The service was in spot! Food was very nicely presented & tasted delicious. The menu had a nice selection — not just Italian entrees. The atmosphere was as I had expected, quiet & quant. The appetizer(eggplant) was perfect, the entrée followed(veal) in perfect timing. It was a very nice experience. The prices were fair as well. I would go there again, should I be back to the area again.

I am shocked and feel like I had been tricked. The waiter told my wife and I the special he never mentioned the price. We are thinking a couple bucked more then the menu prices OMG $ 44.00 each for Mai in lobster sauce. Menu prices $ 18.00-$ 22.00. The Mai was so bad we go it to go a thru it in the trash. But most of all the rediculous price gouging in that manner. Lesson learned always ask the price. Very disappointed in this situation.

Saturday night, April 23,2016 Six of us met up for dinner here and 3 of us were very happy with their meal, two thought it was fine and one of us, me, didn’t care for my meal. I had the chicken Marsala and it was dry, bland and just not enjoyable. I think there were maybe 3 mushrooms on my plate. Service was fine, no knocks at all here. Atmosphere was really nice too. It was strange that the bar was in the Casino hallway. Hardly any atmosphere with a set up like that. My opinion is, if you want to go to Charlie Gittos, don’t go to the one at Hollywood Casino. It’s just another casino restaurant. The illusion is not worth it. To

Had dinner here tonight for my 53rd Birthday. The service was HORRIBLE and i do Mean HORRIBLE!!!(TWOPENNIESFORYOUMYGOODSIR). The food was so so for my guests, but my chicken was awful and reminded me of cardboard, and not the tasty kind. YUCK I will never dine here again.

Usually I don’t go to a casino for Italian food or any food for that matter) but I didn’t feel like driving to the hill and I really didn’t want Olive Garden. We were pleasantly suprised– the décor was nice and the prices weren’t too bad. The food was good, I had the cannelloni and they wait to pour the sauce on until it reaches the table so it doesn’t get soggy. The wife was happy with her pasta. The bread they bring out is fairly bland though. Would have like to have seen an olive oil dip as opposed to bland butter but oh well. The reason I made this a 5 star review instead of a 4 star was the service. Our waiter was terrific. I got a spot of marinara on my shirt and he noticed from across the room and brought a club soda(without being asked). Also, my wife dropped some pretty big news and he brought out a wonderful desert to celebrate. I would reccomend Charlie gittos to anyone. Top notch.

We had excellent, excellent service. Prices are a bit high at this location(only reason I can’t give it 5th star). Everything tasted very good, but it was still pricey for what it was. The complimentary bread was fresh-baked, served with butter, and I was really happy I ordered the lobster bisque. I would absolutely get that again! For my entrée, I had veal nunzio. The nunzio preparation was topped with cheese and lump crab meat and was very tasty on the veal. I was easily able to eat all my veal but not necessarily all the potatoes that came with it. For dessert, I split a strawberry cheesecake, which was light and creamy and perfect.

So disappointing… Arrived at 10PM the restaurant was open till 11PM first server arrived asking for drink order. Asked for wine list and a few minutes. Next waiter arrived at our table saying he was replacing the previous waiter who was off for the night. He asked for our dinner order. We hadn’t decided on drinks yet. Didn’t like we were being passed off to another waiter who had no customer service interest. When food arrived plates were hot but food only warm. Not much more interaction with us. Saw a couple arrive at the hostess stand at 10:47 and were turned away. Even though they are open until 11. I’ve been to Chesterfield and the Hill locations very satisfied with the fine dining experience. Hollywood Casino location is overrated and doesn’t deserve to be associated with the Charlie Gitto’s family name. Never will return. Employees seemed rushed short and overall ready to get out of the restaurant early.

OMG… classic Italian at it’s best. I must start with the awesomely, delicious drinks. I love, love, love their chocolate martini’s, even at $ 13 a pop and don’t sleep on their white russian’s at $ 7.50 a glass or so. They’re well worth it. Ohhh and the long island isn’t bad either. A few MUST try eats: the Meatballs(don’t sweat the $ 10 tag), the Caesar salad, the chicken spedini and ooohhhhh that tortellini!!! Of course I’m a sucka for bread and butter and they deliver. It’s an absolute heavenly accompaniment to sop up their various rich sauces. I can’t wait to return, looking forward to going through the menu dish by dish.

