Vantage Point Condominiums

I’ve lived at Vantage Point for approximately 3 months; so far so good! I haven’t had an issue with termites or bugs. All the residents I’ve met are friendly.
I rent from a private owner that has a condo at Vantage Point. I live by building’s 11 – 14, parking can be some what of an issue.
I have a very hard time with the gate for when I have guests… For myself the key entry works fine.
Some residents don’t pick up after they’re dogs I wish this common sense was enforced. The trash bins are AWFUL. They need to be updated to match the nice look of the complex! The raccoons have too easy of an access into the garbage from residents leaving the bins open.
It’s kind of odd that there are no sidewalks but where I was prior living at downtown, Vantage Point is a nice upgrade!
I feel very safe in this community as well. I able to walk my dog in the dark at ease and not have to worry about locking my doors all the time.
Pool is nice but a jacuzzi would be awesome! The grilling areas are very outdated too.
The price ranges of the units vary on the upgrades.

I have lived here for two years and decided to move out at the end of June, I’m done. I’ll start with the positive… I had an upgraded two bedroom, two bathroom which was well done on the inside. It’s only about 800 sq ft inside, so it’s a perfect size for one person. Very tight for two people. I used the 2^nd bedroom as a guest room/​office/​storage for just me. The pool is gorgeous and they had a gate to get in and out of the complex (which stops working occasionally). They hold tenant parties about 3 – 4 times a year to socialize with another. Everything worked fine in my apartment. If it broke, I called to get it fixed, which they always did (albeit not very quickly). I could have cats for a small deposit and they are super dog friendly. I never heard of any break-​ins.
Negatives: Do not move here. All that matters is not a positive. I had termites swarming inside my home for two straight years. They were everywhere in my apartment, including my bedroom and bathroom. Nothing will ever be done as the infestation is so far gone to be corrected according to what I’ve been told.
They need to replace the Property Manager Kristy. She is irresponsible, has no customer service skills, does not return phone calls ever, goes on vacation and does not change her voicemail to reflect she’s gone, so you’re leaving messages expecting a return call soon. I set up a walk through with her and she was already scheduled for vacation for the same day and still scheduled the walk through with me, so if I didn’t need to change the time, I would have been there waiting for her with a no show. I had a flood in my apartment from the tenants above me and my carpets were soaked. Carpet restoration came in but they left the carpet a mess (I called Kristy to let her know about that, no response). I am insisting on doing a walk through so they don’t try to blame it on me.
It takes days before maintenance shows up. I have had to call for several items, (such as rain coming in my front window) and no one came until 2 days later to caulk it. [Side item: I lost a/​c one day and I called 24 hour service and they came several hours later.]
The traffic on Gandy is horrific to get in and out during rush hour, especially now with all the construction. And you need to be a Nascar driver to make sure you get out into traffic before the person behind you does because no one is considerate any longer and waits their turn.
The landscaping around the building is sub par. They have shrubs but all at different lengths and no ground fill, so when it rains, the sand just goes all over the building steps creating mud pits.
You can hear your neighbors. My upstairs tenant and her boyfriend would wake me up in the middle of the night with their banging in bed.
Thereare no assigned spots for parking, so you if you get home after 7 at night, you have to park all the way to the other end of the building for an open space and walk mostly in the dark to your apartment. As a female, this always worried me.
It’s really over priced for what you’re getting. Rent a small house for the same price. I thought I wanted an apartment because of the pool and work out room… barely used either. The hot tub/​spa was usually lukewarm.

