Valvoline Instant Oil Change

So I’m new to this whole «instant oil change» thing, which is a crying shame. For car owners, oil changes are inevitable. But when you want to make quick work of it, I’d highly recommend trying the instant route.
Since I had no idea what to expect, I felt a bit silly. Maybe it would help you to be forewarned on the order of events:
1. Pull into the garage, someone will direct you in so that you don’t fall into the deep dark chasm underneath you.
2. Roll down your window, keep your car running.
3. They will ask you to turn on your lights (of course I panicked and turned on the windshield wipers instead, so no worries if you make a mistake, no judgement here). Then they will ask you to press on your brakes and flip the turn signal on both sides.
4. Some point in the near future they will ask you to turn off your car and put your keys on the dash (safety first).
5. Then just sit and wait, eat a sandwich, read a book, check your email, nap. Whatever you want l, while they work their magic on your car. (I say magic because I have no clue what they do for an oil change, that’s still beyond me.)
6. They will ask you a few questions throughout the experience, whether or not you want all the bells and whistles or just the basic oil change. I got just the basics but if you get all the bells, you will most definitely pay for it.
7. My cost was around $ 41-​$ 43 (can’t remember) but I was thrifty while I waited and signed up for a coupon on the Valvoline instant oil change website and got a $ 5 coupon! Whoo! (Here:

8. Pay the man/​woman.
9. You’re done. It’s that easy. It literally took you longer to read this review than it did to get your oil changed.
10. Freedom! For the next several thousand miles at least.

I’m usually leery of quick lube places but I’ve been really impressed with this one. This is the first place I went for an oil change after I moved to Louisville. The guys that work here are not only knowledgeable but are also friendly and take the time to explain things to you without being condescending. They give you recommendations yet do not try to sell you a product or service you don’t need. The best part is the servicing takes place in your presence so you can see the work they’re doing. I highly recommend this lube place.
