Sadly, this restaurant has closed and been converted to a coffee bar. We will miss it greatly!

Super slow service when it wasn’t that busy… waters needed to be asked to be filled. But the sushi is so good and it’s not expensive in the least — 10 rolls for 5 people at $ 21/person for the total bill… you’d spend at least $ 40 per person where I’m from on a meal like that!!! Love their sushi.

Good sushi located in the middle of nowhere. Ordered the sushi sashimi, dragon roll, red dragon roll, unagi, and avocado salad. All the sushi was fresh and tasty. You can’t say it’s up to par with any big city sushi, but it was good. The best part was the avocado salad. It was huge with lots of avocado, well worth the money. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sushi and salad. Highly recommended! *Note: As of 17 Oct 12, it is only open for dinner.

This place is usually fairly busy, especially for such a small place. That being said, I’ve never had to wait for a table, even with kids. The sushi isn’t the best I’ve had(can’t really beat the sushi in San Diego), but for BFE, MO, it’s not bad at all. Prices are decent, sushi is decent. Not a bad place and they’re kid-friendly so I’ll take it. AND they do take-out which wins points in my book because sometimes I just want to sit on my couch and eat my sushi like a bum. Thank you, Kyoto, for encouraging that!

It took forty-two minutes from the time I ordered my roll to when it was brought on. And it was mediocre. And my «spring rolls» totally came from a frozen bag. One bonus — service was friendly, and waitress was prompt to fill my water glass(I sat long enough for her to fill it four times).

Kyoto was a pleasant surprise to say the least… I did not expect descent sushi to be found anywhere in BFE, Missouri. Thankfully, Kyoto helps bridge the gap between location and sushi demand. Personally, I was a huge fan of their dynamite, spring, and spicy tuna rolls. However, I found their edamame bland at best… I personally would avoid it. The only other negative thing I have to say about Kyoto is that their atmosphere is rather disappointing, as is the size of the restaurant. However, their food makes up for these shortcomings. All in all, Kyoto was an enjoyable experience and I would gladly return.

Went here a couple of time just because they are one of the only places in the area that has sushi. The food is amazing and the crunch roll is to die for. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because they are outrageously expensive especially for little Missouri!

I don’t eat out much but this is my favorite place to go in Pulaski County. If you are a military ID holder, I think the best place to get sushi is at the commissary(sorry),(but the commissary doesn’t have the selection). I always get the same thing: 3 pc. Bento box with Tonkatsu, Gyoza and tempura. I can make the tonkatsu and gyoza(mine are better! lol) but not only is it too much trouble, I don’t have the patience or gumption to make all these things for one meal! The tempura is amazing! I love, love the side of pickled cabbage. I once order something else(on my birthday) but was dissapointed because it wasn’t like my mom’s. I seen the curry served to another customer and it didn’t look very good to me and that’s too easy for me to make. But, I always look forward to getting my bento box! And, they do serve beer.

Pleasantly surprised at this little sushi restaurant in the middle of nowhere Missouri! The facility is quite small but the selection was good and the wait staff polite.

Fairly good sushi for being in the middle of Missouri. guess it would be GREAT if I didn’t know any better. Probably the best in the area… But there aren’t many other options. Try the sukiyaki. bomb. Sushi rolls are decent…

I’ve been to Kyoto several times. I live in this area and can say this is the best Japanese sushi in a 25 mile radius. Food: Delicious. Great selection. I usually get a bento box with sashimi or separate sashimi pieces. The miso soup and house salad are wonderful. Also, the NYNY roll(New York New York) is amazing! Who would think apple slices would be good in sushi? Service: I always go when it’s slow so the service is up to par. Restaurant is small, don’t have a party here. Hours: They close at 2 pm after lunch, then reopen for dinner. They close early for dinner compared to some places. This is Missouri. Everything closes at like 9pm so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. Atmosphere: St. Robert is located next to an army base so lots of privates like to eat at the local restaurants. I was here on a date, there was a woman reading a book at another seat, and a group of four privates behind us. They were cussing up a storm, F-bomb this, S– that, with not a care in the world. The staff did nothing, it took the lady with the book to say something before they shut up. I learned as they were stumbling out of the restaurant that they were drunk as hell. I really wish the staff would have refused service, because they have every right to.

Decent sushi for the middle of missouri. The service is kind of slow and there is limited seating. Be prepared to wait on the weekends. The best dishes are their signature rolls(I like the dynamite).

You know, for a Japanese restaurant smack dab in the middle of Missouri and the middle of the country, I wouldn’t expect a really good Japanese restaurant out here. If anything, from what I’ve seen I would have expected a Japanese restaurant owned by Koreans because of the seemingly large Korean population here. But nope, wrong again! I admit, I’m a little bit of a tough reviewer because I actually lived in Japan(Kyoto, in fact) for a short time so I know the deliciousness of what comes out of that country and well, I think this restaurant is a gem! Lots of great choices such as bento box specials, sukiyaki, and even kitsune udon which I got excited over! They had some creative selections for rolls as well that looked yummy too. It doesn’t quite make it to 4 stars for me because this location doesn’t seem to have a liquor license yet because it seems to be relatively new(the first Kyoto restaurant is in Rolla). This means no Sapporo and Asahi beer with your meal, people! But if you can deal with that, this restaurant is worth returning to.
