Great place for meth heads security sucks here and staff is probably the worst in hospitality I have ever seen !!!
The pool is nice when they clean it after the hair ass people are in it definitely not the safest place in Saint Petersburg for the gay community…
The Saint Petersburg police need to raid this place and shut it down

There is a new management team and changes happening. Added activities and huge improvement to rooms started and music is 100 percent. Great new shows and energy will shine the place up.

Don’t stay here went tonight 1÷11÷16 and the rooms are way to much money in fact all the motels in the entire area are way over priced. Went tonight cause there website says that the code bar is open on Monday nights from 9pm until 3am went there all the way from st Augustine FL just to find I was the only one there in the entire place that includes the motel the place was a graveyard. Whoever promotes this place should loose there job very sad indeed

Sunday afternoons here are fun, but they have a wedding DJ here. No exaggeration. We Are Family, Celebrate, Boogie Wonderland, Michael Jackson stuff, Whitney Houston, It’s A Woman’s World; stuff you’d here at any wedding reception. Is this guy straight? Can’t they do any better than this guy?

THIS PLACE DOESN’T DESERVE 1 STAR, stayed here very dirty renovated room, major ant problem room had MAJOR urine smell, front desk said sorry. Had a drink outside of the room sitting on a chair was told to dump the drink you have to purchase the drinks from the bar only. They said the room was remodeled well remove the carpet and wipe down the bathroom with urine doesn’t work for me. The beds had one sheet that was stretched to cover the bed, take off the sheet it’s half the size of the bed also blood stained sheets. The next day the cleaning women wouldn’t make the beds or clean she said it’s fine we don’t make the beds unless you stay more than 3 days. The code bar is so dirty urine all over that bathroom floor one toilet so people pee in the corners. Very smokey exhaust fan doesn’t work.
Don’t eat the food, I tried it one time just visiting on Sunday T-​dance ordered wings didn’t realize they can kill the wings they cut them in half and served each half as one so 12 wings were 6 wings cut in half. SHOCKING.
I tried the food again when I rented a room myself also 3 other friends were sick we did use the nasty stench of the urine filled room to help vomit the food.

The Flamingo Resort took over a dilapidated hotel and the neighborhood has been very appreciative. What the residents are not appreciative about are the events and Sunday parties held outside. The parties use outdoor amplified speakers which can be head by apartments and condo and boats at the marina adjacent to the pool area.
Flamingo Resort is zoned for a business adjacent to a neighborhood. This used to be a quiet neighborhood until the pool party’s volume infringed on residents. This area on this side of South St. Petersburg has not been a loud dance club or outdoor bar scene like downtown.
Repeated attempts to work them have failed. The police and community liaison officer were involved. City Council was told and the Council Member had spoke to them. The Mayor’s office is aware. After two years of complaints logged and over a year working with police, the residents have given up. The process is broke and the Mayor and Police Chief need to fix this.
The LGBT community is being made aware of the issue. If you do attend an outdoor event at the pool where the music is cranking, please ask the management if this impacts the neighborhood. Ask them to turn it down.
Ask yourself, how would you react if a dance club moved close to you and blasted music and made money while your weekend and Sundays are ruined.

I’ve been to the Flamingo a couple of times for a couple of nights of drinks with friends, but this was the first time I’ve stayed overnight in a guest room. We made the reservation online direct from the Flamingo’s website for 2 double beds (we had 3 total guests). When we checked in, we initially were given a room with a single king bed. When I pointed out the error to the front desk, he recommended to never use the online booking system because there’s no way for them to see which room you reserved… even though I was charged for a more expensive room. He also gave us an «updated» room… The only update was that the carpet was removed. Every other dirty old item and furnishing remained. The room reeked of urine. One huge dead roach behind the toilet and we caught one live roach by the dresser. We decided to forgo showers the next morning due to the state of the tub and shower. Two days after we get back home (⁶⁄₉) the facility is now «temporarily closed» due to 21 health code violations! (Check the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation).
Fun place to stop by for a drink, but I will never eat or sleep there again.

