Stopped by Monday night at 7pm. Placed was locked up, no lights. Out of business?

I’ll start off with the one good thing: The ingredients taste fresh. Everything else: 1.) I eat a lot of gluten free foods, I know sometimes they are hit and miss. I thought I’d give theirs a try since they talked it up so much, and it does in fact, taste like paper. Not even cardboard, but like, college ruled school paper. It’s nasty. 2.) There was hardly ANY sauce in either pizza I ordered and an extremely small amount of cheese and toppings in general. 3.) Considering the previous two complaints I’ve listed, they are NOT worth the price.

This is an interesting way to fly. One size: personal, and it’s about enough to handle a 200 lb guy, but not always. Aside from those who whine about delays(which you get when you hit peak ordering times — come on, get experience), this place does a nice job. It’s not a Noo Yawk we’re bettah than youse kind of joint. They emphasize FRESHNESS, and you order you own crust, your own sauce, and your own tops from what you can see in the dishes in front of you. Then they assemble, and cook in their imported Italian steel ovens, and yeah: worth the time and small money. I’ve been downing East Coast(Brooklyn, Boston, Manhattan, New Haven, etc.) pie since 1961, and this place belongs. Park behind the place, and hey, why not split a third one? Delivery possible, but I’m not of that school of thought — the pie starts dieing the minute it leaves the oven(not unlike an ear of corn off the stalk).

Another attempt at pizza in St. Pete, and another failure. Not a total failure, probably deserving 2.5 stars, maybe I’d push it to 3, but as time has passed since I ate it, the worse my opinion of the meal becomes. While the build your own pizza idea is a bit novel, the failure is in the execution. I ordered the killer pepperoni, which is NY crust with their«grandma sauce», mozzarella cheese and italian pepperoni. Their pizzas are personal size, and are enough for one person. The NY crust was close. Not quite what you would expect from a NY pizza crust — lacking in flavor and a bit thin, if I remember correctly. The sauce was lacking in taste, too(which is generally what I thought of the pizza). As for the pepperoni, there may have been 3 small pieces on each quarter. That was a bit pathetic. I realize the description didn’t say it would be loaded with pepperoni, but with a name like«killer pepperoni,» you expect a bit more. Or a lot more. I really wish this region would stop disappointing me in pizza. I eat it so rarely and love it so much that it feels like a personal vendetta that Tampa/St. Pete has against me. Can someone please… please…open a great NY pizza joint in this area(and if any of you say Eddie and Sams, we will have words).

Interesting concept. Think Chipotle but for pizza. Choose your dough and toppings. Also you can sit down then order after combing through the menu. Very tasty and quality ingredients.

We really enjoyed their spin on specialty pizzas, and their delicious gelato. I think they have a great concept going here, and hope they can make a go of this tricky location on the northern fringe of downtown. I feel like they would benefit from some sassier signage perpendicular to the frenetic flow of 4th Street. At least they have convenient parking around back. Give these guys a try. Yum!

The pizza is just meh, but I think the concept is fantastic. Pretty cheap too, depending on what you get. They do cook your pizza from scratch in 3 minutes so it’s great for a quick bite.

New pizza place near work. Very good idea of allowing customers to really customize your pizza, choose everything from the dough to the selection of 5 different sauces, cheeses, and of course variety of toppings. Topping selections were quality and tasty. Service was friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you are a pizza fan… My personal pizza was pretty darn good.

Tried this place out tonight. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The pizza however was lacking. I kept it simple and just ordered mushroom, to me it tasted like a frozen pizza. It wasn’t horrible, just not what I expected. We were there at 7pm on a Friday night and were literally the only customers in there the entire time. That should’ve been our first tip. I probably won’t be back

Although I love the idea of creating my own pizza… Turns out… I am not so good at it. I think I need a couple more tries to get this one right which is why I cannot, in good conscience, give them less than 4 stars! The fact that everyone in your party can have their own personalized pie down to the crust is just great. Just because I picked a not so great combo… that’s on me. My biggest hangup: the wait. The downside is that we waited longer than the 3 minutes promised on their website for our pies. Tip: Because it’s all personalized expect to wait longer than the 3 minute promise on their website. Suggestion for consideration: Would anyone else like to make it more like a Subway style? Where the patron can see the veggies and toppings making us a part of the experience which could ease the pain of waiting. This would also slow down the line and help stick to that 3 min promise. New suggestion: think chipotle. Start with the crust on one end, patrons load up on the sauces and toppings, the final«topper» writes the order and name on the box and puts pizza in the oven, cashier takes payment, name is called when pizza is done.

