Server, Laura, had all kinds of personality and was so ethical, she stopped me from giving her a cash tip, advising me that gratuity was already added to our bill. We ordered exotic tropical drinks while sitting by the pool, as well as Spicy shrimp. All were excellent.

Salad and club sandwich were very good. Beer selection was good for someone from the west coast(plenty of ipas). They added a 18 percent gratuity on a party of two which I thought was odd. Overall a great experience.

What a wonderful lunch directly on the beach with sand tickling at my sandals! To enjoy a chef inspired lunch while smelling the warm salt air of the gulf… Wonderful! I enjoyed the Cuban style sandwich… Fantastic! Wanna feel like you gave it made… Check out this hot lunch location between the pools and sand!

We ate lunch here(and ordered drinks) several times while staying at the Don Cesar, as this is the outdoor restaurant for the Don Cesar’s pools. They have a decent selection of food items and fun beachy drinks, as well as typical alcohol options such as several beers on tap. The servers were all very friendly, but service can take awhile when it is busy. During various visits I tried the cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, the portabella melt with regular fries, and the mahi sandwich. All three sandwiches were very good, as were the sides. I also tried their peach smoothie, which was awesome, and tried a friend’s mojito, which was amazing. The food and drinks were consistently good during all of our visits. The biggest downside of this place is that the prices are definitely resort prices. At one meal, we ordered 3 sandwiches, a kids grilled cheese, and 2 alcoholic drinks, and the cost(gratuity is automatically included) was just under $ 100. The food is very good, but extremely overpriced — you are definitely paying for the experience here. When you are at the pool, though, you generally don’t want to mess with drying off and getting dressed to go eat somewhere, so it is nice to have the option to order good food poolside.

Decent poolside service and oceanview lounge service; roomy poolside bar and seating area… the food here was surprisingly exceptional! The servers are, for the most part, pleasant but obviously crazy busy at times. Be sure to put your order in before the famous sunset! After that, you’re out of luck.(At night, poolside lighting is minimal.) Really enjoyable.

Fun environment. They always have live music. Food and drink are appropriately priced. Would definitely come back here again and bring visitors. Fish tacos were quite large and delicious. Fried were fresh and tasty.

I eat lunch poolside every time we visit Don Cesar and this time was no exception. It is pricey but what poolside resort restaurant isn’t? The waitstaff is excellent. Our server Laura who came onto the pool deck to serve us was so friendly and attentive. She even made sure we had ice water as we relaxed at the pool. My husband and I started with drinks. Him, the classic frozen margarita; me, the Patron blueberry skinny margarita. Tasty and refreshing. We shared the tuna tartare($ 10) served with a sesame seaweed slaw and spicy shrimp chips. The tuna was fresh, the slaw spicy and the chips light and airy. It was very small for two to share and they could have provided more chips. I think we had 5 chips served in a small bowl. Nix the bowl and put more chips on the plate. When we were ready for a late lunch, we shared the gulf coast fish tacos($ 16). We asked for an additional taco so we had two each. They were accommodating and even split them on two plates for us. The tacos were very fresh with perfectly grilled fish, cilantro salsa, chipotle crema and served with a very tasty citrus jicama slaw. Seeing that we are staying all week at the Don Cesar, I will be exploring more of the menu. Also, if you just want to visit for lunch and are not staying at the resort, you’ll enjoy the gulf breeze and wonderful view while you eat fresh fare.

It’s a Loews hotel, so be prepared for higher prices. That said, loved it. Great hotel, great view, great music, great piña coladas.

Pretty spendy but pretty good. And there’s usually live music during the day. Fruity drinks. Comfort foods pretty well prepared. No complaints other than the big bucks it takes to fund a full meal here. Service is usually pretty good although they can get busy. There are umbrellas for shade. It’s casual outdoor style eating by the pool just off the beach. I think you can also get served at your beach lounger if you shell out to rent one.

Come to Castile and have Jess walk you thru the fabulous menu! We spent a wonderful birthday meal including lobster fries and spare ribs better than your mama ever made. A must!

Never mind the cost… it is more expensive than the other places adjacent to the beach. If you’re concerned about paying an extra dollar or two per drink then I can tell you right now do not even bother reading further or going to the Beachcomber. I’ve been popping in for years. It is a VERY welcome respite from those hot days on the beach. It is a VERY welcome respite from some of the absolutely horrible bars next to the beach(some are horrible some are great)…just saying that if you have no idea where to go this is a safe bet. The food is tasty and well executed. The service is ALWAYS fantastic. The view is OK. Nothing terribly special. The beach is a bit obscured but you will see plenty of surgically enhanced MILFs, so, that’s a plus. The drinks are great too. You’re on vacation… splurge for that drink you’d never order in your local bar, i.e., anything with an umbrella or needs to be blended. Lots of seats, great atmosphere, shade, good staff. This is always on my roster of beach bars/restaurants to go to for any stay in St. Pete longer than two days. Oh yeah, not that it applies to me but this will be helpful too. It is family friendly. Possibly, the price scares away the riff-raff that you’d need to protect your kids from.

Ordered lunch here while lounging poolside at the Don CeSar. Prices were decent and the food was good. The Cuban wrap was surprisingly delicious — and you can never go wrong with sweet potato fries. The drinks were also amazing. I asked the boyfriend to order me «something frosty» — and it was absolutely perfect! :)

I loved our lunch here. Nice view, decent food. Prices were high but it’s at the DOn so what do you expect? The burger was perfectly cooked and my vegi sandiwch was cool and crisp on a hot day at the beach. We’ll be back

This is probably my favorite place to have lunch in the St. Petersburg area. When we want a change from the city, we wander over to the Don CeSar to have lunch by the beach, the pools, and the beautiful hotel. Always a bustling place, there is rarely a wait for one of the tables at their«beachside patio. Because it’s usually busy at lunch time, service might be a little bit slow, but who cares? St. Pete Beach and the Gulf are right there to enjoy while waiting! What a view! The servers are wonderful and I am always impressed by their attention to detail. The food is delicious! Choose anything… a fresh salad, sandwich, or burger, and be in paradise. Another neat touch: have them validate your parking voucher!