I have been a patron of the Flamingo since it opened. There is a room remodel going on right now and many of the rooms have been redone. I agree the unfinished rooms are not the cleanest but they are working on it. If you do stay overnight, ask for a newly remodeled rooms and to see it first. The facility itself is great. There is a huge pool in a large outdoor social area. A large outdoor bar and several indoor bars. The indoor bars are open at night. There is a clothing and leather shop and a jewelry/​art gallery. I noticed a barber shop is coming which I will be checking out. There is also a suite with access to health care questions. They serve food which is actually very good. The bartenders are very friendly, work hard, and make great drinks. The drinks are priced very fairly. It can be slow at times. The best times to go are Sunday tea dance and special events. They also provide a variety of shows, bingo, and casino nights.
My big suggestion is to have the staff stand out more so we know who to go to for assistance. They need to be seen. May I suggest pink polo shirts with the Flamingo image. We went to the outdoor café several times and had difficulty trying to figure out who worked there. Management, maybe you should also look a bit more professional and not hanging out with your buddies. There also needs to be pool service at peak times. Only the bartenders should be in bright pink bikinis. outstanding customer service is the key. Every employee should «be on stage».
I question some of the one star ratings. Lets get off our apps and stop having sex with cell phones. Get out and meet people in person. Stop queening out and throwing your own under the bus. An establishment like this needs your support to make it what you want it to be.

First, the Flamingo is not, nor advertised as a 4 star resort. With that in mind, I give it 4 out of 5 stars because it lived up to what it says it is; an inexpensive and friendly place to let loose and have fun. Great pool, good bar food, good strong drinks, looooooong happy hours, amazingly friendly and cool staff and overall everything is VERY affordable. Lots of events every day. Sunday was the BEST. I was able too check in early and my room was clean. Bed comfortable and clean. No issues. I will say that if you don’t want the constant party noise till 3 am every night, get an outer room

Located in the seediest part of town, it is no gem or pearl in an oasis … STAY AWAY… I WILL BE CONTACTING HOTELS​.COM. in an attempt to get this listing removed from their data base… you’ve been warned

The rooms were furnished with old dirty furniture. The carpet was dirty and stained. It was truly a shame that a gay hotel could be so filthy and run down.

Be ready after the scheduled 3pm check out. He was rude and didn’t offer any solution except to move me from the room I was scheduled to check into. Everyone else seems to be very nice. The room was old but clean, stains on towels, ac issues and the cable TV was not working. When I called the desk they said they would note the room. What good is that? In closing If you’re looking for a less than average room, or can overlook the filth and disease around you than by all means this is the hotel for you!

DO NOT BOOK OR STAY HERE weather it be one night or as I did an extended 6 month lease. Staying at the Flamingo Resort St Pete has been the biggest error in judgement of my life and has cost me more money then my move here from Canada. When I was planning my relocation from Canada I came across the flamingo and decided I would rent a room there while looking for a job and a place to live. I agreed to pay $ 700.00/month for 6 months. When I arrived I was told it would be $ 886.00/month and an additional $ 200.00 deposit… this includes an extra tourism tax because it is a hotel what they don’t tell you is that if you are a long term guest you get no services ie maid but you still pay the extra tax… also the rent went up $ 100 in the 3 days it took me to drive from Canada. The night I got here my dog Sadie was taken from my room and I have yet to locate her. I initially thought I had maybe left the door open but subsequently and they do not know this yet I had accidently left my webcam on and it recorders the thief stealing my Saide Girl. Do to an error on my banks part involving a Canadian wire my 1^st cheque did not clear, the hotel informed me immediately with as much public fanfare as possible and my branch manager immediately brought them cash to cover the cheque along with her apologies. The Flamingo has subsequently processed that same cheque 4 more times despite the funds being covered in cash that very same day and refuses to accept responsibility for the endless fees it has caused. Even though I am a paying guest in good standing and more in fact and having spent thousands of dollars here at the bars and businesses I am treated, along with many of the other long term guests, like a nuisance at every corner of the hotel by the bitchy and rude staff here. I have been embarrassed publicly many many times in the public areas of the resort by staff and management alike including on evenings where \I have brought several other local people in to spend their money as well. They have threatened to evict me more times then I can count because they don’t like to hear any complaints about stealing money from me and especially don’t like to hear about the deplorable conditions of this filthy hotel. The fiorst room they tried to put me in was flooded with sewage and they said don’t worry it will dry up, the second room that I now live in has endless mystery stains on the rug and I was forced to paint at my own expense because the walls were covered in food and male excretions. The facilities are falling apart and the staff is endlessly rude and bitchy… don’t you dare ask anyone for anything because even if you do get it and that is not likely they will humiliate you until you simply hide in you filthy $ 1000 per month room and hope you can stay out of their way. There will be strange old fat men banging on your windows at all hours of the day and night and god forbid you leave your door open and fall asleep… in your home or rental room… they will come right in and get into your bed… your sleeping and suddenly there is a strange man in your bed… this has happened to me 2x and I can tell you it is traumatic. It will take me years to recover from this experience, I long for my stolen dog and I am new to Florida… I would give anything to have had someone warm me so PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT BOOK HERE AT THE FAMINGO your life will never be the same.

