Old Pine Island Marine probably has the overall best inventory of tackle anywhere on Pine Island. After going in there frequently in the past few months, it does seem though that they never have in stock what I’m looking for — which would be the popular rigging and lures. Why they don’t keep more of the inventory while it’s in season? I don’t know.
They also must have a real theft problem since they stare at you as you’re shopping like a hawk. It’s so unpleasant that I have to mention it. I know that I do not look like a typical white boot fisherman and maybe that’s what makes ‘em nervous. There are also cameras all over the store.
Prices are slightly higher than elsewhere, but you would spend the price difference or more traveling off the island. Plus you’re shopping local, which everyone should try to do. However, if they never have what I need, I need to drive off the island or order it on line anyway, thus the update to 3 stars.
