Great food and excellent service. You have to try the desert baklava. It’s amazing. …

Sunday breakfast here was solid. I wish we were able to go for the dinner menu; I love Greek food! The breakfast menu is standard fare. We got an omelet, grits, biscuits & gravy, and lox on a bagel. Nothing special, just good and hearty breakfast food. Our server was so nice and patient. It’s also a great location, walking distance from so many things!

They have a great menu with a huge selection of choices. If you bring a large party here everyone will be able to find something that meets their taste. The wait staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I love their rice pudding.

First time at St Petes Beach. Unilocaled local restaurants and Skidders was on top of the ranks. Expectations, set. Ordered a large Greek salad and the grilled octopus. When the salad showed up, it was a sight to behold… literally the prettiest salad thats ever been put in front of me.(See Pic) The locally sourced tomatoes, the generous slabs of feta and the care taken in its fabrication showed the chef’s attention to detail. Best Greek salad Ive ever had! Then the octopus appeared. Two nice pieces, grilled and seasoned to simple perfection. Ive never had octopus so tender. As a novice home cook, i know how difficult that is to do. It was so good, I ordered another octopus as my dessert. My sweet tooth was over ridden. Its our first night on St Petes Beach and I have a feeling we will visit a few more times, in our four night stay. Peter is an awesome host! Wait staff were friendly and professional.

They never fail. Always a good meal no matter what time of day. Love this place. It is my go to place when you don’t know what you want or what you want to do. Food is always good and I love the waitress’ accents. Buckwheat pancakes! Gyro! Chicken Franchise! Never had the pizza but it sure looks good and a lot of people order it.

Okay. The portion sizes are big, the food quality is so-so. Anything crab stuffed is stuffed with imitation crab meat– a big disappointment. The accompanying broccoli was a bit on the soggy side and the baked potato was pretty standard. Good Greek style bread. The broth that the mussels appetizer came in was the highlight of the meal. Greek pastry deserts were average. Service was alright– very busy and they seemed a bit understaffed for the number of tables, but those working were friendly and really busting around. We had a couple of issues with food temp, etcetera, both issues handled swiftly and well, quickly making them non issues.

After being a long time Skidders customer, I must admit that Skidders is the perfect example of how even good food is not worth the frustration of TERRIBLE service. I keep thinking it’s going to get better, but each of my last five visits has only seen the service go more and more downhill. I’m done being frustrated… I’m done with Skidders.

I [heart] Skidder’s so much so that I dream about dining on their patio. I have been known to leave Naples early enough to have breakfast here and still make it to my work commitments in Tampa with time to spare. Where do I start? Ahh… yes, the Greek salad. I eat a lot of Greek salads around this beautiful country and have only found one that even comes close to the absolute pleasure of Skidder’s version. The giant hunk of feta will never be wrong. This dressing is oily, not creamy and delightfully tangy packed with with flavor. I ask for extra to dip my bread. Spanikopita was better when it was little packets of cheese filled heaven. My most recent(Sept ’15) visit produced a slice cut from a pan. Still good but there is something exciting about breaking into a pair of crispy filo gifts that I missed. The huevos ranchero must be made of rainbows and unicorns because there is no other like it. I like lots of ranchero sauce. The grouper sandwich has been a staple menu choice for my family for more than 20 years. I cannot forget the fresh squeezed OJ or saganaki, mmm good. Many visits to St. Pete begin with a visit to Skidder’s straight from the airport and more frequently than not it is the last stop before heading home. For us, St. Pete is Skidder’s and Skidder’s is St. Pete.

Let me start off by saying we went on Christmas Day so we waited a while to be seated then waited more for our food. With that being said, when we finally did get our food, it was amazing! Well worth the wait. I regret not getting our waitress’s name but she had blonde hair and an accent and besides being super busy she was very kind and amicable. Definitely a restaurant I would come back to !

Very«classic», no-frills atmosphere, but welcoming. Menu was very reasonably priced and extensive. Best part was the gluten-free friendliness of the entire menu. In fact, we were even given fresh baked gluten free bread(from Craft Café) at the start of the meal instead the traditional dinner roll! Food was delicious and portions were generous. Our server was fantastic and attentive. Peter(manager and/or owner) came over during the meal and introduced himself. After the meal he brought over complimentary shots of Ouzo. Great guy and made the experience that much better. I’ll definitely be back soon!

