Worst Kinko’s in St. Louis. The staff there are lazy and incompetent. Nine out of ten times the computers are having issues completing the most simplest of tasks (example: attaching a word document to be emailed). Also, when presenting a task that runs into an issue, staff are always unwilling to help and problem solve. Classic response, «Don’t know what to tell you.» Chuck is the Manager there. I’ve spoken to him about these issues, but nothing seems to be resolved. Very unprofessional. Do yourself the favor and don’t give them your business.

I don’t even know where to start.
Ok so FedEx Office (does anyone else still want to call this chain Kinkos like I do?) is supposed to be able to help you with all of your office and business needs, right? I needed some small signs made for business. Sounds about right, right?
So I walk in and go up to the counter that says «Full Service» and tell the guy I need about 10 little signs made. Instead of taking the opportunity to just do it and charge me a buttload, he says, «Yea just go over to a computer over there and make what you want, and then we’ll get it all printed for you.» I am not a graphic designer. I am not any kind of designer. I can almost draw, if given enough time. And even then you’re gonna just look at what I’ve drawn and be like, «Oh! Look at that! That’s nice.» More of an A for effort type of thing, know what I’m saying?
So I tell the guy, «Well I’m not really good at that.» And he’s like, «Just go give it a shot. It’s pretty easy. Otherwise it’s going to cost you upwards of $ 30 for me to do it for you.» OH NO! NOT $ 30 FOR SOMETHING I WANT TO LOOK PROFESSIONAL AND GOOD! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!
So I’m tooling around in Photoshop which I’ve never used for more than a minute or two in my life. I have no idea how to make it do what I want it to do. So this thing is charging me by the minute, and I’m just wasting time and money and getting nowhere. Eventually I get away from that part and come back to the FULL SERVICE (I repeat this again, with emphasis) counter to say, «Hey man. Look I really have no idea what I’m doing over there. All I want are about 10 little signs, maybe 4“x3″, that all say $ 20, and one that says $ 25. I need them laminated as well. And I’d like it if it wasn’t just the price on a white background. If we could put a border around it or something that would be perfect.»
He’s trying to tell me how to do it, so that it he doesn’t have to do it himself. And I KNOW that if this guy just does it himself, I’ll be out of there in a heartbeat. These people are supposed to help you with this sort of thing, right? That’s what I thought they were there for.
Reluctantly he ends up sort of doing what I’m asking for. But he doesn’t understand the border thing. And is telling me it’s going to be so many more cuts and that it’s X amount per cut and blah blah blah. I’m getting frustrated, and another person working there is seeing this whole thing and totally does nothing.
Eventually I get something sort of like what I was looking for. I guess. And that costs roughly $ 36. If only this guy gave a little bit of a shit more and spent a little more time on it, hey maybe I would’ve gotten what I was looking for, and oh my god… maybe I would have spent more money??! Woah. Hang on. I’m still reeling from that revelation.
Just because I look young and I’m wearing shorts doesn’t mean I’m a kid and doesn’t mean I’m not a customer who’s going to pay you some good fucking money for quality work. Get your heads out of your collective asses.
