I loved Rac when it was in Clayton 20+ years ago, my first time ordering delivery from the CWE. Toasted Rav, large Rac salad, 18″ pizza black olives, mushrooms, Italian sausage. $ 20+ pizza that I could barely finish one slice of — it smelled so pungent– they must be using canned black olives and mushrooms and adding the liquid that they are canned in to the pizza. Truly smelled like chemicals. Thought it was just me at first but again couldn’t finish my slice. Makes me sad because I really used to love them.

This review is for the delivery. The food is actually pretty decent. We ordered a Stromboli and a calzone. We’re still waiting for them to be delivered over an hour and a half later. We’ve called twice and both times have been told that«it’s on its way.» Since we live about four blocks away, this means their service is not only abhorrent but they’re also happy to lie to you about it. 15 minutes since the last call. Will it ever arrive? The suspense is killer. There’s other pizza places. Don’t bother with this one unless you’re physically walking past.

ugh, their pizza has so much potential! the closest thing to a ny style pizza… but we’ve been disappointed once again. we asked them to make it extra crispy and while the corner piece was super crispy and promising, the middle of the slice was soggy and disappointing. I ended up tearing off the mid section and ate the crust. c’mon, racanelli’s… you could do better.

Went here to grab a quick lunch with my girlfriend. Restaurant wasn’t super crowded and had a nice setup with some space. We opted for lunch specials which include a single topping New York style slice, a side salad, and a drink at a reasonable price. I wasn’t particularly impressed. The salad had almost nothing in the way of dressing, which was disappointing on a salad you don’t make on your own and that comes with dressing already on it. Also, the bacon on my pizza wasn’t great. She fared better with the pepperoni, but her salad was the same. Decent place for a quick bite, but it won’t be working it’s way into my permanent lunch routine.

Okay. 4 stars for what it is. a neighborhood pizzeria. I moved here 2 months ago and this is the closest I’ve found of NY style pizza. I had pepperoni and it was yummy.

To be fair, I am a New Yorker judging pizza that claims to be NY-Style. Good location. Not that crispy. A bit heavy on the cheese(feels like a solid slice of melted cheese your mouth needs to fight to get through…). Sauce leaves much to be desired.

DELICIOUSNYSTYLEPIZZA!!! These guys know what they are doing and have quality ingredients. The sauce was perfect and the cheese was super stretchy and delicious! I will definitely be returning to this place the next time I have a pizza craving.

The pizza was delicious! The salads, however, were rather disappointing, but hey — it’s a pizza place, not a salad place, right? The service was quick and friendly too, and we will definitely be back!

Good pizza, I’ll be sure to ask for well done next time. Then it will be perfect! Toasted ravioli is good here too.

Good pizza, but what would make it really, really good is if it were less well done. It is a bit too done for me, the back of the pizza is almost charred. If you let it sit for a while, it kinda becomes hard. The taste is really good, but it needs a little less time in the oven.

Their pizza is fantastic, it’s among my favorite pizzas in St. Louis! I have two issues with these folks. Firstly, they don’t honor their own coupons, I had a coupon for 16″ pizzas for the price of 14″, and they send 14″ pizzas in 16″ boxes. Secondly, their delivery reliably takes an hour or more to arrive. The last time I ordered(and the last time I order Racanelli’s pizza) my pizza took an hour and 45 minutes to arrive. When it did finally arrive, it was stone cold. Not room temperature, but refrigerator cold.

Awful. What pizza place runs out of «slices»? This place. A 15 – 20 minute wait is now 57 minutes. Nothing but confusion and miscommunication. At least I received my extremely dried up and very toasted raviolis. This place is a joke. Don’t bother. UPDATE: 1 hour 13 minutes, we were informed the only have pizza slices. Can I give this donkey-ass place a negative score?

Waited forever for an average slice of spinach. I probably should of stuck with cheese. I literally sat there and waited for my piece to go and watched a couple come in, eat and leave.

Coworker and I were famished and opted to order pizza. I will not touch Papa John’s and avoid Domino’s and Imo’s. Work is near the CWE so there must be a few places that deliver to us, right? Decided to try Racanelli’s for the first time. Nearly ordered calzones but opted to split a pizza instead. I can’t comment on the usual(convenience of parking, ambiance, cleanliness), so what we have here is a review based on customer service and food quality. Racanelli’s does not earn three stars for poor customer service: — The woman who asked for my address replying, «We don’t deliver north of Delmar.» I work 1.6 miles from the restaurant, and only about half a mile past Delmar. I’m not overly familiar with pizza delivery in the city or the size of the restaurant operation, but that seems like a very small deliver area, and one I found most curious. I simply said, «Oh.» I was about to conclude the call, hang up, and dial Vito’s when she said, «hold on.» She put me on hold for a minute. «We normally do not do this, but we have decided to make an exception and deliver to you.» I thanked them, but I didn’t like that they were acting like they were doing me this huge favor by delivering an extra half a mile away when their delivery area is so small. — Grumpiness and narration(«Then I’m deleting this») when had already entered information for my pizza before hearing that it was half and half. — Put on hold 2 – 3 times on one call. — Payment requirements(whether they could run a card when delivering or needed such information in advance) were not addressed, so I had to call back to check on this and provide such information. Earns two stars for… +Coupons on the website for $ 2 off a pizza. +Delivery person was pleasant, which was a nice change. +Pizza was yum, and I’m difficult to pizzalease. I think I will try Racanelli’s again — so long as they continue to roll out the red carpet for me by delivering more than a mile north, that is. I don’t like being treated like I’m asking for a favor when making a purchase. This is one of the few two-star places I’d like to try again. Maybe it’s indeed a three.

I’m a frequent visitor to Rac’s as the pizza and grinders are the closest thing I can get to being home in New York. This is definitely my favorite pizza place in St. Louis because the slices are huge, convenient, and come at an affordable price that always satisfies! The fresh tomato and basil pizza is a must try along with the bacon cheese burger pizza if you’re feeling advantageous!

Awesome. It is a great place to go to, especially with all the other okay pizza places around. I go here from time to time. The pizza is always delicious. I normally get by the slice. The service can take a bit, but pizza does need to cook. So it’s all good.

Well priced. Location is clean and spacious. When ordering by the slice, be aware slices are quite large. I never need more than one. I have found Cary-out to be pretty quick. Great variety of pizza types and toppings. I would recommend the veggie or the tomato basil. Also, cookies are good. Soda products are Pepsi which is a plus for me. Some outdoor seating.

I finally made it in for a slice. Far better food than the Bread Co on the corner that seems to be a co-worker’s favorite meeting place in the area. I’ve sampled slices around Brooklyn. This place is not 100% authentic but close enough. Very good pizza, topped the way you want and served piping hot. The crust has that certain chewiness and saltiness that defines NY pizza. The cheese is sparse but sufficient. They were very generous with the sausage crumbles and they added just a little bite to the flavor profile. I will definitely be back but there are enough other places on the same block that are on my list that I won’t make it back here for a while… unless I’m in a hurry and just crave a slice.

All around the best NY style pizza in the Lou in my opinion. The spinach is a must try for a topping. Right now they have $ 3 pints and a $ 15 deal for 2 pints of the summer beer and a 14″ 1 topping pizza. Do it! dp

For those looking to «escape» the STL style pie, Raconnelis offers a more traditional new york style pizza. Being from the northeast, it’s not exceptional, but it definitely gets the job done. Certainly the best new york style i’ve had in STL to date. PS– They also sell by the slice(which are large), so can be a great lunch stop.
