and I have tried a lot of maple things in my life. It was intensely maple and quite delicious. You just need to take it in small bits because it is very sweet. My sister had a similar meal with the exception of getting a chicken salad club as the main meal. She described the chicken salad as the best in her life and debated getting some to bring home. Trust me, she does not throw such praise around lightly. There was bacon and cheddar cheese with it but she said what really seemed to make it special was the carrots mixed in. It came with a huge pile of hot, crisp, hand cut fries. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. Although we don’t have a reason to be in the area again I have a funny feeling that won’t be our last time there. If we were in the area there would be no reason not to rush back. Quality food, great prices, friendly staff, and oh so much real maple-how can you go wrong! Next time I want to try a delicious looking cupcake, if I am not so full I can’t even think about it like today!

Great prices and great food. Most entrees have a hint of maple, if you’ve got a sweet tooth!

A friend and i went here for lunch and we had a horrible experience. First my soda was very flat, then i ordered fried mushrooms for my appetizer wich cost $ 6 for 7 uncooked mushrooms and last i ordered the bacon blue cheese burger, i asked to have my beef cooked medium and when i got it, it was burnt with a side of fries that tasted like they had been microwaved. The only reason i give this place any rating was because it was clean other than that i would never recommend eating here nor will i be back.

This is my favorite Sunday morning breakfast place! Love the hometown atmosphere, the fresh baked pies and baked goods. Very family friendly and just a place where you feel like your eating at home. I suggest the breakfast skillet(served in a cast iron pan) or the omelettes made with the freshest veggies. Or for an old school classic the sausage gravy and biscuits are to die for! Super friendly staff! The food is fresh, great portions and delicious! My husband and I make a trip from Essex to this place cause it can’t be beat! We have always had breakfast but can’t wait to try the lunch and dinner specials.

Great food, fast service, cute building, good location and great cooks. Most if the waitresses are super super nice(There’s one in there that is miserable) this is still one of the best places to eat in St.Albans. The white chocolate chip strawberry pancakes are to die for!

On the way back from Montréal looking for a decent breakfast and We stumbled on this Diner. My basic sausage eggs and pancakes were delicious. Definitely a stop by if you are passing by on highway 89. Our waitress I forgot her name was a delight. The maple syrup was yum !!

A coworker and I went to this diner at her suggestion. Was not disappointed. The food was good! Blueberry pancakes were made just right, with a little addition of maple syrup(there was enough syrup for me!) and butter, yum! Bacon was perfect, crisp but not burnt. Homefries could have been a little more crispy around the edges but overall they had a good flavor and I enjoyed the few I could manage to eat after chowing down. The eggs were okay, had a little black spotting on the bottom but didn’t taste bad. There was a little orange slice decoration, tasted really good too! Service was friendly and very personable, she was right on the dot between giving us time to chat and getting our drinks out. Once you walk in the door you’ll notice the enticing desserts screaming your name, yeah, I wish I had gotten a slice of that coconut cream cake. Next time, you are mine cake. This would have been five stars, if I hadn’t had a little stomach troubles 10 – 15 minutes after eating, good thing I’m not far from home. I’m not sure if it was the food or just stress from the work day plus eating a large amount of food(for me!). I’ll have to check with my coworker and see how she fared.

I’ve eaten here twice since the new owners took over. The food was much better when it was Athena’s. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, the egg was not a real egg, the homefries were so garlicky I couldn’t eat them. I ordered a pancake and ordered VT Maple syrup which I paid extra for, was good but there was not enough syrup for even one pancake. Very disappointing! We won’t eat here again.

Unlike others, we stopped in and had no wait for a seat. The addition of a pellet stove in the dining room is awesome, especially given the cold winter days that Vermont sees. The burger was good. I won’t say it’s excellent because there was far more bun than burger, but it was good. Fries were very good. The pie we took home was also really good.
