Dr. Loren Miller is FANTASTIC! I cannot express enough how comfortable I was in his office. Of course I felt my feet were the worst he has ever seen and he was very reassuring, super laid back and very positive! His staff is very cheerful and efficient. My bunion removal looks beautiful and he was very thorough, patient and kind. I couldn’t of asked for better service. Thank you.

Don’t let the five star ratings in pressure you with Dr Lauren Miller.
My first visit with dr. Lauren Miller he suggested that I go on the internet and give him a rating. My first visit was I was quite impressed with the services. My next three visits, I questioned his abilities and knowledge.
The billing department should be fired they have no skills whatsoever and no knowledge of how the bill properly talking with my insurance company they resolve quite a few of the issues.

I’ve been waiting to submit a review because I have been diligently trying to resolve the issues with Dr. Miller and his billing. I broke my foot back in August, 3.5 weeks ago at this point. I received a same day appointment from Dr. Miller which I was grateful for because the splint the ER put on me was too tight and my foot had swelled making it very uncomfortable. After waiting for over an hour (expected for last minute booking), I was put in a room. I asked if I could take the splint off and the attendant told me ok, so I removed it myself. Then Dr. Miller came into the room and spent about 5 – 10 minutes trying to figure out how to read my xrays on his computer. I was a bit surprised because St. Anthony’s gave me the xrays, so I would think I wasn’t the first person to bring in an xray from them. Oh well. moving on.
Dr. Miller confirmed what the ER told me, I have a broken fifth metatarsal. He told me I’d need to wear a boot and come back in a month for another xray to see how it’s healing. He said I should be able to walk on my foot with the boot. With that, he left the room. After waiting a few minutes, a girl came in with a knee-​high boot in a plastic bag and handed it to me. I said I never broke a bone before so I had no idea how to put the boot on, or if there was anything special I should do. She responded by telling me there were instructions in the bag. Okee-​dokee! I figured out how to get the boot on, and tried to stand on my foot. No Way! I asked the girl to ask Dr. Miller if something was wrong because he said I should be able to walk on it, but I couldn’t bare the pain. After repeating myself several times, the person went back to get him. I met him in the hallway and he said keep using the crutches.
I adjusted to wearing the boot, but began to question why I needed something that went up to my knee. At the end of the first week, living in gawd awful hot Florida, I started calling his office to ask if I really needed this big heavy boot. It took almost two weeks to finally get an answer that the boot wasn’t medically necessary and I could wear a short boot, but they don’t have any. Oh.
In between the time I was originally seen and finally receiving word I could wear a different boot, I received a bill. I called the office and was told I owe anything above and beyond my insurance because I signed a paper saying I would pay. I was puzzled to say the least. Why after making my copay was I charged another $ 189 when I have excellent insurance? She didn’t know, so I called the insurance company (BCBS). I was told I was charged $ 400 for the boot (OMG, it was $ 30 on Amazon), and $ 625 for the office visit and «treatment». I disputed this with the insurance company and was asked to please contact the dr again to explain my concerns. After more phone calls to his office, I was given his billing company to call. I had my call returned several days later, (Last Fri. night after 5:30pm). I spoke to the billing company for over a half hour and was offered to credit my copays. I said, No! I want my insurance company credited. If you call handing me a boot in a plastic bag and telling me to read the instructions treatment, then anyone can be a dr! I was also told the reason they gave me the knee-​high boot was because that was the only kind they had. Again, I was flabbergasted because why wouldn’t Dr. Miller tell me I needed a short boot but he didn’t have any and provide me options to get one. Now that I have the knee-​high boot, I’m stuck with it and they billed my insurance so I can’t get another one unless I pay out of pocket.
From Friday to Tuesday, I didn’t hear back from the lady at the billing company who promised me she would convey my concerns to Dr. Miller since he never returned my calls. Late Tuesday, I called the billing company again, but spoke to a gentleman this time. He had no idea what I wanted and wanted me to explain everything before taking my message for the lady I spoke with. Shortly after our call, I received a return call from him telling me to call Dr. Miller to address my concerns.
Today, Wednesday, I called again, and the woman at Dr. Miller’s office started from scratch again, stating the amounts I owed. Arrggghhh! Finally I explained to her that it was Dr. Miller who entered the diagnostic codes and he would have to be the one to remove the treatment one to my insurance company, and explain why I was given a knee high boot when it wasn’t necessary.
In summary, (sorry this is so long), I think Dr. Miller is playing games with my insurance company and I will report this same summary to them. If folks complain about the cost of their insurance premiums, this is a prime example of price gauging. For a 15 minute office visit and a $ 30 boot, he billed my insurance company $ 1025. That’s crazy! This would explain the reason healthcare costs are skyrocketing.

My first impression was horrific. There was a sign near the street but the only business in this sort of strip mall looked abandoned. I literally drove around the block to see if I had made a mistake. There were sticker numbers on the door, so I went in after sitting in the parking lot debating if I should even go in.
If I were to take a picture of it and post, there’s no way anyone in their right mind would go in. (Of course, I regretfully did, but it was as a service to the general population.)
I went in and was not disappointed! It was the grungiest doctor’s office I had ever been in! The lighting was florescent, there were worn paper signs posted everywhere, weird knick-​knacks on the counter. No one smiled behind the glass — I should have realized what the deal was.
I walked past the doc on the way to the exam room and he had a ton of cologne on. Ugh. The assistant was nice, but seemed sort of grungy too. The doc came in, seemed nice and competent, which is the main thing, I suppose. Honestly, he did a thorough exam on my foot, but THEN did his entire dictation right there in front of me — it was BIZARRE. I sat there for five minutes just watching him while he rattled into his little tape recorder. I swear, it almost seemed like he was showing off. I have NEVER had a doc do his or her dictation right in front of me! It was awkward for sure.
Then, he chastised his assistant right in front of me for not asking more «probing questions.» You could tell she felt bad and it was probably not the first time he put her down in front of someone. I mean he did not hold back — and I was RIGHT THERE.
Again, bizarre. And no, I’m not going back and will continue to shop for a decent foot doctor in St. Pete.
