We went there to eat on Father’s day as we were waiting on a table we saw a dog inside the restaurant in a baby stroller and the customer was feeding the dog from a restaurant plate. That gross to me. I’m not eating from the same plate as a dog. So we took our names off the waiting list and left.

Great for New England seafood lovers! Very attentive staff, cold Coronas! Odd location though, it has the feel of being on or close to the water, this place is very much in land. Only downside, smoking allowed outside although no one was when we dined, not interested in the flavor of dirt, tar, ash with my clam strips so take that into consideration.

They offer all you can eat crab legs and that was what we were looking for, well my daughter was. I didn’t have much of an appetite that day, so I just ordered shrimp tacos. Even though the order came with only two tacos, they were biggest shrimp tacos that I’ve ever had. My daughter said that the crab legs were some of the worst that she’s ever had. The weird thing was the atmosphere. As we sat there, waiting on our food, we heard the dining room music and another source of music. It was almost ear piercing to hear two different sources of music at once, so we asked the waitress where the other source was coming from and she said that the cook likes to have his own music going. Wow… at least turn it down to where the PAYINGCUSTOMERS can’t hear it. You would think that after we mentioned it and it was obviously annoying, that they’d turn it down. No, that didn’t happen. We actually got up and moved to the outside area. Seriously, if a cook is that inconsiderate, it makes you wonder how his food handling consideration is.

Came here tonight and it has a diner atmosphere. I got the crab cakes with onion rings, rice, and a salad. We also ordered fish dip. It was good but not great. Service was fine. I’d give it another shot but try something else on the menu.

My god this place is horrible! When trips diner was too packed for breakfast I opted for here. I should of just waited for a table at trips. I sat outside(mistake number one as its a smoking area) amd ordered a vodka grapefruit. The waitress walked off and I waited and waited and waited. After she walked by me numerous times without saying a word she finally came to tell me they don’t have grapefruit juice. Ok pineapple it is. and I finally get a drink. The man to my righr ordered a bloody Mary and 10 minutes later she set it down behind the bar and walked away. He had to reach over the bar to get it. She finally takes my order off eggs over easy.bacon.toast and it comes out very quickly. Obviously not brought out be the same slug. The eggs were disgustingly raw… as in not even safe to eat these runny whites. The bacon is half byrnt. half chewy fat and the toast apparently never saw the toaster. The home fries tasted fishy as well. Please see the picture for a real view of this nastiness. I would of sent it back if the waitress wasn’t MIA the whole time. So I ate some cold in toasted bread. .nibbled sat the bacon and left after my drink. I had no idea my 2nd visit could be worse than my first but somehow they managed to do so. Oh and let’s not forget to mention the obviously regular bar crowd was already there at 9am. They should be embarrassed

Again, another great place that I just simply forget about and drive by since it’s right down the block. Good no great good, price is in line, service always friendly. You can’t really miss. Always something on the menu from simple fish and chips to more exotic fare. To be honest, the sandwiches –I mean pastrami and hamburgers-are fantastic as is the daily specials. I love the gumbo here too. Hush puppies-pretty darn good, although I would give a small fortune for one of the old-style Georgia Boy hushpuppies-the type of my Gulf coast youth. A lost art. Kind of like when I describe my grandmother’s cooking-I just get this look in my eyes and kind of drift off… you had to be there. I can’t put these things into words! I guess living 8 blocks away I sort of forget this place. my mistake. Great place, and a fun outside bar at happy hour and later into the evening.

All you can eat crabs. This means for $ 30 you can eat all the crabs you want. Like you could eat so much crabs that you can eradicate the population of crabs in the ocean. I wonder what the effects of all you can eat crab legs are to the population of alaskan king crabs?

This was my first time here and I will definitely return. The lobster soup had large chunks of lobster in it, and the crab legs were amazing. This place doesn’t skimp on the seafood at all! My husband got the mixed seafood pasta and the portion was huge with lots of scallops and lobster chunks.

We came to the Casual Clam searching for all you can eat crab legs for lunch. The special includes two sides which impressed me. I got potato salad and hush puppies and ate them both entirely with all the crab I wanted so that says a lot about how good it was. My first batch of crab was amazing. Super fresh!!! The following refill batch were older and tough. I was extremely pleased how well the crab came out of the shell bc there is nothing worse than crab that isn’t steamed well and sticks to the sides.

