If you are looking for Greek food on the Eastside this is the place. We have been coming here since the place opened. The food and service are outstanding. Our favorite salad is the Village salad. The saganaki, the tzatziki and the taramosalata are great appetizers. For main course the lamb choices are excellent and if you are looking for fish the Lavraki Branzini is really special. They also have great desserts. The Rizogalo is great and the Loukoumades is second to none.

Good food, but I still like the Greektown location way better… Pretty pricey, but if you’re in the mood for Greek food, this is definitely your go to place. The spinach pie is amazing.

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the east side especially being right on Jefferson in the heart of Lake St. Clair. The Chicken lemonato sauté is the Best chicken dish I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here and the service and manager really appreciate taking care of their customers.

Really really good Greek food. Sumptuous lamb chops. Good mousaka. The cold appetizer plate is a must! Had the Platos Platter. I’d do it again. $ 30 well worth it. Great attentive service. Real Greek bread. Love this place. Pretty inside too.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Good environment and reasonably priced. Good fresh tasting food. Their Greek salad is amazing! And the bread was really good and they kept if full for us. We had the fried zucchini as an appetizer. It was fresh and served with a garlic spread. Not a fan of the garlic spread but if you like the raw spiciness of garlic it would be perfect. Nothing bad just not for me. As for dinner I had the chicken lemonata and it was really good. I wasn’t a fan of the rice and green beans covered in a red type sauce. Next time I’ll make sure to ask for it without the sauce. Chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the combo platter with lamb and spinach pie thingy. It was not appealing to the eye. They overloaded the plate and then smothered the whole thing in the same red sauce that was on my side dishes. I would not suggest the platter. My husband wasn’t able to eat it because of its appearance and the sauce so we shared my chicken. Even though his meal was unappetizing we will go back and try it again. The server was very helpful, friendly, and made sure our drinks stayed filled and that we had everything we needed. Looking forward to eating here again. My husband is willing to try something else too but I would suggest asking that they don’t put the red type sauce on anything. It comes on you sides automatically so make sure to tell them you don’t want it.

Worst meal my husband and I have ever eaten. His food was dry while mine was dangerously undercooked. There were flies and the food was terrible and way, way overpriced.

I have eaten here many time, and while it is not as good as the Greektown location it WAS a close second especially since it was a quicker drive and you usually never have a wait. That was until this past weekend. I typically stick to the same dish every time which is the Lamb Yuvetsake. Occasionally I will stray away, but this is my go to there. This time however is making me rethink ordering this ever again. On my third bite I nearly chipped my tooth on a bone that was the size of a medium rock. I immediately flagged our Server down to show her. She apologized and I told her it was fine, I’d just need to be more cautious the rest of my meal. A few more bites in and I find another bone just as big! This time I caught it before it went in my mouth. I called her over again, this time beyond disgusted and told her I was done and handed the plate to her. She just looked at me dumbfounded, apologized again and took it away. Something like this I would have expected her to inform a manager so they could come over to try and rectify the situation, but she didn’t. All she did was take it away and remove it from the bill. If these had been little bones I would have been more lenient because they are harder to spot, but these things were pretty massive and their cooks did a very poor job when it came to quality control. My wife ordered the Gyro Platter and it looked like a five year old plated it as everything was just slopped together haphazardly. It just looked very messy. The first thing she asked me in a half joking manner was if she got someones leftovers that they hadn’t finished. Needless to say it will be quite some time before we go back there.

Been meaning to hit this place for awhile. Drive by all the time when visiting the marina and finally made the stop. We ordered the chicken lemonata and chicken filet dinners with mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes and green beans and peas. Everything was very tasteful and filling. Both potatoes and veggies were very good. Service was great and friendly(host took our carry out). Only flaws were no carry out menus, the price was a bit too high and the bathroom was dated and dirty compared to rest of the restaurant. We will return!