This place is a fucking joke (excuse my language) but I live here & I am breaking my lease. It has been a joke since day number one in here, please do yourself a favor & DONT MOVE HERE!!! Stay away!!! The day we moved in they didn’t have my apartment ready, they were doing the floors! (So just imagine moving day you’re ready with your truck at the time they told you that you can go ahead & start moving –10am– & we are all ready to move in, except that when we go to pick up the keys the horrible manager Kristy starts coming up with her dumb usual excuses that the apartment wasn’t ready they were fixing the floors & therefore it was not ready & dirty… Alright so we politely stayed cool & agreed to wait 5HOURS!!! For them to finish up the floors… 5 hours go by & we were supposed to return the u haul then we come in & this cleaning lady was supposed to clean all the dust & bathrooms (when you move somewhere everything is supposed to be clean right? Well not here!). Then she says oh it’s too late I’m supposed to clean other units & I won’t be able to clean yours today. Then we agreed politely to understand & said alright it’s fine we can go ahead & move into our not so ready, dirty apartment. Oh and clean it! Alright… so first day sounds pretty good thus far right!!! Hah!!! Okay you guys know what happened, we had to move our stuff in super late at night, not to mention we had to clean that nasty (oh super expensive, upgraded, lake view, first floor) apartment. Did I mention that the day we moved in we couldn’t even walk in the guest’s bedroom & bathroom because TERMITES WERE EVERYWHERE!!!
Moving on to second morning, we are ready to leave the apartment & surprise surprise the keys don’t work! Haha!!! This must be all a joke right?! Keys don’t work, termites are everywhere flying around & crawling the walls, mold is growing by the windows & door, guest’s bathtub was leaking for 2 weeks, dishwasher didn’t work, main bathtub was clogged! I mean just horrible!!! But it doesn’t stop there. Everything was wrong enough & then we called management to get some help & this rude, ugly, unprofessional, mediocre woman called KRISTY SAYS THAT SHES GOING TO SEND SOMEONE TO FIX THOSE STUFF, but she doesn’t sound concern whatsoever about the whole situation, she doesn’t even apologize! Nothing! Just plane simple bad manager! I mean this manager is a joke just like the whole complex! So, alright like after 1 month they fixed some issues. However, TERMITES kept on going in our apartment. We tried calling KRISTY THE NASTY AND HORRIBLE MANAGER & she has the courage to say that she doesn’t care about it & that it’s not her priority but she was going to see what she could do (just like that, careless & nonsense). She promised to send someone to spray something but this someone was not going to come to the apartment until next month??? I mean really??? Next month? Just like that, she doesn’t even sound concern… I mean… Is this how you are supposed to be treated after paying so much every month & spending time & money to kill termites because nobody comes here for us to fix it & management doesn’t even care! Is that fair at all!!! The fact that she wouldn’t even offer some credit towards rent because of the HUGE waste of our time & inconvenient, is just ridiculous!!! KRISTY shouldn’t be a manager, she needs to go home. & you guys please do yourself & friends a favor passing the voice. Do not rent here!!! Save yourself some money, headaches, time, kindness, & overall piece of mind! STAY AWAY FROM THIS NASTY, SHITTY, DISGUSTINGLY horrible apartments! I agree with that review that says how they spend the money making apartments look «pretty» by upgrading them, but they’re not fixing the real issue, they need to replace all that old wood that these apartments are made of! That’s all!!!

I lived at Vantage Point Condominiums for over a year after moving from North Carolina to Florida. Just can’t say enough about wonderful things about this place. First the staff were more than helpful and considerate even with me having to do everything over the phone and email. Even arriving on the weekend after hours they still worked with me so I could get the keys. The staff was so helpful and really friendly and went out of their way to help me get familiar with the area. They took time to tell me about schools and activities for my son. Vantage Point is just across Tampa bay near the water. so a beautiful view to work every day and bo tolls. There are also beautiful running trials right off Gandy Blvd all the way up to the bridge.
My apartment was beautiful! After living in a house for the past ten years and moving back to an apartment this was a lovely place. The spacious rooms, soft carpet, beautiful appliances, granite and walk in closets made it feel like home. The pool and hot tub were perfect for relaxing and there’s even an exercise room for busy bodies.
This was the first apartment complex I had ever been to that actually held parties to encourage the ppl living there to get to know each other free of charge. Great staff that go out of their way to make sure you are home.
Great community, good people and closest thing to home. Thanks for making my home away from home a great experience with wonderful memories for years to come.