We had an A-OK breakfast here last weekend. My fiancé and I stopped in for breakfast and they were packed. Even though they were crowded, we were able to get seated within ten minutes. The seats are very close to each other and there’s not much breathing room in there. We both started with a «fresh squeezed» OJ(which was anything but) and were disappointed that it appeared to be from a carton or concentrate. I ordered the huevos rancheros and it wasn’t like any I’ve ever had — it was served over a hard corn tortilla; I’m used to the soft ones. It was a little difficult to eat that way. The eggs were cooked a perfect over medium as requested. The avocado slices still had the rind on them so it was difficult to have to peel the avocado before putting it on top of my meal. My fiancé ordered the chicken fried steak and enjoyed it. While the meal wasn’t necessarily bad, it just didn’t wow us like we expected after reading other positive reviews. I’d come back and give the lunch or dinner a try, but I’d go elsewhere for a beach breakfast.

Everything was very good. My wife and I split a small pizza which was very good. For an app we had Saganaki, fried goat cheese, done tableside. Table next to us are raving about the grouper sandwich. I’ll try it later in the week and update my review

Initially when we came in I was a little worried as I have a dairy allergy and unfortunately am one of those«complicated orders.» I knew I really wanted veal and tried to order but it needed some changes. The manager Pete came to our table, sat down and spent time trying to come up with something that would meet what I was looking for and my needs. Pete made an awesome veal dish that was not on the menu and ensured my happiness with the dish. Pete also ensure my mother and brother’s needs were met when they ordered. I had veal with a salad. The salad we all agreed was amazing and soooo fresh! My brother loved the chicken Marsala and my mother had the eggplant parmisigna. She loved the sauce. Great service, it was nice to have someone spend time to create a dish to meet someone’s needs with an allergy. Hard to find these days.

Absolutely the worst dining experience in several years! 4 adults, two children, ½ full restraunt, everyone had sandwiches, except one Greek salad and one order of chicken alfredo. Almost one hour after ordering, the soup that came with the salad showed. Seems Kitchen forgot to turn burner on but STILL served soup. Cold, of course(actually, after 1 hour, almost room temperature)… Rest of food followed shortly thereafter(After we complained). Four waitresses, ours hustled and took care of ¾ of establishment. She was very frustrated with kitchen. Everyone had food arrive except the Chicken Alfredo, which came 10 minutes later… as Shrimp Alfredo. Sent it back, Manager apologised, 5 minutes later Alfredo came out with Chicken Alfredo THATSTILLHADSOME Shrimp in it. They had obviously just tried pulling the shrimp out and missed some before adding chicken strips!!! To top it off, it was too bland. Obviously the most grocery store-like Alfredo we all had ever tasted. Back it went. By this time our adult companion asked for chicken tenders and fries to take back to our hotel room. 20 minutes go by, rest of group went to car as my wife and I waited for the food. Check came and we were charged for EVERYTHiNG, including cold soup AND Alfredo + Tenders! Then, honest to god, it turned out the kitchen help, who seemed to be having quite the good time in the back forgot to put the Tenders order in the fryer. Manager jumps into the kitchen and tried to remedy the situation, but I started yelling about incompetence and how I wanted my damn +/$;₹%₹ $$$ back!!! We were and hour and a half into what was to be a quick lunch. He hesitated just enough so the entire restraunt was then let in on our«secret». He then went to the register and pulled $ 15 out and literally flung it at me! Never again, folks, never again.

Came here for dinner after a fun night out on the beach. Other dishes are well-covered here, so I’m just going to implore you that you get the saganaki. Sounds Japanese, but it turns out to be Greek fried cheese. It’s a cheese I can’t pronounce fried in a little lemon juice. It’s fricking amazing. Sounds weird. Is delicious.

We first came to Skidder’s when they opened and our kids were little. The kids could always find something that they liked and the prices were reasonable. I think that Skidder’s still fills that niche. More recently, we went here for breakfast because we didn’t want to eat at the restaurants at our hotel. Our food was good and service was fast and friendly and two adult breakfasts with coffee cost $ 23.

Happy accident. Was walking down Gulf Street to. someplace else. Got there. 15-minute wait. Not worth it. Back to Skidders. And glad! My companion(grad-school buddy: we’re here at a conference) and I ordered the exact same thing: the night’s fish special, a whole snapper. Expertly cooked. Filleted at tableside by 2 teams of 2, which was sorta fun. Lovely herbed butter. Clean, straightforward flavors, but that’s really hard to pull off. There’s no place to hide, no complicated sauces to cover your tracks. Same story with my starter. They called it mussel soup, but it was mussels in a spicy tomato sauce. Again, clean flavors. Expertly cooked(the difference, with mussels, between raw and overcooked is a matter of seconds). Excellent prices anywhere, so especially for a beach town. The diner look and feel is great and the spot’s high on my list for next year and beyond.
