Astra Pizza

My boyfriend and I just love the pizza from Astra… I always say, when you even eat the crust it doesn’t get any better than that! a great meal and a great value and more, even more…

I love this place! My boyfriend and mine’s favorite pizza place and with such reasonable prices. We’d much rather go here for a great pizza at a fair price than order delivery just to get mediocre pizza that costs far too much. Great service and delicious food!

5* pizza, 3* wings. After seeing the Unilocal reviews for the meat lover’s pizza we knew we needed to try it.
In a word: perfect.
If you like thin crust pizza and miss the taste of New York, you need this in your life.
Unfortunately, the wings did not dazzle the way the pizza did. While passable, I doubt we will order them again. They are too dry and they are just tossed in sauce after they are cooked, which means the flavor – while tasty – is fairly weak.
Will definitely eat pizza from here again. Next time, I can’t wait to try the Sicilian (thick crust pizza)!

This is the place I go when I want to experience the closest thing to real, fold-​over, NY style pizza that can be found in the area. Basic but very, very solid in its quality. Crust has a nice chew and always features a few of those coveted «bubbles» (you NY slice eaters know what I mean!) the pie is sauced the right amount, and the cheese is tasty and plentiful. Plus the owner is simply the nicest guy — he will brighten your day in the five minute span it takes to pick up, pay, and walk out with a fresh, hot pie. Good value for the extra large size, too.

We ordered the Margherita pizza, veggie lovers and the meat lovers. I loved the veggie pizza the most, and the meat lovers was good… However there was a good amount of grease on the top that we had to soak up before we could enjoy the meat slices. The Margherita was delicious also, and even great the next day reheated in the oven. Overall it was a wonderful pizza experience and we will definitely order again.

This place is great, my family and I love the meat lovers pizza; we order it just about every other week. Carlos the owner is super friendly and my wife and I by name. Not only is the food great, but the customer service is top-​notch. I highly recommend this place.

I picked up pizza on the way home and OMG was I surprised how good it was. The sauce was awesome and plenty of cheese which is always good. My kids loved it and now that is where they want their pizza from. I like it so much I called the owner to tell him. If the pizza was that good I bet the Chicken Wings, Calzone’s and and Gyro’s will be too. Check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

If your from NY and miss a true NY pizza look no further. From the crust to the sauce its authentic. They even know how to make a proper white with ricotta and not feta like most places around here.

Pepperoni pizza — just so so. Crust was a little too chewy for my taste, cheese was average as well as the pepperoni. Not bad pizza at all — just not that great. Kind of disappointing — like the Slovenian women’s performance in curling. You expected so much more.

The pizza is very tasty, has that NY/​Bos style to it. The owner is from Jersey and is a real nice guy. He always greets you with a big smile which makes you feel welcome. If you get a pizza here you will like it. But here’s a few issues I have that resulted in a 3 star rating. Skimps on the toppings. A pepper costs about .50. Slice one up in your kitchen the super thin way the restaurants do. You’ll be amazed at how much you have. At $ 1.25−50 a topping a typical pepper will generate around 10 pizzas. This is purely a guess, but I think I’m close. Nice profit eh? Can you please put a few more skinny little pepper slices on the pizza? I have to admit this is a problem with a lot of places, it just happens Astra is my latest purchase. I can’t say I’m being totally fair to them. My second issue is Astra is a small, low overhead takeout business. I expect a place like this to be a buck or 2 cheaper than the norm. Alas, they’re not. $ 18 for an X-​large 2 topping. I’m keeping them on my list. I support independently owned places and hopefully on my next visit the cheese will be a little harder to see.

I had a slice here the other day & liked it, so decided to order a pie for dinner. Was told a 20″ pie is $ 15 + $ 2.25 topping. Somehow, that came to $ 19.25 w/​tax. OK, fine. NOW, how does a 20″ pizza fit in an 18″ box? It wasn’t wrapped up the edges & the lid not closing. It fit perfectly. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. You sell an 18″ pizza for $ 13 & that is exactly what you sold me for $ 15. You shouldn’t screw over a 1^st time customer that loves good pizza & you are on my way home. BUYER BEWARE.

Freaking awesome! We love pizza, and this place does it right. I don’t really like margherita pizza, but these guys made it so good that I will be ordering it again. We are already planning a return visit!

Now that I’ve tried Astra Pizza, I won’t go anyplace else. It’s a real white pizza! The veggie has so much garlic, it almost burns your mouth. LOVE IT!

Not only is this the best pizza I have found in the Bay Area, the owners are warm and welcoming. They make these pizzas themselves with only the freshest, tastiest ingredients. The crust is just the right thinness/​thickness and has the perfect crunch. They have a large selection of toppings including meatballs! How can it get better? They deliver!

My boyfriend just moved into the Lake Euclid neighborhood, and we finally had the chance to check out this tiny gem, and holy cow! am I glad we did… This is by far the BEST PIZZA in town. Maybe in Florida. Perfect, perfect, perfect pie! My guy also stopped by for a cheese steak and now wants to try every single thing on the menu. Carlos, the owner, is an oldschool pizza maker, and you can tell by how awesome it is. Highly recommend, and I believe they deliver pretty far!