Another great meal here. I’m sorry I can’t recall the waiters name. He was an older man with dark hair. He was fantastic. He was serving several tables while waiting on us. There were 5 of us and I’m glad we made reservations. By 7p.m. Saturday night they were jammed. We were there to celebrate our birthday. Though the table was set for 5 I felt squished. But after a few OPA’S I got over it. We ordered so much food and everyone loved their dinner. Several appetizers. My favorite being beets and garlic. I could have lit a match with my breath afterwards. Artichokes were spot on. The feta cheese on our salad was awesome. So smooth and creamy. Lamb chop cooked to perfection. My sister raved so much about the lemon rice soup I had to order one too. She was right. Delicious. I can’t wait to go back again soon.

It’s gotten a lot better than what it was. It’s about a 3.5 but rounded it to 4 stars. They seem to have a decent staff too. It’s worth another shot if you had been here in the past they got it better than what it was. My dish could of used a bit more sauce but it was still good and I didn’t feel like asking for anything else. It’s either right the first time or not but it was good enough as is, but you might have to ask for extra sauce if they skimp on you or maybe it was a brief oversight. If anything is not good just tell the server as they seem good at redoing things that don’t seem up to par. I must admit their service has been really good and that puts them at 4 stars.

We know we’re going to have a great meal at Pegusus. My personal favorite is Chicken Lemonato. Of course we had the Saganaki, a perfect way to start our meal. Top it onto Greek bread and you’re in heaven. This location is closer than Greektown and just as yummy!

I am still happy that I can go to the Shores rather than all the way downtown for some Greek food! I’m still not convinced that the food here is not prepared well in advance and frozen, as I’ve had a few experiences where the my dinner was cold(not warm, but cold), and when it came it back, it was steaming like it was just microwaved… With that being said, that hasn’t happened in quite some time, and recent experiences have been very good. Despite my suspicions on the freshness of the food, I’ve not been disappointed in any meal that I’ve had here. Mediterranean food is just so flavorful, and unique compared to «American» foods, and I always enjoy trying something new each time I go. The service has always been fast and friendly, and the restaurant is super clean with a very comfortable atmosphere. Other than«food gate», I can’t complain about anything… but the fact that I have to wonder how fresh everything is, I think I’ll have to keep my rating a little low.

Great Greek food. The scordallia is so good! LOTS of garlic, so do it on a day you don’t have to talk to lots of people! Love the Greek salad. Dressing and feta are great. We always get chicken filet or Lemon chicken. Broiled potatoes and either green beans or peas. I also get a side of the vegetarian red sauce to dip bread and chicken. Service could use a bit of help.

Nearly a five. I’m surprised with the rating on Unilocal — is it the price? I don’t know, but anyway… Yeah, I wouldn’t consider myself a huge fan of Greek food, as my interest is weak in most of what’s on the menu outside of lemon chicken or, like I had today, the gyro. I had been here in the past and ordered the lemon chicken. I really liked it, but it was before I really used Unilocal.I got take out, so I can only speak for the food, but that shit is tasty! It’s a basic gyro with the meat, onions, and tomatoes on a pita, and tzatziki on the side. The portion you get here is pretty good, as they pile on the meat so much that I had to take some off and eat it before I could have a bite of the gyro. I really liked the flavor and the fact that the meat wasn’t dry(easily can ruin a gyro), but was maybe a little bit too salty for my taste. On the plus side, the tzatziki takes away from that saltiness pretty well. The lemon rice soup is alright, but not the best I’ve had. It’s on the thin side, which I’m alright with, but the rice is just mushy. I like the amount of lemon in it though, so that’s a plus. I enjoyed it overall. So… that’s that. A tasty and filling gyro with good lemon rice soup for a meal, or the lemon chicken — really bitchin’ options at Pegasus.

The food was solid. I was very happy with my meal — a bit on the expensive side, however. Not an every week dining occasion — and I’d probably opt to go to the one in Greektown for a better ambiance.