Run don’t walk away from this place. It is the dirtiest most run down place I’ve ever stayed in all my 48 yrs. The sheets, towels, carpet and bath were so filthy I couldn’t even stay. As far as the complex itself it is about 50 years old and looks it and the people including the staff were nothing but low class, no one seemed to know what was going on and I noticed several hustlers hanging around. Bottom line I thought it would be a fun gay place to stay but it was my worst nightmare. Save yourself and go anyhwere else. Once again the nastiest most disgusting gay resort or motel for that matter… don’t wast your time!!!

We booked an overnight room at Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg last Saturday. We had stayed here once before, but it had been a least a couple ago. They have a directly web-​based reservation system and the room rates are quite reasonable ($ 69), but as the old adage goes «you get what you pay for», and boy does that apply here!
As requested, we were issued a king room (#173), it was on the ground floor facing away from the pool. Unfortunately this room was nothing short of disgusting and let me tell you why: The stale musty smell hit you in the face the moment the door opened. The carpet, which had to be 10+ years old, was so totally stained and horrifically filthy that it was difficult to determine what color it once was; clearly it hadn’t been cleaned or even swept in quite some time. We happened to have a can of Lysol spray in our car and although we emptied it into the room, the smell was just too much for it to overcome. The toilet paper was on the floor since the bathroom didn’t have a function dispenser and the two bath towels were extremely thin, they felt like shop towels! We put our bags on the bed and walked to the pool bar for a drink and while we sat there we were able to watch the cleaning folks «clean» 4 rooms within a short distance of our table. What we found interesting (but not surprising) was that they didn’t have a sweeper or broom on their cart.
Completely disenchanted at this point, we walked back to our pre-​paid room only to watch a couple cockroaches scramble when we walked in. That was it! we packed our bags and made a reservation down the road, happily paying $ 25 than we had paid to stay here. We did stop at the front desk to let them know why we wouldn’t/couldn’t stay as planned, and the gal behind the desk said, «thank you so much» — she couldn’t of care less.
Flamingo it is what it is, which from a lodging standpoint isn’t much. Enjoy the night life it offers but we strongly recommend spending a couple bucks more to stay elsewhere.

I got my bill for staying here and was charged 100.00 for smoking fee and I am not a smoker. I called hotel and was told a manager would get back to me. Nobody has ever got back to me. I complained several times about the odor in room while I was there and an employee came. And sprayed the AC filter with febreeze. Rooms need to be cleaned and remodeled.

Unless you want a dirty, 1970s hotel room with cruisers do not book here! My boyfriend and I booked a room for one night just to get away. But I was hit on for just ordering drinks, the check-​in person was short and rude, and on top of all that, my boyfriend claims someone even entered our hotel room with a key at 2am. We also went out to a bar and came back with the door open with a security lock to prevent it from being shut. I know I shut the door before I left. Do not room here– even if you’re gay! This place is a whores haven not a hotel.

A great place to drink and party, then crash in a comfortable and affordable room without having to drive. I have been going to the Flamingo since they opened almost five years ago. While they have had their ups and downs, this place is heading up to be the best GLBT Resort in Mainland Florida. The owners are responsive to their customers desires and know how to throw a party! New Years Weekend is always a blast and last weekend they hosted Bear Soup; a party for large furry Men and their admirers. I stayed for three nights and had a blast. Three star accomodations, but five star bars, clubs and events. If you want peace and quiet, stay in an outside room. If you are looking to cruise and party, the poolside rooms are best. Speaking of the pool, it is the centerpiece of the resort, is sparkling clean and beautifully landscaped. With five bars and three clubs, if you can’t find fun here, then stay home. But if you like to party and play with locals and tourists, you will have a great time at the Flamingo. GLBT oriented, but straight friendly, the Flamingo can be naughty, but is always a nice place to visit.

There could not possibly a more fun hotel/​resort than the flamingo. Chill out by the pool go bar hopping at one of the seven bars, eat at the restaurant and book a room because you are gonna want tonstay the weekend. Find terry, he can be very entertaining :)

Should you want to dance, Flamingo has that. I spent quite a bit of time in the dance area Doing the Wobble till my thighs burned. There were a little too many techno/​dubstep versions of songs for me, but manageable.
Should you want to drink, that’s an option. There are some hot and friendly bartenders (like Terry!) serving up some drinks to quench the party goers thirst.
Should you want to go for some risqué attractions, that’s a choice. I went in there, but ran out pretty quickly. But if you like dark and small clubs with go go dancers, go for it.
Should you want to eat or had to much fun and need to crash, there’s a restaurant and a resort. I didn’t eat or sleep here, so I can’t speak to the tastiness or cleanliness of the rooms.
Overall, this place is an all-​in-​one ball of fun, but not if you’re into being judgmental.
