A nice atmosphere, nice wine, small cheese and meat platter. VERYEXPENSIVE for what you get.

Really cute, intimate setting. Decent selection of wines to choose from. I was there one day when it was really busy and was standing near the bar to do a tasting. The girl poured my first wine and told me that she would find me for the rest, that I could go and sit down somewhere. Fast forward 15 – 20 minutes, and I was still waiting. So I went back up to the bar for the remainder of my tastings. The wines were literally poured and the name said with no explanation of the wine itself. When doing a tasting I do like to learn a little about the wine, how it was made, etc. So while I really liked the setting itself, my experience during the tasting was lacking

Good choice for a vineyard if you’re from the NYC boroughs, and don’t feel driving out 2⁄3 hours into LI. Not a destination vineyard, but more like stopping by if you’re nearby. The wine choices are ok and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very quiet, not crowded with nice staff. Would probably take the drive deeper into Long Island for a more authentic vineyard experience, and for possibly more interesting wine choices.

Cute and cozy. Ended up here just driving around the island and was pleased with what I experienced. Friendly staff. Instead of a wine tasting I did vodka, whisky and moonshine and they were delicious. I’ll be back to try the wines.

I came in with a few friends. Did not expect the tasting room to be so large or to have a nice outdoor patio. I enjoyed my overall experience, as well as the red cape blends and merlots. The chardonnay left something to be desired, though, and I wish we had the option to mix our own flights rather than having them prix-fixed. Still, this is a 4.5 star review as I have very little to complain about.

This place gets an extra star for being unique to the area and for being much closer than wineries out east! Spontaneously, we decided to visit here on a late Friday afternoon. The interior is spacious, rustic, and welcoming. There’s also an outdoor patio area, which is perfect for summer evenings. We chose the long table inside because of the AC. We sampled the reserve, just Merlot, and estate flights. They were all pretty good with my favorite being the red cape blend. Our server was friendly, helpful and informative. We also had the French cheese platter which was fine but definitely overpriced for what was given. I would definitely return especially when I need an hour or two of relaxation sipping on good wine. I may skip the cheese platter next time though.

Overall a lovely experience. The grounds are beautiful and its nice to not have to drive way out east — Wines were delicious and the folks there were really lovely and service was fast and efficient. They really need to re-think the price of the cheese plate, though, it was a laughable about of food for 17.00. I live in Manhattan and get cheese plates twice the size for much less money, that was our only real complaint.

this is a wonderful convenient spot to meet friends after work. The tasting room is warm & comfortable with a view of the vineyards across the street. Almost feels like youre out on the north fork but without the long drive. Love the 2010 Red but am also a fan of the Pinot Griis, light & crisp. We are always greeted with a smile, Denise & Elizabeth are especially friendly. Love this place!

Long Island Vineyard close to New York City only about an hour away. The taste of the wines is very delicious. You can taste wines, beer, vodka, bourbon, and whiskey! the amount of tastings is limitless. Very good quality wines and the cheese and meat were amazing it was a little bit pricey I thought but the quality outweigh the price.

Visited a week or so ago, its so great to have a nice winery thats close enough to get to without having to drive all the way out east… and then sit in traffic. They have a nice selection of wines which are steel aged which I prefer, its a cleaner taste. The prices are good for the flights and by the glass. Whats really cool is that they have a NY spirits tasting too!!! Also a few beers on tap. They have some small plates I thought they were a little pricey for the quantity but the quality was very good. There is an indoor tasting room and small gift type shop and a covered outdoor patio which was very nice. Its actually across the road from the vineyard so its scenic. The service was very good too. There isnt a lot of parking if this starts to get busier that could be an issue but it was really enjoyable. All in all a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon.

I am so happy that there is a winery that is about 40 minutes from home so that we don’t have to drive 1.5 hours to North Fork. We came here with kids on a weekday and enjoyed light lunch-hubby and I each did a tasting and then we all shared two cheese platters. The staff is very friendly. We bought 4 bottles for home.

I have been to 17 different vineyards on the island hoping to try them all. Whisper is a lot more convenient to go to distance wise compared to the north fork vineyards. The tasting room has a cozy country vibe to it and there is an outside seating area surrounded by flowers that they sell. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the wine was good. The only problem I found is while the wine was good(sampled the reserve and estate flights) it wasn’t spectacular. After the flights my girlfriend and I ordered a glass each and we went on a Thursday when it’s 25%off glasses. The glass of wine cost as much as the flight which I thought was a little ridiculous. Overall I would prefer out east for more flavorful tasting wine but wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying this place for themselves.

Wine was very good and there was an extensive menu. The staff is very knowledgeable. Good ambiance. HOWEVER, myself and my group of friends were treated VERY poorly. We are all in our early twenties and they scrutinized our Ids. I am 24 and had my passport on me and the waitress(possibly one of the owners too) asked me why I don’t have a license, as if a passport is not a legitimate form of identification. She then left for ten minutes and came back to recheck all of our IDs and ask us where we live and why we were in NY since some of us had out of state IDs. Once they decided to serve us, the server was very curt with us and rude. Although they were very friendly and talkative with the rest of their patrons, they ignored our table after this whole ID incident. My question is, what under aged person goes to a wine tasting in the middle of the day to get drunk? This is a very nice place, but they have a superior attitude and made a big mistake by snubbing us.

This place was wonderful! The tasting room is beautiful and the wine was absolutely delicious. The man serving us was friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to really tell us the nuances in the wine. Apparently he also makes furniture from the wine barrels and they are breathtakingly beautiful. I would highly recommend going to this new up-and-coming vineyard. Best of luck to them!

This place is freakin’ awesome — it was a VERY long wait for all of us in the area, and after much ado, it’s finally open. Feel free to read their story on what they had to go through, online, and even a site to dispell all the stupid untrue rumors floating around. The tasting room is gorgeous, it’s easily accessible, and when you don’t want to go to the NoFo for wine tasting, it’s right in your back yard(assuming you’re within reasonable distance). Cheers to those who finally got over themselves for allowing such an amazing place to open. My favorites are their 2007 Merlot &2007 Red Cape Blend. It’s what you would expect from a LI Merlot and their Red Cape Blend has a great black pepper /licorice finish going on that is truly enjoyable. Come here and enjoy some fantastic wine, fantastic people, and order up some cheese/charcuterie plates to pair. THIS has been a review by Gaurav
