You aren’t going to get Ale & Witch type beer selection here, but there’s definitely an interesting variety. But the real main event is…
The freaking movie theater.
This could be used for screenings, improv night, presentations, or whatever you’d like. I took advantage by using the room to showcase a Unilocal presentation to the many business owners of Keep St. Petersburg Local. It was a great night, all in all, but a big part of that was the really great venue.
I had no idea what L-​Train was before, despite spending a lot of time in DTSP. Now… I’m a fan!

Cute little bar with a big personality! Just spent last night here with some friends for a body painting competition. I would not have felt comfortable as a canvas in your run of the mill club because of the usual crowds. People here were interested but respectful and the owner is really sweet.

Like Stephanie W. said, it does seem like a «you gotta know about it through a friend» kinda bar. That being said, it’s the cutest girl bar I’ve seen in St. Pete.
Laura, the owner is very personable, and doesn’t just serve the drinks. She can recommend you something based on your tastes, which is more than can be said for a lot of the larger places. The selection of beer and wine is impressive and range from Chinese and Scottish, to Brazillian. They also carry a couple ciders.
The place is small, but very cozy: a couple couches and a pool table. Perfect for bringing your oversized dinner group to. It’s a place you can be as toasted or sober as you want, and still feel comfortable. Attached is a theater. The theater is a nice place to catch the small plays when they’re there. I’m sure for Pride this place will be filled to capacity. Definitely a place I’ll be going back to repeatedly.
Location-​wise: it faces 1^st. The address says 900 Central, but that’s only because it’s in the same building facing that way. Facing Central is Anytime Fitness. Heading south on MLK/​9^th, the building shows Subway. Heading west on 1^st Ave S (a one way) is L Train. If you park on Central, just walk through the parking lot toward 1^st, and you’ll see the entrance on your left. If there’s parking, just park in the parking lot, and you’re there.

I definitely felt that I had found a little secret alcove for lesbians.
The focus was not on getting drunk but having a good time and hanging out with some girls. It was a really friendly atmosphere and decorated really modern.
The theatre in the back looked really enticing and I definitely want to go back and see what is showing there next time.
Looks like it is worth the drive from South Tampa to check this place out again.

It’s a great little beer only bar with very cheap prices, and a cool little theater with real movie seats! It’s a bit hard to notice from Central Ave, so most people don’t know it’s there. It’s in the same building as Anytime Fitness & Subway, and is in close range to other bars like Fubar, The Bar, Steve’s Tavern, The Bar, Local 626, so it’s a great place to escape to. It’s also close enough to the Trop to walk to when your’re going to a Ray’s game. It’s a straight friendly bar which seems to be half the customers (the sign even has an S on it for straight people!). The owner hosts local film makers movies in the theater, so it’s great to pop in and see some locally made films while having a few beers!