Extremely disappointed. Valentine’s Day was pathetic at Charlie Gitto’s Called ahead for the dress code and was told business casual. Showed up in a dress and heels with my date only to watch as several people exited in jeans while we waited. Top that off with the patron in sweatpants and a hoodie! Next up you have the rushed service and nearly non-existent waiter. Our glasses were filled and table bussed quickly but not by the waiter. We had to ask for the wine list and then weren’t asked if we wanted to order anything before he took the list and dashed away. Our waiter was at our table to take our order and leave the check. He didn’t go any further. The food was the only reason I gave it 2 stars. The filet mignon nunzio was delicious. Beware two things: you don’t get a choice of sides and there is very little crabmeat on top.

I came with a large group, so we were seated in a nice private dining room. The wine list was good, though beer choices were sparse. The food was delicious and the service good, but lacked some of the finer polish one should expect from this kind of experience and price range — not really a surprise with the demise of formal dining. Still, a very enjoyable traditional Italian meal, worthy of special occasions.

This place is really good. We had garlic cheese bread for an appetizer. The toasted ravioli is the best that I have had. Baked spaghetti is to die for and the manicotti is really good as well. The staff is friendly and it is a comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Had a work celebration here for 6. Restaurant is nice, can’t tell your in a casino. Food was average to bad. My colleague ordered Lobster ravioli and they were still frozen in the middle. I ordered veal and it was tough and not edible, and tasted of freezer burn. They are thawing pre made frozen entrees here and charge you for fresh made. Go to the hill for the real thing. I regret we didn’t.

I love CG’s on the hill. This location shares the old-world feel, but you never forget that you are inside a casino. Primarily due to the clientele. There were men with sleeveless shirts, backwards ball caps, and one person was in their PJ’s. WTF. I doubt that would fly at the other location. The food is so good. Although we felt that the portions were a little smaller. I’m not sure if that is true. We had their signature shrimp appetizer. It was really good, but for $ 20 you get 3 large shrimp. I’m not sure that is a fair price. The trout was thin but yummy. You’ll drop some dough here. One tip… I think Costco has 2 $ 50 gift certificates for ~$ 75. Service here is ok… but doesn’t feel as refined as the other location. The food runner walked by our table and told our server he was going out for a smoke. Uh dude, you might want to keep that conversation out of the dining room.

Went here tonight for a family dinner. Truly a 5 star experience from beginning to end. There wasn’t much of a wait as we had arrived around 8pm after their usual peak dinner time. Once we were all seated, the waiter promptly placed a basket of their house fresh crusty baked bread on the table with a bowl of some fantastic whipped butter on the side. We had decided to order the seafood risotto and the roasted mushroom pizza after much deliberation over myriad choices on the menu. First off, the seafood risotto was mind-blowingly good. The portion size was just perfect with enough to save for a nice treat for lunch the next day. There was also a generous amount of seafood with delicious morsels of fresh prawns, clams, langostinos, mussels, and bay scallops throughout the dish. The Arborio rice was cooked to tender near al dente perfection in a creamy white wine pepper sauce. I need to learn how to make this dish at home next. The roasted mushroom pizza was next and is good enough for two hungry people. It is topped with fresh spinach, button mushrooms, portabella mushrooms, porcini mushrooms, pesto, and fontina. The crust was very tasty and had a good amount of chew to it. Although this was also a solid choice, the clear winner of the night was the seafood risotto. The service was also great as the wait staff was attentive throughout the meal but never intrusive and the ambiance is good for a nice romantic dinner date. I’ve never been to the location on the Hill so I can’t comment on the experience here versus the Hill as mentioned in some of the other reviews here but IMO this is a great restaurant and one that I will be glad to visit again and again.

Didn’t have to wait because we made a reservation before going. The food was great everyone was pleased. Our friends from Seattle were in town for the holidays so we got Toasted ravioli to start. I got the Caesar salad and Tortellini alla Panna it was amazing! I didn’t think I could do Italian after my fiancé and I visited Rome, Florence, Venice back in May but the Tortellini here was definitely on par! This is a new favorite place for me!

The pink cognac sauce in their signature Penne Borghese dish is amazing. Get it and you’ll love it. I don’t eat pasta more than a couple times a year but this place is the best around and worth the carb splurge. I order it without ham and onions and I cover it with graded cheese and it’s like nothing else. Nothing else to eat here. This is their signature dish.

