I haven’t seen or been treated by Dr. Moreno, but getting an appointment in her office and dealing with her scheduler, Camey, was not an experience I want to have again; therefore, I’ve asked my primary care doctor to refer me to someone else. My initial consult or referral was sent on the 6^th of April and when I hadn’t received a call after two weeks I called the office. Of course, I had to leave a message with my name and phone #. I waited a few days for a call back and nothing, so I called again. This time I was lucky enough to have the phone answered by Camey. After much searching for my referral she finally came back on and asked me a bunch of questions and said she’d need to talk to the doctor about scheduling me an appointment. I wasn’t sure what that was about, but she said she’d call me back the next day. So 2 ½ weeks go by and I call again; forced to leave a message again. I waited a couple of days and called again. Oh boy, I got Camey again. She asked for my name and searched for my referral and told me she’d have to talk to the doctor before she could schedule me. I wasn’t going to accept that answer and told her that was what she said the last time I spoke with her 2 ½ weeks ago and my call was never returned and that I didn’t want to go through this again. At this time, she got defensive with me and told me that there was nothing else she could do, that she would have to discuss my referral with the doctor. I asked her how this time was going to be different from our previous conversation and would I be ignored again. She said the doctors first available appointment was 3 months away, but if the doctor felt I needed to be seen sooner, she would double book the doctor’s schedule to get me in sooner. When I didn’t feel reassured that she would call me back and I stated that, she said, «What do you want me to do, interrupt the doctor while she was with another patient?» I said, «Of course not, but since it had already been a month since my primary care doctor sent the referral I really wanted to get an appointment scheduled and I didn’t want to wait another 2 ½ weeks or more to get an appointment.» I tried to asked her if she could go ahead and schedule me for her next available appointment and still talk to her about possibly seeing me sooner, she got very irritated with me and interrupted me and said, «what do you want me to do?» I said, «I was trying to tell you, but you are so rude and interrupted me while I was trying to tell you what I want you to do. Now can you let me finish what I was saying?» She snottily said, «Go ahead.» So I asked her to book me the next available and talk to the doctor to see if she wanted to see me sooner. She said she wouldn’t do that, she wasn’t going to book me an appointment then have to cancel it, that would be too much work for her. She stated that she would talk to the doctor as soon as she finished with the current patient she was seeing and call me back within the hour. I had no choice but to accept this option and told her, «Thank you.» 20 minutes later she did call me back and offered me an appointment, first available, in July! It took less than 2 minutes for her to schedule me this appointment! I have a feeling she didn’t speak to the doctor about my case, but instead waited 20 minutes and called me back offering the «first available,» which by-​the-​way is only 2 months from now. So WTH!!! Maybe Dr. Moreno is not hateful and hostile, like her scheduler, but I have to wonder if this is an environment she sets for her staff and if so, I don’t want any part of it!
