I will agree with other reviews that this location is the slowest. I’ve been to two. One grand opening and I will give them the benefit of the doubt, it was packed and slow. This one is slow and the place is not even packed. Sat down and was told it would be 40 minutes. Heard an other group being sat it would be an hour.

The service is always bad. They constantly say they are short staffed, and it takes forever to get food(drive thru or inside). Don’t waste your time, go to the next closest restaurant.

This place has only gone down hill since I’ve lived in this area. Been living here for 40+ years. Just sad. I’m not a fan of fast food, but prefer S’n’S. At one time this was a good location plus is very close to where I live. I think I won’t go back for awhile and hit the other locations near by until they have better service and food. The only other S’n’S that is worst is the one off Hampton. I would never venture back or suggest anyone ever go to that establishment ever.

SLOWESTSERVICEEVER and NOTOPPINGSONMYBURGER? Steak N’ Shake Store #65 right next to South County Mall. Just stopped by to grab some lunch before going into work. I ordered my food at 2:33pm and did not receive my food until 3:00pm. I have never waited that long for a burger and some fries anywhere, no matter how busy it was. I don’t know what was going on in there but it was rediculous. People behind me in the drive-thru were honking there horns, getting out of their cars to see what the hold-up was. I could have left, went to another location down the street and still would have been able to leave the drive-thru before 3:00pm. 27 minute wait for a burger, fries and a couple of chicken tenders. Ha! As I got to work, I opened the bag to find out my burger has nothing but patties on it. WTF?! I ordered a Triple cheeseburger with no Ketchup or Mustard. I’ll post a pic below. I will definitely be calling their manager right away.

Slow service, must have waited at least 30 minutes in drive thru line. Not worth it and won’t be back

I go to this Steak ‘n Shake at least twice a week, especially now that I’m pregnant, it’s usually pretty decent… but this last time I asked for mayo, cheese and grilled onion only on my burger and it had a tiny bit of mayo and like 2 onion slivers on it :-| and the fries were like cold gummy worms. I can’t even believe they gave those out. The food is usually a hit or miss at this location. I’m craving culvers now

I go here at the suggestion of family to this Steak N Shake, never because I want to come here. the service is terrible for starters. I only want to say, WHY do they always leave food in the window just sitting for 15 – 20 mins to get ICECOLD food? they ignore the food sitting in the window, by the time the food makes it to your table it is always cold, every time you come here. it never fails. the worst part is food is sitting in clear view while you’d probably think, shoot, I’ll get up and go to the window and pick up my own food, since it’s well, sitting there with no waitress bothering to pick it up! And their waitresses cannot handle the volume of people who come in here. And yes, its always busy. no matter the day or time. Avoid it. unless you like your hamburgers and fries cold. I don’t.

Awful. .they totally messed up my poor daughters meal, I ordered her the kids corn dogs with fries and a milk received no drink(didn’t realize it till turning onto Lindbergh) and in her bag was a large fry and 2 plain burgers I got my salad and chilli mac supreme but the lettuce was all wilted and tasted funny and tbe chilli mac hardly had any chilli stuff on it, so little that I couldn’t even get half the noodles to be slightly orange and the meat was pretty much non existent very dry and gross most definitely not what this pregnant chick was craving my 3 year old wouldn’t even touch the burger, not that I blame her it looked really dry as well, and I ended up having to mane her some spaghetti Os or Friday night shorebirds night was a bust and a waste of $ 15.I have a breakfast of Salad and chilli mac that I will probably just throw out.

Great location, friendly service, and good food. What more can you ask for? I also liked the changes to the menu… had a hard time choosing what to order!

I’ve worked down the street from this location for nearly a year, and I’d never been until about 2 weeks ago. Never been the biggest Steak N Shake guy, aside from their milkshakes. Anyway, I stopped in and got something I thought would fill me up… triple w/cheese & bacon, fries, and a Hershey’s Dark chocolate shake. Seriously good eats. Burger cooked right, just crispy enough around the edges, and covered in fresh toppings… everything on it, except for mustard & relish. Since it was during their«Happy Hour», my shake was dirt cheap, and my meal total was like $ 7. Good food, at a great price, made after I order it… how can I NOT love them? Since my initial visit, I’ve been back 2 or 3 times, and it’s been consistently good… exactly what I want in a chain burger joint. Add in the friendly staff, and I’m pretty much sold!

The Frisco Melt tasted weird at this location. The meat was dry and had no flavor. They couldn’t even completely cut the sandwich in half correctly. Barely toasted bread. On top of this the sandwich didn’t even come with the fries like other locations include with all sandwiches. I’ll drive to another location in the future.

Steak’N Shake is easy, fast and good. My triple burger ht the spot today… easily more food than that ubiquitous Irish fast food place would give for $ 6.71 with tax — and a refill on the coke. Service was good too.

There are two Steak N Shakes on Lindbergh, off the 55 — one to the left(by the South County mall) and one to the right(this one). Do yourself a favor and go right, even if it is a little farther down Lindbergh. The service is WAY better. Food and shakes have the same yum factor(although the bacon slices did look a bit thinner), plus you won’t be irritated that you had to wait eons for a table or your food.
