My Mother In Law and daughter scheduled manicures together as-the school is reasonably priced, and offers an opportunity to support local education. Because they are students there was no expectation of perfection-just a basic manicure in a clean environment. It was a really disappointing experience. The appointment time was changed by the school-that was fine. When my family members arrived the salon was not busy. The trainees were pleasant. That is where the OK part of the experience ended. My Mother In Law said there was no light in the work area(a suggestion was made that more light was needed but nothing was done about it). The salon was dirty. The trainees were not supervised, nor was the quality of their work reviewed. My Mother In Law’s nails were fine. My daughters were awful-like a 12 year old painted your nails awful. I don’t blame the tech-she is learning. I do blame the teaching staff-they should not have let my daughter walk out of the salon having paid for that service. Its a lose –lose. The students are not receiving the training they paid for, and the client is paying for a sub-standard service. This is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write on Unilocal.Really bad-for students and patrons.

I’ve had yet to have a bad experience at this salon. It may take longer than at a typical salon due to the fact that students are performing your services, but it always turns out great. When they work on hair, their supervisors check up on them a lot to make sure that nothing goes wrong(which really goes a long way, I usually don’t see this high of a supervision level at most beauty schools.)

The price is right — but be prepared to spend a lot of time there and without a lot of direction. Some of the girls seem pretty good — but I was a walk in and got a total newbie and she had no idea what she was doing and she got zero support from the management team(aka Grandma — yuk!). So — maybe ask for a more experienced person if you want something done right.
