The staff there were confused about every part of the operation. How to work with insurance, looking up the medical records given to them, whether or not there was a copay. They kept looking at the wrong persons information and got defensive and blamed being busy on the issues. (There was one other person in the store.) Terrible and confused service all around.

I had a really bad customer service experience the last time I visited this store. However, after voicing my concerns through an email to their corporate office, I was contacted by the territory manager to make things right.
He and I spoke at length, and I now both feel comfortable coming back and continuing to choose to do my business here.
Visionworks has a great team that handled the fumble of customer service well and took full responsibility for their employees actions.

This place is outrageously expensive for the products and service they are selling. They were running a two for one special and we still ended up spending $ 650 for glasses that were ill-​fitting. We’ve been back a couple of times to try to get the fit right but it has never been fixed to our satisfaction.

Went to Vision Work’s at Maplewood mall, Maplewood, and made an appointment for Monday the 6^th of April. .I asked what the price of the exam was and they told me 29 $…When I got there they had 2 add on options one for39 $, and one for 19 $in addition to the original 29 $.I decided not to do the add ons and said, I just wanted the original 29 $ check up. .the sales person told me that the sale was off as of today the 6^th, and the new price is 79 $…I told him I wasn’t happy with that and why didn’t they tell me when they made the appointment. …He said that the best he could do was 49 $.Doesn’t This sound like Bait and Switch to you? ??

Very disappointed to find such non-​helpful staff. I have my prescription already & wanted help finding frames. Young, brown-​haired woman seemed disappointed that I don’t have insurance (I remember when «paying customers» were appreciated. Later I wondered if perhaps insurance pays more?) After I asked a couple of questions, she just pointed me at the wall of frames. Soon another customer came in, and she attended to her. An older woman/​clerk was already with a customer, apparently actually helping her. But when new customer came in (total of 3 customers in store now), she said with an annoyed sigh, «They all come at once.» I tried to search for frames that met my criteria, but then I just left (yes, I did make a passive-​aggressive remark as I departed) when it was apparent that I would get NO HELP. (How can someone who needs glasses be expected to see well enough to choose expensive glasses with no one giving guidance, support, feedback?) Not only will I not only never return to this store, but I will not attempt to patronize ANY Visionworks store.

I was in the twin cities from Chicago for Christmas. I had to spend $ 1200 or lose it from my health savings account so I walked into Visionworks the day after Christmas on a spending spree.
First, Dr. McDermott was super thorough… never had I had all the detailed little things he was doing to my eyes explained… he also explained when I should use brown tinted sunglasses versus grey, etc. etc. Lots of good tips and info that I hadn’t known, such as putting a drop of tear producer (NOT contact solution) into my eye to help break the suction seal on my contact and make them easier to pull out… seems like obvious stuff but I didn’t know it.
When the exam was over, one of the front staff people helped me pick out 5 really great pairs of glasses that I love, get all the details put in the computer and have them shipped off to California for me since I was moving as soon as I got back to Chicago.
My savings, thanks to the specials, was more than $ 1200… half off is not bad at all.
I would highly recommend them. You get a great value for the price and the service is just terrific. Thanks folks.