I’ve lived at Vantage Point for a couple years now in multiple apartments. Good location, cheap price and legit pool… My favorite thing about living here is the apartment parties that the leasing office hosts for all the residents. They always deliver on some delicious food, spirits and entertainment… I read some of the other reviews and noticed few comments about bug issues and I’ve never really experienced any issues… My first apartment was located on the 2^nd floor so never experienced any bug issues. Then I upgraded to my second apartment located on the 1^st floor in a different unit and I experience minimum bug issues.
The apartment staff is friendly and reliable. I always had a great relationship with anyone who has ever worked here. I’m a pet owner and the staff/​apartment complex is extremely pet friendly. The apartment is safe for walking your dog and they have a few small locations to allow your dog to run around.

I Recently visited my daughter at her new apartment. This is such a beautiful place. The landscaping is so nice and the pool area is so pretty. The upgraded countertops and appliances are georgeous! I feel like my daughter is safe with the gated community, and everyone seems so nice a friendly. I also like that the maintenance staff takes care of everything for her. I don’t need to worry knowing she is living at such a great place.

I have lived here since April 2014 and honestly it was probably one of the worst decisions I’ve made. Within a month of moving in my apartment was swarming with termites, I contacted the office multiple times before my apartment was treated for the termites. I ended up sleeping in my living room for a week because of this, all the office staff would tell me was that we live in Florida and this happens. Completely unprofessional. Then over the summer I came home one evening and saw a mouse crawling in my kitchen, I contacted the emergency staff and they came out and set up a couple of traps, when I woke up the next morning both traps had a mouse in them. Then two more traps were set and another 2 mice were caught, the office staff blamed the recent construction. I felt absolutely disgusting knowing that mice had a way of getting into my apartment. The staff will literally put the blame on everyone and everything other than themselves.
When I was first looking at the apartments, I was with my mother and she made a comment about the apartments having ‘thicker’ walls because they were built as condos, the office staff confirmed this and said the apartments are very quiet. This is WRONG! Every single sound can be heard inside my apartment. Everything from my rude noisy neighbors, to the man that feels its necessary to sing as loud as he can while walking his dog at 10:30pm, even the raccoons fighting outside. Aside from the upgraded appliances, I have nothing positive to say about this apartment complex. Forget about trying to get in contact with the office by phone, then rarely answer the phone, and when you do get in contact with them, the lovely office staff can’t answer simple questions like, what is the latest date you can turn in your rent. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I will not be renewing my lease in 2015, I will gladly pack up my entire apartment and move again.

I lived there only for one month. My apartment was infested with roaches and rats. The property manager wouldn’t do anything to help. Had to move out. Don’t live here!

First above all let me start by saying that I am not the type of person that likes to do this things of reviewing stuff but I think this time i would have to do it for all the people out there that are currently looking for a place to call home. I been here for almost a year we like the fact that is close to everything and the complex is cute but OMG! the construction is not good at all you can hear everything and specially if you have those Noisy neighbors I still can’t understand why if people know how loud and noisy they are, wont freaking get a house instead of getting an Apartment, for my bad luck I got stuck with a loud neighbor the police even came 2 times in one night and the worse thing is that the leasing office did not do anything about it, they just don’t care maybe because they are not the ones who are been bother, when I went to the office and complain about the issue that i am having guess what they said to me? «» you have to understand that your neighbor is young and they can be loud sometimes”” i was like OMG i cannot believe i just hear that! few days later i found out that she is freaking friends with the guy! Management up north is already aware of the freaking disaster here. Please for all you people out there if you are the kind of person that have a full time job and work hard and just want to come home and relax with peace and silent around DO NOT RENT HERE because unfortunately it can take more than 3 times for a complain to be hear, there are better options out there !

I am rating this based on several visits to my friend’s apartment plus the pool area.
I think this place is great and cute, and conveniently located between St. Pete, Tampa, and Pinellas Park. Since I am usually heading there from Clearwater, I’d like to comment that that isn’t too far of a drive, either.
My only concern is that last time I was visiting, there were two total strangers in the pool arguing and trying to draw me into the argument. I couldn’t really tell which of the two was really a resident there — one accused the other of being an escapee from a nearby mental institute. If that is the case, I am concerned about how someone like that could have access to the pool.
Otherwise, I would not hesitate to visit again.