This is our go-to I-don’t-want-to-decide-what-to-cook dinner location. Their gyro meat is very good — I over look the possibility of it not being GF — what you don’t know won’t always hurt you. I really like their greek salads, though they could be less stingy with the beets, even though they do seem to only be the canned variety. The country is eating more beets, after all. The service here is generally good, there was once a waitress who was so bad, when ever we were seated in her section we would ask to be moved. We have not seen her in a long time though, so you should be safe. We come here often and no one else I have dined with has ever mentioned that their food was not very good. The only disappointment I have heard is that the saganaki(flaming cheese) must have changed. It does not melt as good as it used to — reccommend leaving the flames going longer than the server stands there with it.

My second time to Pegasus Taverna was even better than the first because I had the delicious lamb this time. I was with my sister, and fellow Unilocaler, Debbie Z. on a Sunday afternoon. Both of us were impressed with the beautiful atmosphere. Check out the photo I sent, there was a beautiful olive tree decoration and dome above our table. It was pricey, more so because it was Sunday and there were no lunck specials, I suppose. The wines range from $ 7 a glass to $ 13.50 or more. Our glasses of Cabernet were $ 9 each. Of course the wine was fantastic, but a little above what I pay at other places. Debbie and I shared a meal. It was fantastic and Debbie took a picture of it and sent it to Unilocal. We shared the meal and there was enough for Debbie to take home for her dinner. The servings are expensive, but they are also very generous. I know I should not have done it, but I asked to see the dessert tray. Wow! A variety of fantastic looking choices was brought to our table. The dessert I opted for was a delectible concoction of chocolate moose, white chocolate moose, and éclair pastry with chocolate(the kind you get on an ice cream bar) covering the entire top. It was too delicious to describe and I’m gaining two pounds just thinking about it. The name of the dessert was profiterol. «How am I going to remember that name?’ I asked my sister. «Well, think of a prophet and Earl,» she told me. My cousin’s name is Earl Remilong, so in my mind I pictured him dressed like a prophet and it worked. I remembered the name, just so I could share it with all of you Unilocalers. Go there! Try the wine, the lamb, the profiterol. You will thank me when you’re done.

I didn’t even know that there was a Pegasus in St. Clair Shores until I picked up my sister and asked her where she wanted to go for lunch and she picked this place. Well, as you can tell from my previous reviews I do like international foods! So, Pegasus was right up my alley. Parking is very convenient, right next to the front door practically! Walked in and the place was beautiful. Statues of Pegasus were throughout and there was even a wall hanging of Zeus! We sat right under an olive tree as well. Very Mediterranean style throughout the restaurant. We were seated by a window overlooking the Magnificent Mile. You could see the Detroit River from where we were seated, too bad I was with my sister instead of a gentleman — it would have been quite the romantic scene! Ordered wine, a Cabernet and it was the middle price one. Very full bodied and smooth — yum! Then we ordered a Saganaki — love this. The Cheese was perfect when I used it as a spread on a piece of bread. We then went on and ordered Lamb and Rice with peas. A little tip here — don’t order your main entrée right after you receive the appetizer because it comes out really really fast. We were munching on the Saganaki and out comes our main entrée. Glad we only ordered 1 entrée for the two of us! There was so much food. The lamb was delectable. Fall off the bone tender and it had a tomato sauce on it that made it very moist. Yellow rice and peas with the tomato sauce on it was also on the plate. Everything from the time we walked in til we left was top notch. It was a little pricey, especially for lunch, we could have gone to the Whitney, but everything was excellent. $ 9 for a glass of wine, $ 6 for the saganaki, and $ 15 for the entrée and then my sister decided to order a dessert as well. She said it was magnificent! — an additional $ 6, so the entire lunch turned out to be with the tip around $ 60 for two people! Definitely a do again, but hopefully with a date next time!
