Great place you definitely need to stop by at if your planning new a night out in St Charles! Even in cold winters they make sure it’s super cozy and warm inside like your actually at a beach.
Their drinks are amazing! My favorite is the Funky Monkey! Their pricing is good for what you get.
The staff is super friendly and welcomes everyone that comes through the door.
You NEED to come here!

I love this hidden gem! This is a great stop on a St. Charles bar crawl. Enjoy a fruity drink in the tropical ambiance with relaxing Hawaiian music.

Super tiny bar. We’ve dropped by on occasion at the end of the night a few times. Always expecting to be ignored, but the waiters/​waitresses do their best to make you feel welcome. Drinks aren’t terribly strong and the drinks are quite «touristy»; something you would expect from the hotel bar in Florida. That being said, the drinks, atmosphere and people can transport you to a warmer place without having to pay for an expensive vacation. It’s a cute place and the staff are always very friendly. A place in which we will continue to return.

Went here for my 21^st birthday seeing as I don’t like strong drinks. Most of their drinks have strawberry (which I’m allergic to) but the funky monkey was one of the best drinks I had that night! The atmosphere was super relaxing and not too loud. The employees were extremely nice and patient and knew what drinks to tell me to try! If you’re in Saint Charles I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

Love this place. Beach theme. Small but quaint. Serves Land Shark beer which is hard to find in this area. Bartender was very friendly and everyone in the place seemed to be ha I got a good time. Only stopped in for a quick drink but excited I have found this place. This will be a go to stop for any trip to St Charles in the future.

We find lots of humor in coming in here. It’s our end of the evening, probs should head home last drink when we’re out sometimes… It’s cute– great dessert type frozen cocktails but they have a full bar as well. There is usually Jimmy Buffet playing, there is lots of things all over the very small place to «I spy» while there. It’s just an upbeat place to go… It’s like being in a beach hut… If it’s all I can have as far as the beach… Y not stop in for a frosty beverage!

Tiki Bar!
Sometime very early this morning and New Year, we had two drinks in this cozy little hideout.
Maybe seats 50, and their last call is probably 1am. My partner had a funky monkey, and I had some blue vodka drink that I got them to substitute gin in. They had never made it b4 but said why not, and it worked. When I get the name, or make one up, I will post it. Solid drinks, fairly priced, a lot of the island drink thing going on but they weren’t skimping on the alcohol.
This place is way cute and fun and I hope no one else ever finds it because it’s too small for much of a crowd, but I’m going to post a review anyway. Some solid reggae going on and thankfully no Jimmy Buffet during my first hour this year. We had walked by here hundreds of times and this morning was the morning.
Our server Chris was fun and willing to try something new and Dawn was able to make the gin mod artfully.
Great spot to watch the drunks, druggies, and cops work the Filling Station. Does not have a super late license like the Filling Station.
Do NOT drink and drive anyway but particularly not in Kane County, they have a fascist disregard of the constitution and illegal search and seizures as regards traffic safety checks.
Get a room.

Peter and Kyle are amazing. Don’t came @ 1:15 & expect amazing service. They are fun and easy going.

Dawn’s is a hidden gem in Saint Charles! It makes a great first stop if you’re planning on bar hopping downtown Saint Charles. Strong drinks, friendly bartenders, decent prices and a beachy atmosphere year round. Check it out.

So laid back, awesome music, one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had (Lindsey). I wish I lived closer I’d be here all the time.

Overly priced. I don’t think there was any alcohol in my drink. Small and dark — there are so many other bars in St. Charles that are much better than here.

Came in here and asked for a Mai Tai and the bartender looked at me like I had 3 eyes. You can’t call your bar a ‘beach hut’ and not offer a Mai Tai, sorry.

Love Dawn’s! It’s a small little getaway. The drinks are mainly fruity/​tropical and they don’t skimp on the alcohol! Try to Funky Monkey, it’s the best!

Small lame place with drinks that will give you diabetes. The place has weird hours and appears to not to be open all of the time. The bartender can make some strong drinks though

Sweet drinks. Not strong, but, tasty. Friendly. «Island» atmosphere is kinda fun. Small. Clean. Jimmy Buffett and Beach Boys covers…(better to pay BMI for the real tunes). Dawn, you have a nice place, all-​in-​all, but next time we want to feel the rum! 3.5 for effort. Showing 4 to be nice, because they are nice. Side note: walk into 222 next door for a good burger.

What a fun little place in downtown STC. I’d never stopped in before, but as we were making the rounds for a 21^st birthday celebration we dropped in. The bar was nearly empty– and the server on duty was very friendly but a bit unusual (not Dawn). They have a small menu of fruity frozen drinks– so if that is not your speed, this place likely is not for you. However, for most of our party it was at least a nice starting spot. We signed a dollar on the wall to commemorate the occasion, and my cousin enjoyed a special beverage Dawn prepared for just such an event. Will definitely go back in the future if I am invited to attend.

Dawn’s has been open for quite some time, but I’ve never had the opportunity to come here, since the tiny place is usually packed. Yesterday afternoon, my friend and I stopped in since it was early, and surprisingly, we were able to sit at a high top table. I think Dawn must have been the bartender/​waitress based on her description in other reviews: she was helpful, friendly and prompt. The whole theme of the bar is very cute and it is cozy.
The reason for my three stars is the drink itself. I love frozen drinks and when she mentioned the lava flow was comparable to a Miami vice, I was all over it. The thing is, the drink was overly sweet. I prefer drinks made with fresh ingredients, and thought since the big sell here is frozen drinks that they would use quality ingredients. I was disappointed in the drink, although the presentation was nice. The strawberry portion of the drink tasted similar to jelly.
Overall, the service was great but the drink was not good. I’d come here and perhaps try a different drink if a friend asked me, but I doubt I’d go on my own volition. I don’t want my review to dissuade people from trying it out because it’s a cool little place and others may find the drinks palatable, but I can’t handle that much sugar.