Great pizza, great service. Owners involved in daily operation. Doesn’t get much better than this pizza! Don’t really understand the negative reviews, grumpy people.

If you want a fresh, healthy(optional), home-made style personal pizza you can order from the comfort of your couch– you have come to the right place. So many toppings! It’s definitely easy to get carried away but being creative is half the fun. I’m pretty sure I haven’t ordered the same pizza twice– each one equally delicious. Plus this is the first delivered pizza I’ve ordered and not felt disgusting after. A++

First time having this pizza tonight. Not bad. Firstly, you have to keep in mind, they have one size pizzas. Personal. Maybe 9 – 10 in. I will give negative marks on this as no where on their website could I find anything that told me this… the big clue is you never see any size options. So I called to find out what the deal is. I ended up ordering 2, one with ‘Roni and sausage, the other meatball. High marks for the online ordering system, simple and easy. As opposed to Flippers whose online ordering is so convoluted, I ended up calling it in. The over all taste was good. But, honestly, I’ve still had better. I would come here again, or order online. But I wasn’t blown away to the extent that this would be the only place for me. These small pizzas are also cranked out in 700 deg ovens and takes about 3 mins. I would say, the pizzas need more cheese. I don’t know what it is, other than keeping food costs down, the most pizza joints can’t seem to put enough cheese on and you have to order extra just to get a nice cheesy pizza. Sauce was good. Toppings good. Overall, good. Now I have 2 pizza places in the area I can choose from. Staff-very nice, very friendly. Very pleasant experience, which you don’t tend to find too often. Restaurant-Nice, modern, clean. Parking — in the back. Had no idea till I had gotten inside and looked out the back door. I parked down the way, parallel to the street. Value v Price– for both pizzas, 3 toppings between them both, I paid around $ 15. When I look at them both and compare that to a normal 2 topping pizza I usually get, I’d say that these guys come in 2nd. I just don’t see enough product for what I paid compared to paying the same and getting a large pizza. All in all, I’ll be back.

Yum! Really good pizza here. Love the sauce, love the crust. Looking forward to dining in and drinkin’ down some local craft beers.

They sell draft ipa beer! 10″ Individual size pizzas, 2 dough choices(thin or wheat), 5 sauces + many topping choices. Mine was thin, grandma sauce, with bacon, roasted red and banana peppers. Made fresh, piping hot and the crust was super; corn meal on the bottom and crispy edges. Sauce traditional, mellow with good flavor, right on target. The décor is hip, new and extra clean with a large Tv and chill music playing. If you come at lunch the drink is free. Only downside for me was the price. $ 5.99+.99 meat +.59 for each veggie topping. $ 8.73 + tax/tip + drink = $ 14. Good price if you decided to share, but it’s good enough to eat by yourself. Next time, I’ll order cheese, peppers and carryout simply to appease my cost effectivenes.

This place was great! Awesome location(despite tight parking spaces) as I don’t like any of the other pizza places on 4th street. I went in to order a slice but was informed they do small personal pizzas instead. Ordered one of those(to go) with NY style pizza dough, hearty tomato blend sauce, shredded mozzarella, jalapeños, bacon crumbles, and cupped pepperoni. It was only like $ 9 which is awesome. The staff was very friendly and attentive and let me know my pizza would be done in 5 minutes. Pizza arrived right on time and was delicious! My only complaint is that the«NY style dough» is not thick enough. I was born and raised in New York and I’m accustomed to a thick(but not too thick) dough. Otherwise, the place is great! I will be coming back and referring all of my pizza-loving friends to Top This Pie.

We were greeted by the owners immediately upon entering, and right away felt very welcome. They thoroughly explained the menu and options, and then made us 2 delicious pies. The pizzas are the perfect size for one person, and sharing is encouraged. The whole wheat crust was crispy and delicious. We were also surprised to find a few local craft beers from 3 daughters and St Pete brewing on tap. Also, very bike friendly! They let us bring our bikes inside and gave us tips on some nice bike routes to take, considering we came from Miami and don’t know the area very well. Overall a great afternoon pizza experience. Thank you!

Such a fun concept! I went here a few weeks ago with a couple of my coworkers. I’ve returned twice since then. I was really impressed with the quick service as well as the friendliness of the owners. Now, on to the pie. When trying to order a pie for a group of people, you have to compromise on toppings. Here you get an individual pie with exactly what you want. I’ve had both the whole wheat and traditional crust. I think the whole wheat gives a little more complexity to the taste. The toppings are fresh and delicious. try the cupped pepperoni if you’re looking for something different. Save room for gelato!