This was the second time I have dined at this restaurant, and in fact one of the principal reasons I flew here from LA and started my Midwest road trip in St. Louis was to eat here again. Once more, we were not disappointed by the food or service. Complimentary bread was good and crusty. Then we opened with an Italian Cheese Pizza as an appetizer. A mix of Mozzarella, Fontina, Parmesan, and Gorgonzola Cheeses, the pizza was served hot out of the oven, had a perfect thin crust, and cheese that I was able to literally pull like taffy from my teeth as I consumed it. It was simply superb, and I cannot recall experiencing a better all-cheese pizza. It was a glorious way to start our meal, and we accepted our waiter’s offer to add some grated Parmesan Cheese on top. It may have been odd to order a French Onion Soup with an Italian meal, but I just knew this would be a good one that I would not want to pass by. A ring of deconstructing croutons circled the top of the soup with well-melted clouds of Fontina Cheese and well-caramelized onions apparent in the savory broth. Meanwhile, Diane’s Lobster Bisque did not contain any chunks of lobster but was nevertheless smooth and light. My Caesar Salad with Classic Caesar Dressing, fresh Parmesan shavings, and croutons was also quite fine before we launched into our entrees. My Veal Saltimbocca featured veal that was thin sliced and sautéed with prosciutto, Fontina Cheese, and a White Wine Sage Demi-Glacé. It was thinly pounded but not extremely so, and just barely fork tender with a little fatty bounce to it. The dish was suitably moist, and the sage-flavored sauce was great. It included an abundance of very tasty prosciutto – probably the most flavorful prosciutto I have encountered to date. And, Diane’s Veal Nunzio Alfredo, which was baked with Fontina and Parmesan Cheeses, appeared to be just as delicious as my veal choice. Both portions were generous, too. Fresh Green Beans with onions that accompanied my entrée were delicate, and the Roasted Potatoes were well cooked and fork tender skin-on rounded lengths of potato that beautifully completed a very fine meal. But I was not quite done. I finished with a refreshing but somewhat icy adequate serving of Spumoni Ice Cream. Our reserved booth that could seat four was quite comfortable; the ambiance was romantic; and service was excellent. New glasses of Iced Tea were put out before the old were finished. It may be awhile before I get back here again, since I live over 1,500 miles away. But I will surely return to this fine Italian ristorante as often as I can.

My friend Neichole had gotten me a free night at the Harrah’s Casino Hotel, so I figured, why not make this into a romantic staycation for my boyfriend’s Valentine’s Day present. I made reservations for 9:30 since I wasn’t getting off work til late. We made it to the hotel, dropped off our luggage in the room then went to our reservation at Charlie Gitto’s. Upon arrival, we were quickly welcomed by the hostess and not too soon after our server, Mark F, a veteran to Charlie Gitto’s for nearly 23 years. With such a warm welcome, it truly foreshadowed the rest of our meal. Since there were not many patrons in the restaurant, we never had any problems with the little things such as getting our drinks refilled immediately or waiting for a long time to get our food. For starters, I ordered Jason and myself a glass of Leonard Krusch Piesporter Riesling. Since we were going to have good portion sized entrees, we opted to skip out on salads and appetizers. When Mark returned to get our orders, he listed off some specials which I ended up picking one of. I ordered the Seafood Ravioli stuffed with lobster, scallops, and shrimp in a homemade clam sauce. My entrée was so much better than I anticipated! The combinations of everything was so heavenly good. It was not too heavy on the sauce and very light and savory. I can’t think of a single thing that was not good about this dish. I traditionally do not like scallops, but since they were so subtle, you could not even notice them. I’m glad they were not overpowering. May I also mention that the dish itself didn’t leave a weird fishy taste in my mouth after either. Jason and I had discussed the idea of getting a dessert, but being less than a week after my birthday, I thought why not try to chime in on the free stuff! We ended up getting a traditional Italian celebration cake slice called a Casata Cake. It’s basically pound cake layered with Italian pudding with strawberry drizzle and whipped cream on the side. He brought out the dessert with a candle lit on it. I have to say my birthday wish did come true. I wished for an amazing night with J, and that it would be a nice escape. With the help of Mark, Charlie Gitto’s pleasant ambiance, I’d have to say everything pulled together quite nicely. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic setting with excellent service and food!

I’ve eaten at this restaurant several times and not once have I been disappointed. Lobster Bisque, awesome. The lobster is really there! Eggplant Parmesean, awesome. The appetizer portion is large enough for 2 — 3 to share. Very enjoyable. Lasagna, it’s huge! I’ve enjoyed this a few times. Crabcake appetizer, taste very good. Lump crabmeat in the mix. You only get 1 and it’s not very large, so don’t expect to share this. I always have the Wedge Salad with the Garlic Asiago Dressing. That dressing is the absolute best!