A perfect little dive. This place is definitely a place designed for us. A great lil beach diner but not on top of the beach. The menu is packed with so many choices it will Make your head spin. We started with the fish dip and some grilled crab cakes. The portions I’ll tell you are above average so consider that before over ordering. The appetizer crab cakes are larger than most restaurants serve as a dinner. It would be nice to have some dipping sauce options for them though. Cocktail or tarter are overpowering for crab cakes. Maybe a lemon, dill, or even sweet like a Thai sweet chili or a dipping sauce with a pineapple base. The fish dip was smooth but a bit on the bland side. Maybe some old bay or salt and pepper added? Now my beautiful wife ordered the catfish basket and the portion was huge. What’s more is the batter had corn meal in it for that extra crispy touch. It was delicious. I opted for the lobster roll and you couldn’t stuff another piece of lobster on that lightly toasted bun if you tried. It was a large portion of large chunk and claw lobster meat with light mayo and small celery pieces only. Things like this are better when kept simple. The atmosphere is light and relaxed, clean and neatly decorated in marine life fare. A nice stop, a nice meal, and a place definitely worth retuning too.

This place is a diamond in the rough. We live very close to this restaurant and drive by it all the time. We finally went for breakfast and we were impressed. This seems like a REAL seafood spot. We will be back to try the lunch and dinner menu. If your looking for a great Saturday or Sunday breakfast spot this place is great.

Stopped in on a Saturday night at about 9pm for a late dinner with a friend. Super casual atmosphere and seemed to be a spot for a lot of locals. The food was good, portion sizes were huge and every thing was moderately priced. My friends ordered all you could eat snow crab(very good) but at 10pm(closing time) they turned off all tvs and started sweeping, putting chairs on tables & brought us our bill. You could tell the waitress was really annoyed we were still eating our food and we basically felt pushed out. I get they closed at 10pm but we were still paying customers just finishing our meals up and not asking for anymore. Go if you want good food and a super casual atmosphere but don’t expect the best service in the world.

Came in on a Friday night. Parking is tricky but no real issue. Place wasn’t packed but busy. I was alone so I sat at the bar. Bartender was super nice and attentive. Took my order promptly. Chowder came first. Very good. Lots of clams and potatoes with celery, etc as it should be. Really good flavor. Needed no additional seasoning. I then got my entrée. I’d ordered the clam dinner with broccoli and fries. The fries were good. Not great. The broccoli was cooked just right, fresh, and delicious. The clams were good. I’m from New England and love clams so I’m pretty picky. They were fresh and the batter was good. They were just a touch underdone. Didn’t stop me from enjoying them thoroughly. Oh, and by the way, you will not leave hungry. Holy lot of food. Was a bit spendy but worth it. I’d come back.

Had dinner with friends… probably the best seafood we have had lately, with an emphasis on New England imports… steamers, full-bellied, fried, in stew, etc. Also had the best smoked mullet since I was in N Florida. Very richly smoked, large whole fish, almost charred exterior but soft and moist inside, making it easy to «carve» and consume. Others enjoyed the clam basket… side of slaw and potato salad were fine and a key lime pie dessert was the perfect meal topper. Nice selection of low-priced beers and overall cost very reasonable. Those in Pinellas need to give it a try… only caution is scarce parking but street parking is available on 10th st.

First time I came here I loved it! Recommended to me by a coworker, and I was not let down. Came again yesterday because it was Friday and we’re in Lent, so I couldn’t eat meat. I got the Shrimp Po Boy with fries and hush puppies. The Po Boy didn’t have any sauce on the bread which was a let down, but she shrimps were fried to perfection. I ended up leaving the bread and dipping my shrimp in the tartar sauce. The fries we’re undercooked and just blah. The hush puppies were good. It was a nice portion for $ 2. Next time I’ll try something different and ask them to make the fries crunchy.

Stopped in here with some people for a quick lunch. Someone had suggested this place and they had some decent Unilocal reviews, so we figured we would give it a try. Unfortunately, FL was getting blessed with some torrential downpours that day so we had to sit inside. Very mom and pop-like diner feel inside with a laid back atmosphere. The service was quick and friendly. The three of us started off with their New England Clam chowder which was very good. Our other friend went with their Clambo, which is a mix of gumbo and clam chowder. As for our entrees, we were all a little disappointed. I ordered the special that day which was their grouper fish and chips. There’s a lot of food that comes with it — a good amount of fish, side of fries, cole slaw and a corn muffin. The fish didn’t really taste like grouper at all, tasted and looked more like frozen fish.

Hands down best little mom and pop style breakfast in St Petersburg. Biscuits and gravy was top 2or 3 I’ve ever had. Portions were huge. Free bloody Marys on Sunday with breakfast

Tonight we went to the Casual Clam. It was. Everything you could want in a diver seafood restaurant. The food was great and the wait staff was. Very good. Three of us got the all you can eat crab legs. They were awesome. Good meaty crabs. There was no need to put them in butter they tasted great just out of the steamer. The waitress brought the refills at the right moment to make sure we were eating hot crab. Another one of us got the crab cakes that were good and so big she has one left for lunch tomorrow. The last of us had fish and chips that were good. This was my first time here but not the last. I might call it regular clam instead of casual clam!
