Food was ok nothing special. It was definitely overpriced for the quality of food. The staff was extremely rude when I asked a simple question about the menu. I will never come back and will not recommend this to anyone.

Built in 1874, the St. Augustine Light is an active lighthouse in St. Augustine, Florida. It underwent a major restoration in 1980, thanks to the Junior Service League of St. Augustine and the Coast Guard. Thanks to a local preservationist, in 1981 the lighthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places, and a Museum was added to preserve local maritime history and keep alive the story of the oldest port in the nation. They employ over 30 individuals and host over 190,000 people in a year. The antique lens of the lighthouse was functional until it was damaged by rifle fire in 1986, and 19 of the prisms were broken. A breakthrough was made when the lens was restored, rather than removed and replaced. This was the first restoration of its kind. The retired guardsmen responsible for the restoration continue to work with Museum staff and care for the lens. Volunteers clean and inspect the lens and works every week. The light keeps burning as a private aid to navigation. Today, the St. Augustine Light Station consists of the 165-foot(50 m) 1874 tower, the 1876 Keepers’ House, two summer kitchens added in 1886, a 1941 U.S. Coast Guard barracks and a 1936 garage. The site is also a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather station. It is believed that the lighthouse and surrounding buildings are haunted by two little girls. They are believed to be the daughters of Hezekiah Pittee(Superintendent of Lighthouse Construction, during the 1870s) who drowned during the building of the tower. There is also a male figure, possibly be Civil War hero and former lighthouse keeper William A. Harn. TAPS filmed on site and found much evidence of hauntings, even on a second visit to the lighthouse. If you are interested in paranormal activity, the lighthouse offers«Dark of the Moon» tours. These tours take you to the top of the lighthouse at night, and talk about those who have died on the site. EMF detectors can be brought, but don’t be surprised if they start going crazy. To see ghostly pictures taken on the site, go to this site: . It’s quite interesting!

Twisted trees and lighthouses Lighthouse Park also goes by the name of the J. Edward Cox Recreational Facility but that is just a recent change and everyone still calls this cool place Lighthouse Park. The reason for the name is pretty obvious. It stands in the shadow of the huge St Augustine Lighthouse. It looms off to the west and literally blocks out the setting sun at times. The park has a cool fishing pier, boat ramp, bathrooms, nice playground, great views of the water and plenty of parking. But what really makes this park cool are the trees. Lots of scrub oak that are twisted into all kinds of strange and spooky forms and shapes. Obviously the wind comes a whipping off the water at times and the trees are encouraged to grew in whatever direction the wind takes them. Any park on the water is usually a very nice place. But one that stands next to a huge lighthouse and has lots of very weird trees is very special.
