Shop looks interesting from the outside. Wished we could have went inside. Garvey Décor was closed well before closing time on a week night.

This is one of my new favorite places to explore! They offer a fun selection of various items at very reasonable prices. Items include furniture, dishes, decorative pieces, antique jewelry, holiday décor, etc. I first heard about the store from a woman at my salon and was excited to see what they had. Not being from the area, I drove past the store my first time and had to take the long way around to get back to it. When traveling on North St. Peters Parkway(one way street), turn right on Garvey Parkway(immediately after passing a park). Once you turn onto Garvey Pkwy, make an immediate left into the small parking lot in front of the main entrance. This will be obvious upon visiting. But If you miss the right turn, North St. Peters Pkwy is a one way road and it was a pain to go all the way back around to get there. Try not to miss it! :) I have visited twice in the past month and have left each time with several treasures. However, their customer service could use a little polishing. The first time I visited in November, a woman(which I believe she said she was the owner) offered free candy upon store entry and explained any discounts available. She gave a genuine warm welcome and was very friendly! He son eagerly helped me move a larger item I was interested in and even found a light bulb to test if the electrical component worked. When it was found to be operational, I wanted to purchase it(with the bulb). The woman said that was just fine. But a younger woman who was working the register(possibly her daughter) was upset about how she was saving those specific«newer» light bulbs, and she snidely said right in front of me, «A customer can get their own bulb.» SORUDE. If the items were common, run of the mill goods, I would have walked out of the store without buying a thing! The second time I visited, two different people were working, and they literally ignored me the entire time I browsed and acted inconvenienced when I asked any questions about specials. I was in the store for at least an hour on a snowy day, and they did not seem to care whatsoever that I might be one of their only customers all day due to the bad weather. Discounts: Garvey currently has a policy where they basically take 10% an item for every month it has been for sale(max 30%). They also have a «Garvey dog»(ceramic item about the size of a juice box) placed somewhere in the store; if found, they take 10% of the finder’s total purchase! I probably spent 30 minutes looking for this dog last time I was in, but made it worth my time by getting 10% off. They only do it once a day, so be sure to ask if it has been found when visiting. As I was the only one in the store, the odds were in my favor. :) Four stars for good selection and fair pricing. There is a lot to see for the size of this store. I drive about 30 minutes from Webster to visit Garvey because I love shopping at local businesses and finding a deal on unique items. If the customer service was better, I’d probably visit more.
