When you find someplace that is special you want to tell the world. Well, I’ve been a loyal customer of Sidekicks for the last 18+ months and I’ll tell you that this place is an aberration from what most comic shops are. Most shops are good, you walk in and find your books, talk a little with the employee and maybe share a laugh or two. That’s all well and good here but this store is so much more than just that.
Are you into new comics? They have you covered in spades. All the new stuff you want is there. Need a pull service? Theirs is free and they are bagged and boarded for you when you come in. Are you a back issue person like me? Dozens and dozens of long boxes filled with every publisher you can think of. On top of that there are trade paperbacks, collectables and roleplaying accessories and games with just a ton of things to look at.
Now, many stores can claim a lot of these things and that’s OK, but I’ll take Chris and Spencer the co-​owners of the shop and put them against anyone else from a customer service standpoint and I know they would come out ahead. They are friendly, knowledgeable and are just good dudes.

It was my first visit to Sidekicks. This is a great comic shop for the serious collectors or beginners. Prices are very reasonable with a wide selection of back issues. Super friendly, laid back, and fun staff who know what they’re talking about. The shop was well organized and clean. Highly recommend taking a look at this shop.

Sidekicks is actually the closest comic store to my house and the only store that I find interesting in my general area (I live in Ponte Vedra, literally a cultural wasteland). However, I didn’t know it existed for the longest time because its kind of remote and not well advertised. It’s a fantastic store. I don’t think any of the other comic stores around here come close in terms of back issue stock besides maybe Superhero Beach. It also has a great selection of new releases, lots of Marvel and DC paraphernalia, some Games Workshop stuff, lots of nice Star Wars and Star Trek stuff, and some board games. It’s family owned and they’re all helpful and friendly. Go check them out!

I’m so glad this shop exists. Amazing selection. Tons of back issues to fill any collection and even some rare and graded comics hanging on the back wall. Great selection of trade paperbacks too. 15% off your pull list if you set up a subscription and free bags and boards with every comic too. They also have statues and busts and offer a good selection of star wars, star trek and other pop culture items. Looking for a shirt to where to the next convention or trade show, they gots that. What’s even more incredible is the staff. It’s a family operated business and they do an amazing job making sure that everyone who comes through their door finds what they are looking for. If they don’t have what you are looking for, they will help you find it. Everyone is greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. This shop is a true gem serving the Jacksonville and St Augustine area.
