Bayview Plaza Waterfront Resort

Great value for the area and very friendly staff. Room had two beds, a decently sized kitchen, with all of the accoutrements one would need. The bathroom and shower was small-​but functional and clean. I liked the waterfront location and that Publix, Chick Fil A, Walgreens etc. were within walking distance of the hotel. It isn’t a fancy resort/​luxury hotel, but a solid value.

I came here for a long beach weekend with my two pups and we all had a blast. Attentive staff from my initial phone call to check out. My waterfront studio was well appointed and immaculate! They are eco friendly and seem to genuinely care about your experience. Rates are very competitive for the area. Only drawback was that there weren’t any coffee makers in rooms. They offer it across the street but didn’t feel like going upon waking up. Regardless, I didn’t want to leave and am looking forward to my next stay there.

Very friendly staff! Called in and got a better rate than advertised online. Room is clean and spacious enough for the two of us. We were surprised that the room had a microwave and mini fridge. A small happy hour is from 4 – 5.

We stayed just one night and had a very good experience. The hotel is small and across the street from the beach, but is part of a 3-​hotel resort, one of which, The Plaza Beach Hotel has a beach and a pool that is open to guests of all three. Free chairs on the beach – nice. Good bed, and very quiet despite being on the ground floor and near the road. No breakfast, but good options nearby. Free coffee in the am. We left passports in the hotel safe which the management recovered and forwarded to us when we realized they were missing. Very nice and courteous staff. If you get a price online, call them and they will beat it.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the room was. Had a full kitchen, and they have gone out if their way to be Eco-​friendly. Bed was a little tough, pillows a little flat but everything was clean and felt new. Had to go a little out of the way to check in… But there is free beer/​wine 4 – 5, and free coffee in the morning. Pool is clean and clear. Don’t let the outside fool you, this was a lovely stay for us who are used to 5 star resorts. We’d stay again, especially for the price.

My boyfriend and I got many recommendation to check out St. Pete’s Beach and he happen to pick this one. We were pleasantly surprised! This was a very nice room with a nice, newer bathroom, a kitchenette, and an outside patio near the water. Also, the room was very clean. What was even better was that this hotel is located right across the street from the beach! We would defintely come back to the Bayview and stay again!

I am here for a five day professional conference up the road — there they pay 3 times as much for sterile rooms while here it is so comfortable,

My husband and I made last minute arrangements to stay for four nights. From the first to last person I spoke with, service was professional and courteous. In addition, our flight was delayed one hour, and I phoned from the airport to let them know we would be late for check-​in (as they are closed after 11:00 p.m.) To my surprise, upon arriving at 11:10 p.m. to pickup our room key in the late arrival box, a staff person was still there and invited me in to register. After a long delay in travel, it was a very welcoming experience. The room was recently renovated and done so very well. Housekeeping did an excellent job of cleaning. The view of the bay was beautiful and the location is so convenient to St Pete Beach, as well as Pass-​A-​Grille and Tierra Verde/​Fort DeSoto. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at a warm and inviting place. It’s sure to make you relax and smile.

We stayed here for the first two nights of a three-​night family wedding weekend because the Grand Plaza hotel (site of the wedding) was insanely expensive for our budget. However, after staying here at the Bayview, I should have just ponied up the extra cash in exchange for a little peace of mind.
When we arrived at the motel, we discovered that we had to check in at the larger Beachview resort, located two blocks north. Dragging our luggage up the road in 95 degree heat after flying all day made us a little cranky. Once in our room, we were greeted by two double beds instead of the king we had requested. Our key did not work in the deadbolt, so the only lock holding the door closed while we were out was the flimsy doorknob one. The air conditioner in the kitchen was on for only a few minutes before it filled the suite with a horrible dead-​animal stench… thank God the larger one in the living room worked well. The bathroom had a corner shower, no tub, but was at least roomy enough to accommodate two adults getting ready at the same time.
I understood going into this experience that this «resort» is an economical alternative to fancy hotels and much better suits the needs of families and couples staying in the area for extended lengths of time, hence the full kitchen and such. However, a hotel-​motel still has its «things» that make it just that, like housekeeping services and the not-​that-​inexpensive rates. The constant Mother-​like nagging signs posted throughout the suite are uncalled for…“don’t wipe your makeup off with the washcloths”…“replace the remote control on this laminated paper or you will be charged a lost remote fee”… they seemed demeaning and unnecessary. We aren’t the type to abuse our stays in hotels, and although such creatures exist in the world, there is no need to insult those that don’t trash a hotel room during their visit. just hammer the animals with an additional cleaning fee as expected in any other hotel. additionally, they advertise free wifi but it turns out that its only available at the «big» resort where we had to check in… the other two sister resorts have no service.
If you’re in the area for only a few days, work some overtime or share the hotel bill with friends so you can stay in something much nicer than this place.

When ever we go to the beach, we always look for family owned hotels to stay at as they really give you a feel like your staying at home. This hotel was no different, as the room had a full kitchen, pull out sofa sleeper, plenty of room to rome, and a very friendly staff. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a home away from a home! Enjoy your stay, we surely did, cheers

This has the feeling of a small Inn. Rooms vary in size. Our room was suite with living room area, dining area, microwave, full size refrigerator with ice, full sink and separate bedroom with queen bed. Bedroom was small but functional. Large flat screen TV in the living room area. All tile floors through out. Nicely decorated. Green hotel with shower/​tub and liquid soaps and shampoo dispensers. Room over looked canal. There is a large community dock and a small swimming pool on the water side of the motel. It is in walking distance of the beech and several restaurants. There is an easement directly across the street to what we found to be one of the areas better beaches. It is not a 5 star Ritz. It is a remodeled older facility up fit on par with a Hampton Inn so while I gave it a 4 for effort some may say it should be a 3. It was freshly decorated, clean, comfortable and convenient and permitted our dog. St Pete also has an excellent dog beach and dog park at Desoto Beach but we found no other areas that permitted dogs on the beach. Staff was cordial and accomodating.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bay Palms which is one of the three hotels that are part of the Bayview Plaza Resorts. We stayed in room 216 which was the two bedroom two bathroom apartment style room. The living room area and one of the bedrooms has a large window with a view of the boca ciega bay/​intercoastal waterway. Beach access is a very close walk less than a block away across the street and there is a traffic light to cross safely.
We didn’t see any dolphins or manatees but lots of birds and fish. There’s dishes and silverware in the room and lots of room to spread out. Management fixed some of the little things we noticed after our stay like a loose faucet and toilet paper holder attachments. As well as plastic wrap left on the lamps made it look like they rushed to get the room remodeled. But after asking the management, they said the mother likes to leave the plastic on because it looks and keeps it new. I was surprised that they didn’t vacuum everyday with all the sand that you bring in. They are an environmentally conscious hotel and don’t replace your sheets and towels everyday unless you ask. Which saves water and energy.
The only draw backs were a few obnoxious, drunk guests (not spring breakers) and cigarette smoke from guests.
Overall we liked the bay palms and it’s kitchy boutique feel. It was nice to be a guest at all of the hotels and be able to use the parking lots of the other hotels because parking at bay palms is close to the street and you have to back into traffic to get out. Also beach access from the other hotel was nice to be able to use their restroom and clean sand off your beachy feet.
