Loved this place. We ordered several sample/variety dishes and just about everything was awesome. The only down side was our server appeared new and was very nice but a bit forgetful. Had to request several items multiple times. But we would definitely go back if we were in the area again. Btw — scallops were big and very tasty, lobster bowie was amazing And smoked yellow Fin dip was quite flavorful.

The food is what u would expect, good seafood. However, SAVE the cats. They are sweet little creatures looking for a handout and are great for conversation. If you have a problem with a few wild kitty’s asking for a snack, don’t bother coming here. This is a great place, especially with the critters.

Excellent oysters and good service. No frills. But might be the best place to eat on the island close to the private side where we rented a house. Be aware drunk locals in the bar will come over to your table and pester you but they seemed harmless. Even the crab legs were pretty good. Salad was fresh.

I went here with low expectations based on the other reviews. Overall, I think it’s a strong average. Not being a seafood eater, I headed to the«land» portion of their menu and got a burger. It was your typical restaurant burger with fries — nothing too special. I felt the service level from our server was great, although as other reviewers mentioned, they have a weird host situation. Their host seemed to be doing a lot of different things, so there were open tables and a line waiting for the host. The view here is nice, and this is the only oceanfront restaurant on St. George. If nothing else, it’s a good place to eat some fried seafood, drink, and watch the ocean.

I think if you realize what you’re getting into it makes sense. This is likely the best place on St. George, and the only one on the water. The setting is hard to beat especially if you only get to the ocean once a year. That being said this place is pretty expensive(my midwest sensibility here). The food is fresh and good. The grouper is really hard to beat, get the fried(diet be damned) it’s the only way to go. Blackened is for catfish. Conch fritters are probably a necessity… the menu could use an update. Wish the drinks where better, something great, something signature and a wider beer selection would go far(once again my midwest sensibility where fresh local beer is the rule). I still can’t understand how in 2015 a place can’t keep a bathroom clean… just a pet peeve. It also leads me to believe that something needs to change, even with a Saint George institution. Oh and clean up the front of the house, the waitresses rock but man get people seated… waiting while there are open tables is infuriating.

I love this place. Beautiful spot on the beach, casual, great food, and friendly staff. We’ve visited every year for about 10 years… at least twice each trip. Yes, there is usually a wait, as this is one of a handful of restaurants on the island, but just relax and enjoy the view. Drinks are great and food has always been good. This year I had the oysters and the fried grouper sandwich, and both were awesome. Our waitress this year — WENDY — was phenomenal and made our night wonderful. Can’t go wrong with this spot. We’ll be back next summer!

Unfortunately, we started our first night on St George Island eating at this restaurant. The location right on the beach is convenient and the view is gorgeous. Too bad the food and service isn’t right up there with the ambience. We went during prime time on a Friday night and knew that there would be a wait. After getting our name on the list we headed to the bar. There were two bartenders and they weren’t that busy, but somehow it still took forever to be waited on. The mixed drinks are icy and have little to no alcohol in them. Finally seated and started with raw and Parmesan oysters for an app. The raw ones were kind of gritty and they didn’t even bother to detach the oysters so it made them difficult to pick up. The fish sandwiches were okay. The coleslaw was gross. And the fish tacos? Well I can only laugh at their description of «the best tacos North of the border». The tortilla was cold and the fish inside was drenched with way too much of some sort of sauce. We finished with a slice of key lime pie that had no taste at all. Overall this place was way overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food. They should improve their menu and service and bring it up to par with the amazing ocean front view.