I would never recommend this place to stay. They have HUGE termite problem and seem to not care. The property manager told me that they are not harmful or poisonous. What kind of property manager down plays something this serious and brushes it off. They did come and treat however termites are still in my room and kitchen sink!!! If you don’t mind termites in your kitchen with your food or in you bedroom then this is the place for you. This places needs to be closed down and bombed. There is no way this can be safe for the structure of the buildings and spraying is not helping the issue. LEASE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

My boyfriend and I have lived here since April and we are in love! We haven’t had any bug problems or anything of that sort. The pool is beautiful and has plenty of chairs for everyone to lay out on. The gym is a little small but it had the basics.
The apartment was clean and beautiful when we moved in. And we are in love with our view of the lake and fountain. The neighbors have all been friendly. No problems with parking or visitors parking here. They also throw events for the resident a including a pool parties with a keg and food!
My boyfriend and I live in a one bedroom apartment and couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t pay any attention to the older reviews.

I still really like living here, but they have a huge termite problem I was unaware of upon moving in. I noticed ant-​like bugs with wings flying around my living room and my girlfriend found a bunch in our bedroom by the window. We must have killed 15 – 20 termites before taping up the holes to keep them out. It seems to be a big problem here, after talking to the termite guy he told us that he had 21 more units to treat that day at this complex. (Where we live (3^rd building 2), Every day the landscaping people blow sand all over my car which kind of sucks but at least the place is well kept. Some buildings are worse than others so my advice to you is to look for termite damage because even if they have been treated in that building, they will be back! They just spent a lot of money on rennovations to keep themselves relevant but they needed to spend that money on replacing all the cheap wood with cement so they wont have this problem anymore. All in all, it’s the best place for the price to stay in this area.
Update: Just signed the second year of my lease because I’m almost done with school and didn’t want to move all my belongings for a short period of time and for the price this place wasn’t terrible. Wanted to add a few warnings if you’re looking to rent… We have a hard time plugging anything into electrical outlets because of poor installation and usually the plug falls right out of the outlet so we couldn’t charge our phones reliably in the bedroom and part of the living room. I told maintenance once that when it rains hard water drips from the top of the window onto my window sill, they never came back to fix this and it only happened once so I didn’t bother them about it any further. It’s usually not that noisy here but if you do have a neighbor with a dog that barks a lot, you will hear every bark. The appliances are new, this is a plus but the microwave kind of sucks, it has an option to change the power setting but it’s disabled so you cannot use high power. Our bathroom tub has a small divot that they covered with a bath mat instead of replacing the bathtub. The bug problem here is horrible too. The windows are in dire need of replacement and any sort of bug that wants in generally comes in. Spiders, mosquitos, termites, wasps, and just after signing my second lease we had bed bugs invade our apartment or they had been here the entire time… (Creepy to think about) Had this happened before we signed our second lease I wouldn’t still be here. We have all new furniture and a very expensive pillow top bed. We are also very clean people and were very offended when we brought up this issue because the leasing agent and property manager told me indirectly how dirty we were to have such a problem. I had to fight with the property manager to pay for extermination ($ 450) and she denied me 3 times stating it was our responsibly because «we don’t have bed bugs at this property.» She finally ended up paying because I looked up a Florida statute stating it was her responsibility and after she tried to ignore me half of the day I sent her an email with the law and walked down to the leasing office and waited for her while she tried to hide from me. She apparently talked to their lawyer and she tried to save face by telling me that they just changed the law but to «be nice» she would take care of the costs. She was extremely rude to me throughout the entire ordeal and she was very combative from the start. I did some research and usually when something like this happens they treat the entire building, they didn’t warn any of the other tenants and we were the only people moving all of our belongings out of our apartment (preparation for the treatment is very tedious, you basically have to move and launder all of your clothes and fabrics) If I could somehow prove that the bed bugs have been in our apartment the entire time we have lived here I would sue them for new furniture because we are going to have to throw all of our furniture away as a precaution when we move. This place went from the good, to the bad, then the ugly within just over a year of living here and I cannot wait to graduate so I can fight them to break the lease early and move out of this dump. You have all been warned!
